  1. Pablo says:

Barrack ain’t white, rich or privileged? Are we talking about the same Barack Obama? Because the one I’m thinking of is all of those things.

  2. sashal says:

    FINALLY !!!!!!!!
The main Jewish guilt is over. Wright is right. Blame Italians.
    I feel so relieved.

  3. Eric J says:

I don’t know any Jew who feels guilty for killing Jesus. We didn’t do it. And besides, he got what was comin’ to him.

  4. happyfeet says:

    from politico comments…

Ben, when I’m not commenting on you blog I’m an expert on politics and religion. Can you please not push this? We cannot go down the road, the media cannot go down the road, of holding candidates to blame for what their church says… You, like me, will never understand what it means to be a Black man in America. And Wright is voicing a part of a conversation that has been had be theologians for over 130 years. Simply put this is not for the white media to judge. Nor is it for you to report on.

  5. MCPO Airdale says:

I L-O-V-E the comments on the Politico! It’s all a conspiracy between FNC and the Clintons. Geraldine Ferraro is a tool of the VRWC. It is almost impossible to parody these jackholes any longer.

  6. ThomasD says:

All of this discussion is leading me to believe that in the eyes of the progressives, no matter how racist I may be, I’m never quite racist enough.

  7. alppuccino says:

I loved Wright in Coming to America

  8. Rob Crawford says:

We cannot go down the road, the media cannot go down the road, of holding candidates to blame for what their church says…

Unless they’re Mormon or Catholic. Oh, and Republican — but does that really need to be said?

  9. Education Guy says:

Simply put this is not for the white media to judge. Nor is it for you to report on.

Because there are 2 Americas, a white one and a black one. Which was bad when the idea was forced by the whites, but good when attempted by the blacks.

Nope, no sale. We’ve already gone too far back down that road, and so requests to ignore topics such as this need to be ignored.

  10. mcgruder says:

    talk about burying the lede!
the video is boilerplate afro-centrist claptrap–I suspect jeff G., DC, Enoch and the rest of the lads could drive an armored division through it. Honestly, its too easy.

the story is in the comment section of that Politico posting.
I think it is an absolutely textbook example of the issues that truly animate liberal (not the activist left, mind you) discourse.

these people argue that even posting a clip from Fox–just a cyber reference to film–is some sort of heresy. And that is only the begining. Thoughtcrime allegations abound.

There crie de couer(s) are indeed about a religion, although nothing so ancient as a skinny Jewish man nailed to wood.

  11. happyfeet says:

Did we know this? This is that guy that just won that seat in Ohio.

For the record: 7th District Dem candidate Andre Carson is “an Orthodox, universal, secular Muslim” who “frequently attends” services at Nur-Allah Islamic Center.

What the hell is an Orthodox, universal, secular Muslim? Louis Farrakhan spoke at this guy’s mom’s funeral. Mostly though NPR for sure didn’t want me to know this, and I guess it explains why their celebration was so muted.

  12. Pablo says:

    Theologians? Huh?

Anyway, back to keeping the black man down:

And finally tonight, and this may be the most talked about part of the speech after laying out all of that. But I feel that I cannot leave this auditorium with my wife and my sons sitting there without addressing this issue.

In the past 30 days, I’ve been called a nigger more than any time in my entire life. In the past three days I have received more death threats than I have in my entire administration. I’ve heard these words before, but I’ve never heard people say them about my wife and children.

50 Cent reportedly quipped “Aw, fuck that nigga!”

  13. ThomasD says:

Judging from that comment section it appears Fox hatred trumps pretty much all else.

Whoever gets the Dem nomination, it’s going to be damn funny watching them (and their media enablers) try to kiss and make up after all this.

  14. The Ouroboros says:

Wright has a point.. I dont begrudge minorities their right to bitch about their perceived treatment as minorities in America.. I’d rather hear them speak their mind honestly than have a bunch of PC smoke blowed up my ass.. and I saw Mel’s movie.. ::Spoiler Alert:: it WAS the Dagos that drove the nails in….

  15. Carin says:

There were loud cheers … from his “invitation-only” audience of toadies. Here was my favorite part of the speech:

We’ve never been here before — and I don’t care if they cut the TV off — we’ve never been in a situation like this before, where you can say anything, do anything, have no facts, no research, no nothing, and you can launch a hate-driven bigoted assault on a family.

I humbly ask members of council, I humbly ask the business community, I humbly ask the religious community, I humbly ask the brothers and sisters of the City of Detroit, I humbly ask that we say no more together

He’s got WORK to do, can’t we all just please stop talking about it? Thankyouverymuch.

  16. Carin says:

dont begrudge minorities their right to bitch about their perceived treatment as minorities in America.

