Francesca Segal Doesn’t Feel Safe [Dan Collins]

in the UK?

In August 2001, I turned 21 and my parents gave me a Star of David necklace. Then a month later, the world changed and my mother, with remarkable foresight, began her campaign to rescind the gift, begging me to take it off because she was frightened it would make me a target in the wake of mounting evidence that fanatical Islamism was tightening its grip on the country. My argument was always the same – when I am no longer safe being identifiably Jewish on the tube, I don’t want to live in England.

Now it’s happening and I am devastated. It was bluster. I am resolutely, irreducibly British. I love Marmite and Labradors and Sunday lunch. If you step on my foot, I will reflexively apologise. New York, where I will go if I have to leave the UK, does not feel like home for me nor, I suspect, could it ever. But as the British establishment sides with the appeasing of Islamism at home and abroad and as the word Zionism is increasingly bastardised, hijacked by a new definition comprising traditional antisemitic libels and demonising conspiracy theories, and as the liberal media and campaigning groups single out Israel disproportionately among all other countries for criticism, perpetuating the myth that Israel is responsible for mushrooming anti-western sentiment, I feel increasingly that I cannot stay.

Wherefor should that be? You’re welcome here in Vermont, Francesca. Except for Burlington, of course. And the Marmite. (h/t Hot Air Headlines)

From LGF, Doctors Without Shame:

At Erik Svansbo’s Sweidsh blog, more information about the pro-terrorist agenda of Mads Gilbert, the doctor seen in that staged video from a Gaza hospital: Doctor in CNN video outspoken communist and pro-terror.

The doctor’s colleague actually told the Aftonbladet newspaper that spreading pro-Hamas propaganda is more important to them than their medical work—and the Norwegian organization for which they work is a partner with Hezbollah’s “Martyr Foundation.”

In Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Mads Gilbert’s norwegian colleague Erik Fosse reported about his work in Gaza:

Two Norwegian doctors have worked hard for seven days to save lives in Gaza. But to report to the outside world about what is happening in the war assessing the more important. – “Our witness function and to convey what is actually happening have been more important,” says the doctor Erik Fosse to VG Nett.

It seems also that Pam Geller wants publicly to flog Charles Johnson, which could lead to more paid subscriptions for PJM (wink wink).

Christopher Hitchens:

“Sic semper tyrannis”—or so it is said that the posturing, histrionic, racist murderer John Wilkes Booth managed to yell from the stage at Ford’s Theatre. If given a blind test and asked which “tyrannical” president had suspended the writ of habeas corpus, closed the most newspapers, arrested the most political rivals, opened and censored the most mail and executed the most American citizens without trial, few students would mention the “Great Emancipator” as the original supremo of big government. But the facts must be faced, as Lincoln faced them. Until the Union itself could be considered safe and whole again, the Constitution—written for the entire Union and, in a sense, representing it—did not really apply, even though the president’s “inherent powers” most certainly did. (I give this as my own interpretation, as well as to distinguish Lincoln’s drastic emergency measures from some later and more recent ones. Hateful and menacing as it is, Islamic terrorism does not immediately threaten us with secession and disunion and the reduction of millions of Americans to involuntary servitude.)

Oh, but give it time, Christopher.

  1. Cowboy says:

Take a look at the comments in the Guardian piece.

If she needed any more proof of anti-Semitism, even the comments that weren’t purged are pretty good evidence.

  2. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

The UK has always had a nasty undercurrent of antisemitism.

  3. ushie says:

Let her and all the other Jews move here. They’d balance out the undesireables who keep wandering in willy-nilly.

Fuck all who work for Hamas. I keep getting “charity” messages begging money from me to help the poor “gazans.” Fuck them and fuck them, too.

  4. There’s definitely a chill about. “Back to the ovens” can do that to person, and I’m not Jewish.

  5. Log Cabin says:

I have never understood modern anti-semitism. Where are the gangs of Jewish youths terrorizing the parks and subways? Where are the floods of Jews pouring into western nations, demanding welfare benefits and public schooling in Hebrew? Where are the Jewish terror groups, hijacking aircraft and bombing shopping malls?

