I read the whole Megan piece. I get this feeling that shes putting us on. Or maybe I just want it to be that way.

As far as Chelsea goes, I think asking her about her dad’s affairs should be off limits. Or at least, the people who ask had better be feeling really uncomfortable. I don’t like her parents at all, but some things are just not done.

WordPress is eating my comments with links at the moment, so I’ll just add that Meghan is also a music blogger:

  3. Dan Collins says:

Same thing’s happening to me, Karl.

  4. bigbooner says:

If Chelsea wants to get out and plays with the big boys then she has to expect questions like that. I didn’t interpret the question being about Bill’s affair as much as it was asking about Hillary’s credibility taking a hit (perhaps in that “vast right wing conspiracy”) kinda way. When you are getting pimped you gotta expect that sorta thing.

  5. Log Cabin says:

Bigbooner has it exactly right. I will respect Chelsea’s privacy and refrain criticism of her as long as Mom and Dad stop trotting her out to promote her lying parents’ campaign.

Once they put her out there, she becomes fair game. The Clintons want it both ways: “See how our wonderful and articulate daughter represents us on the campaign trail? But don’t you dare criticize her or ask questions concerning our past actions! That’s off limits.”

It’s the Elizabeth Edwards ploy all over again.

  6. Lisa says:

Amanda Marcotte at Pandagon even wrote a flattering post about how totally rad Meghan McCain is.

Meghan McCain is like, totally, like, such a uniter.

Seriously, she does seem very cool.

  7. CraigC says:

    Why yes, yes I am.

  8. alppuccino says:

Maybe the way the question is asked could be tweaked a bit:

“Chelsea, are you concerned that if Hillary were president, and when she walks in on your dad, getting his bean waxed by an ambitious aide – are you concerned that she might have one of her fits and press the button just to get back at him? Your dad, y’know?”

  9. alppuccino says:

“Hillary is your mom, btw, Chelesea.”

  10. cranky-d says:

Any past actions that weren’t affairs would be okay to ask her about. I guess I feel differently about this than most.

  11. kelly says:

Chelsea is fair game. Period. She’s nothing more than a dissembler in training.

  12. Joel says:

Even for the WaPo, that was the most nauseatingly patronizing story I can recall reading.

  13. bigbooner says:

I guess I don’t look at this like it is just an “affair”. It had more to do with Hillary’s judgement and quickly attempting to put the blame on the conservatives. Even after Bill had been known for letting mister winky come out and play with anyone he could pressure. I, being a conservative, am still anxiously awaiting her apology.

  14. malaclypse the tertiary says:

Actually, I think this is her blog.

  15. MC says:

Pretty good legal disclaimer at mccainblogette.

  16. Darleen says:

Uh, Dan? I don’t believe Polichicks is Meghan’s blog.

    Meghan McCain is McCain Blogette
