The federal government wants to grant itself monopolistic power over border security? Fine. It had better do its job, then.
Honestly, I wish more states would take on the federal leviathan. I want to see federal departments sued on issues of constitutional authority, I want to see states refuse to comply with federal mandates, I want to hear of governors refusing to take federal money for projects they don’t want and that their states don’t need.
Enough is enough. We have a Constitution. And I’m tired of the left telling us the thing must live just so they can continue to torture the poor thing.
Hard to argue with the notion that Arizona is being invaded, even if it’s an unarmed one –for now.
I want to see the current Governor of Arizona run for the open senate seat vacated by Mr. Kyl.
Gotta luv some of the lefty comments on that thread …”its a phony lawsuit because stats show border crime is down and
illegal alienundocumented migrants aren’t coming”first off, what is the definition of “border crime”? As Brewer points out, 80 miles NORTH of the border the government warns Americans to stay out. Yet if crime is taking place in that no-man’s land, is it a “border crime” even as it IS 80 miles from the border.
I think not.
second, yes, there is less illegal migration north — not because of any increased border security but because the American economy is in the tank. NO JOBS.
Sheesh!
So the best remedy for illegal immigration is 40% unemployment I would say. As to states suing the federales, forget about it. The deck is stacked. But refusing cash for programs? Great idea.
Barring all that, I say we go all Zoro on their asses.
Why would she want to be in the Senate?
The left will try to prop up Gabby Giffords for Kyl’s seat. Without a doubt.
Yikes. I suspect Rep. Giffords is too decent a person to play along with such a thing though.
Your naivety amuses. Giffords will be nominated even if she has major mental deficiencies from the injuries and it would be a horrible disabled-phobia to challenge her. Hell, even challenging her to a debate will be in poor taste as they could claim you just wanted to highlight her difficulties.
That’s called the “Tim Johnson” maneuver.
If anything, such hypothetical injuries would make her slightly overqualified for the Senate (especially so long as Harry Reid still presides) — though a better fit there than in the House.
Hypothetical deficiencies is what I meant.
Guess what is being proposed by the new Governator in Wisconsin:
Oops, forgot linky time.