Those rascals, who are less than %1 of %1 of the world’s population, just want to be left in peace in their tiny sliver of a nation.

Outside of Israel, Jews generally work hard, have traditional family lives, and hope their sons become doctors or lawyers. Now that’s oppression.

Oh, the horror of it all!

  6. Bob Reed says:

    Excellent points Log Cabin…

  7. Dan Collins says:

You’ve obviously never been terrorized by a Hasidic moped gang.

  8. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

The same is true of Indians, Chinese, Koreans…

All manage to be very successful, and it’s not because there’s no racial prejudice against them.

Maybe it has something to do with being brought up with a moral compass and family values that emphasize education?

    Nah, couldn’t be.

  9. parsnip says:

The UK has always had a nasty undercurrent of antisemitism.

Yeah, remember when they created Israel even after being attacked by Zionist terrorists for years?

    How anti-semitic of them.

  10. ushie says:

Oh, good GAD, Snippy. Christ on a sandwich, pick up a history book.

  11. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

I’m not reading nipply, so I’m not sure what stupidity it excreted.

However, to clarify what ushie just said: Howard Zinn and Michael Parenti don’t count.

  12. Log Cabin says:

“The root with no friends” has no need of history, people.

It has “The Narrative” and fantasies of “The One” to fulfill it’s needs.

  13. Sdferr says:

Here’s an account of Antisemitism in English culture, for anyone who happens to be interested.

  14. parsnip says:

I’m not reading nipply, so I’m not sure what stupidity it excreted.

Your pals are just trying to deny the existence of groups like Irgun and Lehi, SBP.

  15. Dan Collins says:

What? Still no protesters like the brave ones in Sderot?

  16. Your pals are just trying to deny the existence of groups like Irgun and Lehi, SBP.

    wow, link?

  17. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

Save your breath, nipply. You have nothing to say that’s of the slightest concern to me.

I don’t even see your stuff unless someone else quotes it.

  18. geoffb says:

“Maybe it has something to do with being brought up with a moral compass and family values that emphasize education?”

It not only explains the successful part but is also a reason for the prejudice along with envy over the success that those moral and family values bring.

  19. steveaz says:

What’s up with these Norwegian doctors?

I say, audit the f_ckers: follow the money. I’ll bet you anything they’re being paid to pull off their advocacy. Whether it’s in hard cash or by favors, like full scholarships for their mediocre kids to attend “perstige” universities – no matter, let’s find the slime trail and follow it whereever it leads.

It’s amazing what people will do for a million Euro’s, or a Pullitzer prize, or to shake hands with Michael Jackson. What a bunch of fawning d_ckwads!

  20. Ric Locke says:

Maggie, Irgun and Lehi aren’t exactly secrets. One Menachem Begin was a nasty character in his youth.

But you have to “reason” from the fixed pole of the jimmah/monkyboy Universe: violence is always and absolutely wrong, and anyone who uses it is evil.

Under that rubric, if attacked with violence, a Good Person has exactly three options:
    (1) Put up a passive barrier that will absorb the attack;
    (2) Run away; or
    (3) Yield and/or die.

If the person being attacked responds with any form of violence, he moves instantaneously from “Good” to “Evil”, and the situation simply devolves into two evils combatting one another, which the “pacifists” we are describing aren’t interested in. It is even more distressing to them when a “Good” person or group flips over to “Evil” in that context, because it is a net loss of Good in the World. The attackers, on the other hand, can and probably should employ any tactic they like, up to and including genocide. They are already Evil, and cannot be made more so — it’s an absolute.

Note that number three is the most virtuous option, since the attacker will see the carnage, repent of his violence, and become peaceful. (No, really — and they can pull out-of-context quotes from many philosophers, notably Mohandas Ghandi, to support it. Gandhi himself would not agree, and in fact vented a good bit of spleen on cursing people who accused him of that position.)

Note, too, that Option One is problematic. The barrier, to be considered a valid “defense” in that context, must not cause the slightest harm to the attacker — it must simply absorb the attack with no resulting harm on either side. If it results in so much as an inflamed hangnail on the part of the attacker, it is “violent” and the putative defenders move instantaneously to the “Evil” category.