It’s not that they want to bitch, it’s that they want to LECTURE. And, you’re not allowed to respond unless you’re black. And, if you’re black and disagree, you’re an uncle Tom, so you’re still not allowed to respond.

Being from Detroit, I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired of race baiting.

  17. happyfeet says:

Oh. I are confused. That was Indiana.

  18. mojo says:

“Hillary ain’t never been called a nigger!” howls the preacher.

And it must be admitted, he’s right. But you know, I doubt Barry’s ever been called a stupid fucking cunt, so what the hell.

  19. happyfeet says:

But AP didn’t report on his faith either. That seems really odd. Islam is at least as controversial as Mormonism I would think, even more cause of all the killing and explosions and stuff.

  20. Dan Collins says:

    Bwahahaha, mojo!

  21. JD says:

Ben, when I’m not commenting on you blog I’m an expert on politics and religion. Can you please not push this? We cannot go down the road, the media cannot go down the road, of holding candidates to blame for what their church says… You, like me, will never understand what it means to be a Black man in America. And Wright is voicing a part of a conversation that has been had be theologians for over 130 years. Simply put this is not for the white media to judge. Nor is it for you to report on.

Can’t have people actually knowing the truth now, can we?

happyfeet – That was right here in Indianapolis. That guy is a clown. That seat has been held by his father, then his mother, and now him. He makes Baracky look uber-qualified.

  22. JD says:

Sorry, mojo … I think happyfeet might have called Baracky that once or twice.

  23. Pablo says:

You, like me, will never know what it’s like to have cankles in America. Or to be married to Mr. Crookshanks.

  24. happyfeet says:

Oh. Thanks, JD. No one tells me anything.

  25. happyfeet says:

Didn’t Obama also give this guy a lot of money from his book? Like 18 or 20K I think I read. That’s like 4 hookers worth.

  26. happyfeet says:

Oh. That was back on Wright again. I think giving him all that money makes it a lot harder to do the denounce and reject thing really. Spitzer had the same trouble.

  27. Victor. says:

Obama is trying to have it both ways here.

This church is just a few months away from having the Presidential Seal of Approval, and that’s going to be a problem.

Obama can distance himself from the racist rhetoric that Wright invokes all he wants, but in the end the record will show that Obama supported the church monetarily and relied on Wright for spiritual guidance.

Either he embraces the Church or he doesn’t, and contrary to most I think it is relevant to his qualification to led the country.

  28. Carin says:

Too bad nishi’s not hear to explain how O can be religious but that it’s still OK because he’s not a theocon.

  29. MayBee says:

Too bad nishi’s not hear to explain how O can be religious but that it’s still OK because he’s not a theocon.

I’ll only be convinced if she does it in all bold caps.

  30. Noah D says:

“What the hell is an Orthodox, universal, secular Muslim?”

Here in Indianapolis (okay, Zionsville, but close enough), we don’t have any fucking idea, either. Aside from the fact that it’s impossible to be orthodox and universalist/secular at the same time, in any religion. But then again, 7th District reps being lying leftist idiots is exactly what we’re used to, so.

Maybe I should ask the kind folks over at the Islamic Society of North America HQ in Plainfield IN; I’m sure they’ll give me an honest answer.

  31. Radish says:

As a practical matter, I don’t know if it’s possible for Andre Carson to vote for any more race-based socialism than his grandmother did, but the Farrakhan endorsement is troubling.

He was (deliberately?) vague about his swearing in.

  32. alppuccino says:

Did Obama ever have the courage or judgment to stand up in church and say, “Reverend, that’s taking it a little too far, don’t you think?”

  33. Noah D says:

“The 7th Congressional District is so diverse and includes so many faith traditions,” Carson said. “I don’t object to swearing on the Quran, the Bible, the Talmud . . . or just the (U.S.) Constitution.”

Pop quiz, Andre – which of those contain proscribe bearing false witness in all cases?

The idea of swearing an oath on the Quran while in the dar al-harb is amusing at best.

  34. Education Guy says:

As to the theology, it is kind of spooky that this preacher man would even attempt such a slur. The Jews and the Romans were merely the instrument by which God sacrificed his son. I must imagine that the preacher man has read the book that spells that out at least once or twice.

  35. Noah D says:

    ‘contain proscriptions’, rather.

  36. McGehee says:

The Jews and the Romans were merely the instrument by which God sacrificed his son.

I’m of the opinion that to be a Christian is to accept that we are the ones responsible for Jesus’ sacrifice. Anyone who blames Jews or anyone else, is rejecting the gift that sacrifice represents and thus rejecting Christianity.

  37. Dan Collins says:

That’s the most powerful part of the liturgy all year, when, in response to Pilate’s words in the Passion Play, we respond: “Crucify him!”

  38. happyfeet says:

Jesus was really cool about the whole thing I thought. I doubt he’s holding any kind of grudge at this point.

