Karma Offset [Dan Collins]

Hot on the heels of the news that The One’s Treasury Secretary nominee forgot to pay back taxes until the day before his nomination was announced, and also employed an undocumented housecleaner, comes this news, via Gateway Pundit:

It was reported yesterday that Barack Obama picked a radical socialist as his climate czar. Carol Browner belongs to organizations that call for “global governance” and demand that rich countries shrink their economies to address climate change. But since her pick, Mrs. Browner’s name and biography had been removed from socialist web pages.

Well, now it was discovered that this same radical eco-socialist is a board member of one of the leading carbon offset trading companies, APX!

Well, boy, howdy! What does all this mean? It means, of course, that Democratic lawmakers might investigate the Bush detention and torture policies.

Bernanke thinks it’s important to remove the toxic assets from American financial institutions and store them at Yucca Mountain, much to the chagrin of environmentalists. Rather than purchase the carbon credits that Carol Browner touted,

“The explosive growth in environmental commodities trading will result in a greater need for market oversight. APX’s cutting-edge technology provides integrity and transparency, which are essential to the efficient and effective operations of these markets. APX is a world-class environmental infrastructure company with a long history of public private partnership, and I look forward to helping them capitalize on the full potential of these markets.”

I think that it might be nice for skanky pols–Rangel comes to mind–to cut out the middlemen and purchase Fair Trade Karma Offsets directly from third-world indigenous peoples. Such as The One’s half-bro.

Jesus’ genitals, don’t they vet these people?

The real tragedy would be if we turned to nuclear energy and cut good folks like APX out.

Aw, she’s just trying to do well by doin’ good, Dan.

O! will be focused like a laser on the economy; or at least appear to be…

They’ll wait to revisit the Boooooosh! war crimes canard until such time that they need to re-ignite sagging nutroot support for the one…

And as far as this Browner woman goes; typical left-wing hypocrisy…

Looks like it’s time for a new bumpersticker; “Who’s profiting off global warming!!1!1!eleventy”

I’ll put it right next to the one that reads; “Dissent is the highest form of patriotism!” and “Question authority!”…

    On my Hummer…

Has anyone else noticed that all of these wonderful government programs that The One has teed up for us – tax increases, socialized medicine, etc. – are being put on hold because of the weak economy? Is it just me, or is this an admission that they are not, as advertised, beneficial in any economy?

You’re assuming those doing the vetting would find these issues problematic. Seriously — would an obamaton be troubled by someone being a member of a socialist organization, or being on the board of a green-scam company?

They’d be more likely to be upset if they found one of the potential nominees had said a kind word about Bush.

  7. Bob Reed says:

    Bmoe,
You’re right, my turn of the phrase was laughable!

    Rob,
Good point; exhibit A is Al Gore!

  8. Sarcastic Troll says:

Huh. Maybe you should win a few elections first before whining about Karma, tough guy.

“…this same radical eco-socialist is a board member of one of the leading carbon offset trading companies, APX!”

OMG a capitalist socialist. Or a socialist capitalist.

    Oh, I’m so confuzzled.

  10. geoffb says:

    “don’t they vet these people?”

Of course they do, just not like we expect. The Democrats use the same system as the USSR did/does.

They have a “nomenklatura”, a list of names of approved people. Ones who are loyal to the Party above all else. That’s the vetting process. It’s also why they have such a shallow bench.

  11. B Moe says:

    Bmoe,
You’re right, my turn of the phrase was laughable!

That isn’t what I meant at all, I think he is focused on the economy, and he is turning to folks like Limbaugh for advice. The laughter was at all the leftards pissing themselves right now.

Wow, Dan, guess he told you.

Maybe you should see how Obama pans out before declaring the New Millenium, tough guy. Even messiahs have a shelf-life.

“He’s the Messiah! I should know, I’ve followed enough of them!”

  16. SDN says:

Sarcastic Troll, we won quite a number of elections, until enough foreign donations bought you one.

  17. happyfeet says:

The interrogation policies that the Bush administration has used in Guantanamo include the waterboarding, or simulated drowning, of three detainees.

Find me where NPR was clear before the election that there were only three waterboarded detainees. Loathsome.

  18. Bob Reed says:

NPR made it sound like waterboarding was a standard part of the Gitmo orientation…

  19. Sdferr says:

“in Guantanomo” is pretty inapt, I think, as those three instances very likely didn’t in fact take place in Guantanamo at all. Rather I think they may have happened in Pak or in one of those secret holding places in Eastern Europe or maybe even somewhere else.

  20. Pablo says:

Find me where NPR was clear before the election that there were only three waterboarded detainees. Loathsome.

And while you’re at it, find me the part where anyone was waterboarded at Gitmo. It’s like they’re not even trying to get it right.

  21. Pablo says:

Rather I think they may have happened in Pak or in one of those secret holding places in Eastern Europe or maybe even somewhere else.

Right, in CIA custody, not at Gitmo.

  22. geoffb says:

It isn’t like they haven’t turned on a dime before on this subject. It just depends on the (D) and (R) factor. Party uber alles you know.

  23. geoffb says:

If they keep turning this fast the centripetal force of the “change” is going to cause massive damage to the “hope”.

  24. Spec4 qt says:

They died at Guantanamo. We did too. Treating humans this way? Separate them from their GOD? Is that really what the 2ndLui said the FLBirde said? Now we are being separated from our God (Money). They won, thanks PrezW and co. They couldn’t have done it without you!