How the “get bin Laden” meme applies is left as an exercise for the student. Hint: it involves the one and only thing in all the world that George W. Bush and monkyboy agree upon.

    Regards,
    Ric

  21. B Moe says:

violence is always and absolutely wrong, and anyone who uses it is evil.

Well, any white person. It seems to be expected of all others.

  22. parsnip says:

    Aaah Ric,

My favorite wingnut blowhard getting it exactly wrong once again.

Don’t you ever get tired setting up your straw men?

  23. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

It seems to be expected of all others.

    Soft bigotry of low expectations.

  24. qwfwq says:

Yeah, lately the UK has started looking pretty 1938.

alphie, no one cares what you think.

  25. urthshu says:

Dunno how she’d get along in NY, as the judenhass seems to be picking up here as well. ‘course I’m in upstate, not in NYC where of course that stuff never happens.

  26. Maggie, Irgun and Lehi aren’t exactly secrets.

erm, that wasn’t the point, Rick. the thing is, parsnip tends to read a lot of stuff that nobody else can see in the comments. I’m not sure how bringing Irgun and Lehi up shows that England doesn’t have a history of anti-semitism.

  27. Dan Collins says:

More to the point, urthshu . . . what should she say in NYC if someone steps on her foot?

  28. ushie says:

I think the Jews of Britain should set up balloon fences around their homes and places of work…

  29. Sdferr says:

She should say “Eat Marmite and die motherfucker!”

  30. dre says:

    white veggie

Do you root for the thugs in “Death Wish”?

  31. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

    I kinda like Marmite, actually.

The trick is to apply a very thin layer to toast. Don’t slather it on like jam, and don’t get your tastebuds set for something sweet. It’s more like a gravy experience.

OT: Gaberiel Malor at AoSHQ has a good roundup of Teh ONE!!!’s broken promises thus far.

Odds that another appointee will get thrown under the bus before the 20th? Pretty good, I’d say.

  32. parsnip says:

Are you calling the members of Irgun and Lehi “thugs” dre?

You know, Israel gave them medals for their terrorism.

    Show some respect.

  33. urthshu says:

Joking aside, Dan, a lot of people seem to regard Jews as the ‘canary in the coalmine’ for judging societal unrest. So, if we’re at the point now where yelling for the deaths of Jews in broad daylight within view of the police results in nothing at all, one could legitimately wonder where its all leading to, and how fast.

  34. geoffb says:

“The barrier, to be considered a valid “defense” in that context, must not cause the slightest harm to the attacker — it must simply absorb the attack with no resulting harm on either side.”

The people who believe such a thing can exist have been watching too much Star Trek and even there not understanding it.

Even with the Quakers there is the old joke that goes; “Friend, I would not hurt thee for the world, but thou art standing where I wouldst shoot.”

  35. Pablo says:

snippy has an amazing knack for reading things that don’t exist into questions that are posed to him. And speaking of things that don’t exist, Irgun and Lehi qualify.

  36. Pablo says:

Oh, and then not answering those questions. How could I almost forget that?

  37. B Moe says:

If you want to go back to the beginning of this mess tuber, let’s go all the way back to where it started.

  38. parsnip says:

    That’s nice, B Moe,

And Lehi was killing British soldiers during WWII while Britain was trying to save European Jews from the Nazis.

So the founders of Israel and the founders of Palestine both worked for the Nazis.

Is that a problem for you?

  39. B Moe says:

The founders of Israel worked for the Nazis. That is what you are bringing today?

  40. Techie says:

    Ignore the trolls.

  41. parsnip says:

    Yep,

And I think playing the victim card in Britain is rather in poor taste, considering.

  42. SarahW says:

Vegemite is way better than marmite. But of course the technique is correct: The thinnest coating possible, over butter if spread on bread or pastry. Marmite is good with a sweet complement, like marmalade. Vegemite is not good that way.

  43. SarahW says:

Vegemite should be eaten with a funny one-side-pinned-up cowboy hat, next to a kangaroo or dolphin or Tim Blair.

