“These laws are so poorly drafted, and so designed to trap otherwise legal citizens into a crime, that it is simply too dangerous for us to film here.” [Darleen Click]

Outdoor Channel poised to leave Colorado

Michael Bane is an Executive Producer and host for the Outdoor Channel which currently has four series in production, including the popular show Gun Stories.

In an email to Republican Senator Steve King, Bane says if the Democrat-sponsored bills pass, Colorado will become known as unfriendly to sportsmen and will force other producers across the country to consider other states.

The host says he’s already cancelled a scheduled filming session for late this month.

In the email, Bane says that after consulting with three lawyers they’ve determined that, quote: “These laws are so poorly drafted, and so designed to trap otherwise legal citizens into a crime, that it is simply too dangerous for us to film here.”

    they’re headquartered in freaking Temecula

they’ve been supporting a fascist hyper-regulated state every day of every year they’ve been in operation

    so color me unimpressed

  2. Darleen says:

the bread & butter, crankyfeet, is where the production takes place.

  3. fnord1 says:

Behold the fruits of Californication. Like infectious fleas jumping from the body of a dying plague dog the coming collapse of California, although full of sweet sweet schadenfreude, will have horrible consequences throughout America. We need to consider how we can deflect the oncoming hordes. Mormon culture will help protect Utah. I think Wyoming should prohibit the opening of swish coffee shops and any sushi bars. What other kind of Californicator repellants come to mind?

  4. sdferr says:

Though this isn’t precisely a repellant, States desiring Californians choose to migrate elsewhere than to themselves may ought to consider ramping up spiffy advertizing campaigns touting the virtues of Oregon and Washington State, if not the beauties of rustic Minnesota.

  5. sdferr says:

Oh, and Hawaii, how could I forget gorgeous Hawaii?

  6. happyfeet says:

the buttery buttery production bread is mostly just for piggy piggy union whores Darleen

  7. happyfeet says:

the rest of it ends up in the till at the closest starbucks swish coffee shop

  8. leigh says:

The host of The Sportsman Channel’s “A Rifleman’s Journal” was shot and killed in Montana on Friday. The gunman, seemingly a jealous husband, then turned the weapon on himself.

It is not yet clear if the weapon used in the crime was obtained legally.

I’m starting to look into putting together a go-bag for when this goes down in Florida, in case I find myself suddenly an outlaw needing to bug out. How much cash would be a good amount to stash for the go-bag?

  12. leigh says:

If the weapon was obtained legally does that make the shooting okay and just another day in Big Sky country?

  13. beemoe says:

Did the dude have his human hunting license?

  14. The way to keep Californians away is to declare your state’s official language is English, mandate a balanced state budget, put the individual right to keep and bear arms in the state constitution, and take off and nuke California from orbit.

Even if you don’t do the last one, do the others.

This is what is known everywhere to progressives as a super-duper-feature. The kind wet progressive dreams are made of. Bloomberg’s legal beagles likely charged him silly to craft these very feature laden bills for his enjoyment.

  16. LBascom says:

May as well blame Bush. Proggs love pointing at the other guy for their problems.

You forgot the Penchanga Indians and their casino.

  18. happyfeet says:

    indian casinos ick

i shall not participate in the debasement of these people

Bond used to carry about a dozen gold sovereigns in his attache case (remember From Russia With Love?). At around £268 a pop present market value, that makes a cool $4800. Good enough to tip the maitre d’ for a good table, get some caviar and Bollinger from room service, but probably not enough for a 32 oz soda in NYC.

So, you’re saving it all for us.

    Swell.

  21. Silver Whistle says:

O/T but it’s too funny not to share: Susan Rice as national security adviser? U.N. ambassador said to be front-runner. The thought of her advising on the security of even a landfill site, let alone the nation shows the comic genius of our Dear Leader. I look forward to Al Gore as next Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Does anyone here know if this is true?

I just found the podcast for the Jeff Crank show referenced in your link. Let me take a listen and see.

  27. smmtheory says:

Thanks Silver Whistle… that’s (gold sovereigns that is) all well and good for Bond, who happens to be a British government agent, to have coin of the realm and all. If I were a CIA agent, I’d probably not be too concerned about it and having to do this. I might even be able to get a hold of a stash of US Mint gold coins in that case too! I’m looking to not leave a trail though, and I imagine teh Fe’ral government is going to be keeping it’s jaundiced eye on gold transactions of substantial sums at some point. But having asked the question, I began to think about my course of action. I need enough money to get me far enough to connect with a rather well armed buddy of mine. Perhaps the prepaid Visa gift cards will suffice in the place of gold sovereigns…

  28. Matt says:

A good friend in Dallas says Texas is being invaded by the nanny staters from California, Oregon and Washington – he loves his state and his city and his afraid that the influx of big tax and spend libs will cause a shift in Texas demographics, that will ultimately doom one of the most successful, productive and business friendly states in the Union, to California’s fate. He was ok when the far left was mostly based in Austin but he sees them expanding into red cities in huge numbers. Add to that the sheer amount of illegal immigrants in California, well, you have a voting block which has the potential to transform another state into a liberal shithole over time.

Liberals are like a plague of locusts. They consume everything, leaving destruction in their wake, and move onto more fertile places, where the pattern repeats.

  29. Matt says:

*The thought of her advising on the security of even a landfill site, let alone the nation shows the comic genius of our Dear Leader.*

It really feels like he’s intentionally picking the worst possible people for the various jobs. I’ve never felt like that with any President, even Clinton. I may have loathed some of CLinton’s people but most of them seemed competent. King Food Stamp’s courtiers seem more like court jesters then anything else. Did anyone see Hagel in Afghanistan over the weekend- apparently there were some bombings and he made some comment about how he was really surprised that kind of thing was happening in Afghanistan. I wish I could find the clip. Mind bogglingly stupid.
