Ride, Swiftly Ride [Dan Collins]

An 18-year-old community college student has been missing since Friday, and authorities said they suspect foul play in her disappearance.Emily Sander was last seen at the Retreat, a bar east of El Dorado, leaving with Israel Mireles, 24, police said. Her car was found the following day at the bar.El Dorado Police Chief Tom Boren said Mireles is the last person known to be seen with Sander. On Saturday, authorities searched a room at the El Dorado Motel, where a manager reported an altercation may have occurred. Authorities will not release details of what they may have found, but said they believe the Butler Community College student was the victim of violence.

Police asked for the public’s help in finding the teen.

Sander was last seen leaving the Retreat, a bar east of El Dorado, with 24-year-old Israel Mireles, according to Detective Justin Phillips of the El Dorado Police Department.

“We want to talk to him,” said Phillips. “He’s a person of interest.”

Phillips said police have reason to think Sander is in danger. He declined to elaborate.

Mireles is 5 feet 6 and weighs approximately 130 pounds.

Phillips said Mireles is believed to be traveling in a 2007 gray or green Ford Taurus, with Kansas license plate number XUJ 487.

Mireles also is believed to be traveling with a 16-year-old.

Mireles and the 16-year-old have ties to Baxter Springs, Hays, and several locations in Oklahoma and Texas, Phillips said.

Anyone with any information regarding Sander or Mireles should contact the El Dorado Police Department at 316-321-9120 or the Kansas Bureau of Investigation at 800-KS-CRIME.

The Butler County sheriff’s office also is investigating the case.

Oddly enough, another similarly sized Israel Mireles is wanted in San Jose.