  44. dre says:

    go steelers

  45. JPS says:

“playing the victim card in Britain is rather in poor taste, considering.”

Ah. So some Jews, in Great Britain, have no right to point out that they’re facing more hostility in Britain because other Jews, two generations ago, killed British soldiers?

By Parsnip logic [I use the term loosely], then, all Americans are justified in hating Muslims, and it would be in poor taste for Muslims to complain.

Personally I don’t agree. But thanks for your syllogism, which made me laugh.

  46. daleyrocks says:

Did you know that 70% of American Jews vote Democrat? 111!!!eleventy!!!

  47. Pablo says:

And I think playing the victim card in Britain is rather in poor taste, considering.

So, a wholly British Jew should shut up about racist victimization because, you know, Irgun. Is that what you’re saying, tuber?

  48. parsnip says:

    Um,

Darling Francesca hasn’t actually suffered any actual “racist victimization” herself, Pablo.

She’s just playing the victim card based on anecdotal data.

  49. Dan Collins says:

Like, if you display an Israeli flag you’ll be warned by the police against inciting violence, but it’s okay to wave a Hamas flag.

  50. Dan Collins says:

    And shout, “Death to Jews!”

  51. Joe says:

Especially since Christopher Hitchens now describes himself of being Jewish by origin (I think his maternal grandmother). Guess what, radical Islam likes to kill athiests and Jews. That makes Hitchens a twofer.

  52. Pablo says:

I don’t believe she’s called herself a victim and I didn’t say she was one. How is she playing the victim card?

  53. Pablo says:

But as the British establishment sides with the appeasing of Islamism at home and abroad and as the word Zionism is increasingly bastardised, hijacked by a new definition comprising traditional antisemitic libels and demonising conspiracy theories, and as the liberal media and campaigning groups single out Israel disproportionately among all other countries for criticism, perpetuating the myth that Israel is responsible for mushrooming anti-western sentiment, I feel increasingly that I cannot stay.

That, btw, is not anecdotal. It’s pervasive and systemic.

  54. parsnip says:

That, btw, is not anecdotal. It’s pervasive and systemic.

It’s a political screed written by a self-interested and childish right wing extremist, Pablo.

Interesting that she wants to come to America, not Israel.

    So much for marketing, what?

  55. Darleen says:

I dont see Ms. Segal playing any victim card for herself, but then again, she’s a Jewish Jew and for Jewish-Jew haters that is enough to dismiss any word from her on Jewish Jews’ behalf.

  56. pincer movement says:

Hey, some of my best friends are Norwegian doctors.

  57. P.J. says:

What in her comments makes her a “childish right wing extremist?” I honestly didn’t get that from the quoted text.

  58. Pablo says:

It’s a political screed written by a self-interested and childish right wing extremist, Pablo.

And you base that assessment on what, exactly?

  59. Pablo says:

    Jews all vote Democrat, right?

  60. Jack says:

I read her whole article. The closing sentence that was left out was: “None of this should be happening in the UK…I and all of the Jews I know voted liberal…”

  61. daleyrocks says:

“It’s a political screed written by a self-interested and childish right wing extremist”

snippy – How can she be a right wing extremist when you keep reminding us several times each thread, although I beat you to the punch this thread, that Jews vote Democrat? When she moves here she’ll be as big an anarchist as you.

  62. parsnip says:

Nice of Darleen to show up to administer the loyalty oaths.

  63. daleyrocks says:

Jack – Thanks for that. Intellectual consistency is not one of snippy’s strengths. Intellect, in fact, is not even in evidence.

  64. Darleen says:

the vegetable of pallor is whining non-sequitors. How unsurprising.

  65. Darleen says:

    daley

Segal self-identifies as an ‘assimilated’ liberal Brit, but she wears a Star of David and doesn’t buy the line that Zionism=racism … thus making her one of those ‘bad’ Jewish Jews who, according to the veggie of pallor, should, like, shut up or join the rest of the “right wing extremist Jews” in the Big Oven.

  66. dre says:

“Interesting that she wants to come to America, not Israel.”

Because one has 5.2 million Jews and the other has 5.3 million Jews.
    ?

