Judgement [Dan Collins]

O! for two Orca:

Now she’s O-for-two.

A second memoir hailed by Oprah Winfrey‘s media empire was exposed as a fraud when author Margaret B. Jones – who claimed to be a biracial gang-banger – was revealed as Margaret Seltzer, a well-to-do San Fernando Valley girl.

“Love and Consequences” was published last week to generally rave reviews – and on her MySpace page, Jones/Seltzer trumpeted the plug from O, The Oprah Magazine.

A “startlingly tender memoir,” read the enthusiastic blurb.

Uh-O!

Speaking of O, who’s she backing for Pres again?  Oh, right.  Authenticky.

If you think Orca’s Big Give is hard to take, wait till you see Barack’s

It’s authentic because it’s violent, nihilistic and gritty, Dan. The narrative is right, the facts are just bullshit.

It must be impossible for a Spanish person to order seltzer in a restaurant.

This book club is very important to her. And this has happened a couple of times. It dosen’t give me much confidence in her ability to tell me who to vote for. Did she check him out?

A little OT, but some years ago I remember there were a couple of Tampa morning guys, on 98 Rock I think, who would do this game called ‘Wrong Answer.’ You’d call in, they’d ask you a question, if they liked your answer they’d give you something, and if they didn’t they’d make you wish you hadn’t called. Good fun. Anyway, one of the Shamus had died out at Sea World, so the Wrong Answer question that morning was, ‘Which famous whale just died, out at Sea World?’ The first caller thinks it over for a couple of seconds and says, ‘Oprah Winfrey.’ They gave him Aerosmith tickets or something, one of their better prizes.
