Heh.
People who live near the museum in West Los Angeles oppose plans for a two-story cultural center that could be rented out for private events, such as weddings. The museum also wants to expand its hours to midnight, when such events are held, and to reduce its 100-foot buffer zone from homes to 20 feet.
This sounds like something from the Too Good To Check file to me. Not saying it’s false, just that that’s what it sounds like.
It’s true. The local NPR has sort of been on the story but not really flogging it. They really should sell and get something in a less pricey neighborhood. Everyone where they are now is already pretty gosh darn tolerant. I think Van Nuys might still could use some work though.
Ah yes, good old Rabbi Marvin Hier… Richard Nixons’ stalwart kosher defender, all the way through Watergate and beyond.
“The 14-year-old museum has exhibits dealing with the Holocaust, racism, extremism and human rights abuses around the world.”
I can see why that would be a popular wedding venue.
It was Rabbi’s killed Jesus, too. What I heard.
What a dupe Rabbi Hier was. Nixon used him like a sockpuppet and all the while behind his back Nixon swore Jews up and down and it’s all on tape. Yeah, I guess Hier showed a great deal of tolerance, there.
What a naughty naughty rabbi.
Silly rabbi, dirty tricks are for politicians!
RMN, it sounds like you’re blaming Hier more than you blame Nixon.