  67. B Moe says:

Don’t pay any attention to parsnip’s post, it’s a political screed written by a self-interested and childish left wing extremist, Pablo.

Interesting that she wants to come to America, not Israel.

Yeah, if I were a Jew feeling threatened by Islamic extremists, Israel would be the first place I would think of moving to. You really are thick as a fucking brick, aren’t you?

  68. pincer movement says:

I dont[sic] see Ms. Segal playing any victim card for herself, but then again, she’s a Jewish Jew and for Jewish-Jew haters that is enough to dismiss any word from her on Jewish Jews’ behalf.

Occasionally questioning Israeli policy does not automatically make one anti-Jewish. I understand what makes the world simpler for you and the amateur class of political strategists, but it doesn’t really help matters.

  69. Pablo says:

Occasionally questioning Israeli policy does not automatically make one anti-Jewish.

That isn’t the topic. She’s talking about taking out exception to Israeli policy on any and all Jews, in Britain.

  70. Darleen says:

    pincer

Are you a sock puppet or just new to the blog?

It’s really not too hard … if “occassionally questiong Israeli policy” offered in good faith (ie holding other nations to the same standards) then no, it isn’t anti-Semitism. But the “Zionism = racism” or slamming Israel first, foremost and almost exclusively while ignoring the behaviors of those trying to destroy Israel is anti-Semitism.

  71. Dan Collins says:

Kill the Jews isn’t questioning Israeli policy.

  72. Pablo says:

I understand what makes the world simpler for you and the amateur class of political strategists, but it doesn’t really help matters.

    Indeed.

  73. N. O'Brain says:

    ” It’s more like a gravy experience.”

I like gravy on bread for desert.

It’s a Depression thing I got from my Mom.

  74. N. O'Brain says:

You believed Neville Chamberlain, didn’t you, you retarded marmoset?

  75. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

I understand what makes the world simpler for you and the amateur class of political strategists

Actually, I understand what makes the world less noisy when facing an infestation of amateur trolls.

    It’s called TrollHammer.

    Buh-bye.

  76. Jeffersonian says:

And you base that assessment on what, exactly?

The fact that she describes herself as a liberal, secularized Jew early on in the piece. You know how those Je…er, Zionists lie.

  77. mcgruder says:

Pincer, as a frequent poster here and all around Bush-basher, i have no problem with some principled dissent on any subject, or pointed commentary on Isreali policy snafus. Nor does anyone else.

But the point of the thread was that in England, which has always had an at best indifferent attitude toward Jews (as a former history grad student, trust me, none of the papers being submitted arguing that ALlied bombers should have bombed the death camp railway lines in ’44 came from England), outright anti-semitic views and behavior are becoming quite accepted.

it is clear that unless the woman is a raging grade one hysteric, it wont be long until they have a problem a la the Jews of paris have—they shouldnt really be seen or heard. for their own good. And that is a big, big problem.

Western civ is predicated on tolerance. The cornerstones are publicly crumbling and with respect, you honestly might be better served with less parsing of debate nuances and more fretting about why a pretty woman with a star of david around her neckk thinks she is going to get her fucking head caved in during broad daylight in the citadel of western multicultural tolerance—and no gives a crap except on a few US-based blogs that are broadly aligned with the minority political party.

    cheers.

  78. pincer movement says:

But the “Zionism = racism” or slamming Israel first, foremost and almost exclusively while ignoring the behaviors of those trying to destroy Israel is anti-Semitism.

I suppose that depends on one’s perception of “good faith” in terms of a right/left ratio.

My general experience with right-leaning blogs is that even the tiniest criticism of Israel results in a sarcastic accusation of not loving “teh jooos” sufficiently.

And as far as I know, Jeff Rense has the only popular website where the concept of “Zionism = racism” is openly discussed.

  79. Jeffersonian says:

And as far as I know, Jeff Rense has the only popular website where the concept of “Zionism = racism” is openly discussed.

I gather you haven’t been to Democratic Underground, Democrats.com or dKos yet.

  80. Darleen says:

Jeff Rense has the only popular website where the concept of “Zionism = racism” is openly discussed.