  39. alppuccino says:

You guys do Pilates during your Passion Play? Damn! That’s one fit congregation!

  40. MayBee says:

Plus, Pilates gives you great abs. It’s been a win win overall.

  41. MayBee says:

well, look at that cross post, would ya.

  42. alppuccino says:

    Great minds MayBee

  43. alppuccino says:

    stop that

  44. Jeffersonian says:

Bloody guineas did the same thing to their pal Benito, too.

I think to unite America, we all need to begin to hate it.

  45. happyfeet says:

Just cause Obama hates America doesn’t mean we all have to I don’t think.

  46. Carin says:

If Obama were elected, do you think they would play God Damn America at the coronation?

  47. alppuccino says:

If Obama were elected, do you think they would play God Damn America at the coronation?

I can almost hear Kate Smith’s heart re-exploding in her grave.

  48. happyfeet says:

Oh. Here’s the link for where Baracky gave over 4 dirty hookers worth of monies to his racist hateful ethnocentric church cult.

The Obamas donated $60,307 to charity, including $13,107 to the Congressional Black Caucus 501(c)(3) Foundation; $15,000 to CARE; $5,000 to the Muntu Dance Theater, where Michelle Obama sits on its board; $22,500 to their church, Trinity United Church of Christ, and $4,700 in other charitable contributions.

They’re really a lot ethnocentric when they give money, these guys. And that’s for 2006, so it’s kind of surprising to see that they really didn’t do just a whole lot to alleviate the enduring sufferings of the victims of teh Katrina. Maybe they don’t like black people.

  49. Jeffersonian says:

Just cause Obama hates America doesn’t mean we all have to I don’t think.

It’s this sort of divisive rhetoric that keeps Americans from the essential tasks of self-loathing and undermining the fabric of our nation.

  50. Education Guy says:

I’m of the opinion that to be a Christian is to accept that we are the ones responsible for Jesus’ sacrifice. Anyone who blames Jews or anyone else, is rejecting the gift that sacrifice represents and thus rejecting Christianity.

I agree, and for a supposed man of God to do so is damn near unforgivable.

  51. The Ouroboros says:

Oddly enough (considering I’m white…) I got called a ‘nigger’ just this morning.. When I came into work my boss loudly stated “My Nigga! Give me bones.” and struck his knuckles against mine ..

It was no big deal.. Should I have been insulted?

  52. The Ouroboros says:

Moreover, does that incident qualify me to be President of the United States? Cuz I’m so there… I could use a raise with benefits like the personal jet and stuff…

  53. Jeffersonian says:

It’s the Age of the Victim, O. You’ll make alderman, minimum.

  54. mojo says:

    Jesus died for somebody’s sins
    but not mine.
    — Patty Smith

  55. Salt Lick says:

Oddly enough (considering I’m white…) I got called a ‘nigger’ just this morning…

I can explain. When I was a kid, I was riding to the hardware store with a black family friend when a car cut us off. Bubba (yeah, that was really his name) shouted, “Godd*mn nigger!”

I said, “Bubba, that was a white guy.”

“Yeah, son, you got your black ones and you got your white ones.”

So ultimately, TO, you have to ask yourself if it’s true.

  56. Enoch_Root says:

Salt Lick – are you saying there are now “4 Americas”?

Damn if you are… I am still trying to accomodate the 2 Americas shit.

Fuck this! You’re all a bunch of anti-Papist bastards! I, Enoch Root, am officially petitioning for victimhood status on PW.

    Pls advise…

  57. B Moe says:

“Hillary ain’t never been called a nigger!” howls the preacher.

Maybe not, but I knew a guy called her a nigger lover when he found out Bill was Black.

  58. McGehee says:

Salt Lick – are you saying there are now “4 Americas”?

Damn if you are… I am still trying to accomodate the 2 Americas shit.

First there were two Americas. Then they told two Americas, and then they told two Americas, and so on, and so on, and so on…

  59. lee says:

Wright has a point.. I dont begrudge minorities their right to bitch about their perceived treatment as minorities in America.. I’d rather hear them speak their mind honestly than have a bunch of PC smoke blowed up my ass.

A lot of white guy’s bitch about minorities, and they all bitch about each other. That’s fine.

    But this:

Simply put this is not for the white media to judge. Nor is it for you to report on.

  60. lee says:

I mean, can Telemundo report on it?

Can the Native American judge all this talk of “black power”?

  61. lee says:

I get a creepy feeling when I hear talk of “keeping it quiet.”

It’s too much of Obamas strategy.

  62. […] by the context in which it is manifested.  Let’s just take the issue of his reflections on Romans and Jews.  You might think this is evidence, despite the Reverend’s explicit stand on Israel, of a […]