That wasn’t the only criteria of anti-Semitism offered. Specifically, one has people like Noam Chomsky openly advocating that Israel cease to exist in order to “cure” the ills of the world. Then there are those that make excuses for Hamas and Hezbollah and absolutely refuse to take those terrorist organizations at their word that the annihilation of Israel and Jews is their primary goal.

When Israel is talked about as The World’s Jew, then the talkers have entered the realm of Judenhass.

  81. Dan Collins says:

Sorry pincers, but if you go over to Tigerhawk’s blog, you’ll find out just how serious these Palestinians are about a two-state solution. Meanwhile, the Hamas supporters protesting in the EU can’t seem to prevent themselves from physically assaulting counter-demonstrators or burning synagogues, or cars, or throwing rocks, or brandishing guns, or shouting “Death to Jews.”

And you don’t give a fuck.

  82. pincer movement says:

I gather you haven’t been to Democratic Underground, Democrats.com or dKos yet.

Not exactly on my reading list, but no doubt you have specific examples.

    Good faith and all that.

  83. Pablo says:

Jeff Rense has the only popular website where the concept of “Zionism = racism” is openly discussed.

    Have at it.

  84. Dan Collins says:

BTW, you can just go read what’s not been nuked of the comments to the article at The Guardian, if you prefer.

  85. Sdferr says:

Think of Francesca as you might an early adopter of some new technology or other, so it may happen she proves to be in on the ground floor at some small cost to herself or then again it may not so prove.

    Or better yet……

Think of Francesca as you might some fortunate Jew in Germany, 1933, who, looking around at the lay of the land in her nation thought to herself, hmmm, the way things seem to be going I think I may emigrate to the USA, if I can first get myself out of here and into France, then Spain, who’s ultimate fate we would not be able to ken in 1938, although by then perhaps we could say that she has made a nice life for herself in the Bronx……….

  86. mcgruder says:

Pincer dude, you got a serious beef with israeli policy? ok, i’ll see that and raise you. they bring a fair amount of the hassles upon themselves–essentially a European socialist state that takes way too many cues from the state department—not my cup of chowder.

but in comparison to the ninth century set theyre up against (Ninth century meets der sturmer and such is more like it)
    and im a raving Zioninst.

now can you get back to the article and the collapse of the west…or are you here to play the victim card?

because if you are, your both boring and in the wrong place.

  87. dre says:

Pam Geller wants publicly to flog Charles Johnson,

I think CJ should be flogged for his knee jerk cries of FASCISM.

  88. geoffb says:

“Zionism = racism” google search, 58,200 results.

  89. geoffb says:

    Slow typing again.

  90. Pablo says:

I think CJ should be flogged for his knee jerk cries of FASCISM.

I think Charles has made his case against Vlaams Belang rather comprehensively. And Pamela has been rather…unhinged…from the outset.

  91. mcgruder says:

pam geller is a study of the power of blogs. a mediocre wit with not an original bone in her body, the only attraction she has is what appears to be a remarkable pair of breasts and her willingness to talk about politics while in a bikini.

in other words, despite a voice like Rhoda’s from the old sitcom and a blog that appears written with her feet, she gets hits because she has cantelopes. She is proof that way too many on the right arent getting enough sex.

  92. mcgruder says:

Dre, i think Charles Johnson has more than stood up his accusations.
Those Euro-rightists are an ugly set.

  93. Dan Collins says:

It’s okay, mcgruder. Word is intelligent men produce more sperm. Which, BTW, is why I don’t post my photo on the internet: I’m THAT SMART.

  94. steveaz says:

    Darleen, #65,
Non-sequiturs, steamed and with butter on top, taste better than a woody root any ol’ day.

  95. Pablo says:

in other words, despite a voice like Rhoda’s from the old sitcom and a blog that appears written with her feet, she gets hits because she has cantelopes.

Damn, I wish I’d said that. Though I’m not sure you can get those 27 different font colors with your tootsies. Maybe she does that with her tits.

  96. dre says:

“I think Charles has made his case against Vlaams Belang rather comprehensively”

I think his “case” is really weak.

  97. dre says:

“Those Euro-rightists are an ugly set.”

So the BNP who defends Israel’s right to exist is uglier than the Islamic/moonbats/commies telling “jews to the oven”?

  98. Darleen says:

“I do believe that Zionism, the ideology that started the movement which led to the establishment of Israel is a racist ideology”

I don’t expect the above dailykos entry to last long. Markos has a habit of tossing down the memory hole anything that highlights his sites thinnly veiled anti-Semitism … LGF captured a screenshot of another kosskiddie “Zionism was and remains a racist ideology”

  99. Pablo says:

So the BNP who defends Israel’s right to exist is uglier than the Islamic/moonbats/commies telling “jews to the oven”?

It isn’t a “one or the other” proposition.

  100. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

The BNP is a whites-only party.

    They’re scum.

  101. Jeffersonian says:

Thank you for saving me the search, Darleen. I thought the documentation of the rabid anti-semitism was so solid that it was virtually a “gimme,” honestly.

  102. mcgruder says:

Dre, I think the islamists are the worse of the two choices you posed.
but as a white of recent European ancestry, i think there is little common cause that should be made with this lot.
we can win this fight without them.

  103. dre says:

“The BNP is a whites-only party.”

“The British National Party exists to secure a future for the indigenous peoples of these islands in the North Atlantic which have been our homeland for millennia.”

So the indigenous people in Britain should just roll over and die when confronted with the multiculti Left?

  104. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

    Buh-bye, dre.

  105. Pablo says:

So the indigenous people in Britain should just roll over and die when confronted with the multiculti Left?

Again, it’s not an either/or proposition.

  106. Darleen says:

    dre

The BNP asserts that there are biological racial differences that determine the behaviour and character of individuals of different races,

Um, dear, when one asserts that melanin level dictates the morals/character of individuals then that is racism.

It is one thing to form a party based on shared values and ideals, but not melanin.

  107. Sdferr says:

No, they should get on with wooing their multiculti-lefti daughters and sons and be about making mashed up little grey-brown conservatives speaking indeciferable English.

  108. Darleen says:

    You’re just proving my point.

How? You asked for a link, I gave it. Or do you not think those two bits were anti-Semitic?

And tu quoque arguments are not going to make it, pincer.

Are you here to engage in debate or to become a troll?

  109. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

For those who may not be familiar with the BNP:

Besides their charming “whites only” membership policy, until quite recently they were actively denying that the Holocaust took place.

They also supported the forced deportation of all non-whites, regardless of where they were born (or how many generations their ancestors happened to have lived in Britain).

They’ve cleaned up their act a bit in recent years, now claiming that they only “encourage” the “repatriation” of non-whites.

    They’re still scum, though.

  110. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

Are you here to engage in debate or to become a troll?

    It’s clearly a troll.

I made a New Year’s resolution to not allow trolls to waste any more of my time. I’ve slipped once or twice, but so far I’ve been doing pretty well.

I encourage others to do the same.

  111. Pablo says:

Besides their charming “whites only” membership policy, until quite recently they were actively denying that the Holocaust took place.

Yeah, because they, like Vlaams Belang, lurvs them some Israel.

  112. dre says:

    By to you too.

    mcgruder
“we can win this fight without them”

  113. Pablo says:

Who is the “we”. Democrats? The Labour Party in the UK, or is it the Liberals in Canada, or the Socialists in Spain?

How many of those do you suppose you’re talking to here, dre?

  114. parsnip says:

So you’re saying Hamas has already won the population war, Bmoe?

  115. geoffb says:

I see the LGF vs Atlas Shrugged as a difference between one side that believes that the fight between Islam and the rest of the world is not an imminent threat to themselves and loved ones (LGF) and the other side (Atlas)believes that it is imminent and personally threatening. Any ally is preferable to being destroyed. See Stalin and WWII.

I don’t see that apocalypse as imminent yet. Homegrown socialists worry me more. But if I was Jewish, lived in NYC and was inclined to consider the entirely plausible idea of Iran with nukes, I’d be looking for allies too. A drowning man will grab anything afloat.

The only beneficiaries of this fight are the anti-Semitic Left, who watch, chortle, and gloat.

  116. dre says:

    How sad.

  119. Pablo says:

But separate identities are not preserved by building integrationist institutions, including political parties. To do so would turn us into another cog in the global liberal capitalist identity-destroying machine, part of the old problem, not part of the new solution. For that reason (and because maintaining our stance as the defenders of an ethnically-defined British family of nations gives our members protection from unfair dismissal at work under Racial Discrimination Laws) we do not have, and will not have, any non-white or Muslim members.*

  120. B Moe says:

So you’re saying Hamas has already won the population war, Bmoe?

No, that isn’t what I said at all. I suspect they are currently getting blowed up much faster than they are reproducing, in fact.

  121. Ric Locke says:

It should be noted that anti-Semitism is not, historically, a new phenomenon. More like the norm, if anything. What happened was that A. Hitler & Co. took it over the top, sufficiently to embarrass people. Now that his memory is no longer green, the situation is returning to the default.

Nor is the United States especially nice in that respect. We’ve never had official ghettos or pogroms or anything similar, but all-WASP clubs and political establishments were once the norm, and the story of the S.S. St. Louis should make anyone with a conscience cringe. It didn’t at the time, though.

As to why that is, I reckon Mark Twain had the broad outlines correct and many of the details. Little has materially changed since then, especially as regards attitudes. I do rather think Clemens was a bit over-rosy in his predictions, but that can be accounted for by his well-known unbridled optimism.

    Regards,
    Ric

So the fall you’re looking for is the mighty nuclear wind sort of fall coming from the east [Iran]? I guessing merely, since you’re a little vague about it, and since in the way of “spectacular falls”, I say the Shoah, though pre-Israel in the modern nationstate sense, is still one spectacular fall beyond my simple imagining, even though it already happened and seems hard to conceive out-doing’s possible.

  146. cynn says:

Oh, for god’s sake nothing that dire. I merely mean that Israel may be on its own for awhile. Somebody asked Jeff some time ago of the need for a disclaimer to warn-off those under 13-years, and now look what we have.

In your earlier attempt to use sarcasm in a rhetorical question it was pointed out that the logic, or root, of your sarcasm needs to make sense to have any effect. You initially reply as if you understand your miscalculated sarcasm, but proceed with more of the same mis-calibrations.

Minsk-area? Would Minsk be in Russia? No, it’s in Belarus, now isn’t it. Belarussian is how one describes a person from the Minsk-area.

Violent fantasies? Is sex exclusively violent? No. Does untamed pussy require chains? No. It requires a pubis hair trim and a proper stimulant.

Random blogs? I don’t need to search the archives. Bob Reed asked me about my trip to Jamaica, if I recall. My was a reply to his post. PW is a blog I’m very familiar with. Look up random in a random dictionary.

    And this:

I suspect she was suspicious of my natural inclination to local untamed mountain pussy. That’s what you get for sharing your fantasies. I’ve always wanted to have a village to a all night drum dance while I spear a virgin in a thatched hut, like every deserving White God gets to do.

The above’s obvious exaggerated tenor is common in intended humor. It wouldn’t even make my 80-year-old mom blush. It might confuzzle and cause confused giggles from one of my 13-year-old nephews thus I’ve no choice but to assume you must be right there with ’em age-wise.

Hitchens writes: “Until the Union itself could be considered safe and whole again, the Constitution—written for the entire Union and, in a sense, representing it—did not really apply”

He advances this claim in service of a laudable cause: opposition to Islamofacists and their sympathizers. But is it right? I don’t think a popular secession movement or foreign threat can render the government free of its Constitutional fetters, including the Bill of Rights, nor can I imagine how such a view can be sustained from the text of the Constitution as ratified by the States.

It is sometimes politically convenient for conservatives to advance the idea that the Constitution may disregarded by the President when he deems it necessary for the good of the country, but we should be wary of empowering that office too much, particularly in view of how fickle voters have occasionally chosen to fill it.

Just because Lincoln did it doesn’t make it right.

Agreed. And yet some–many liberals–would assume Lincoln into their heroic Pantheon. And the verdict of history has been kind.

Are you saying it didn’t happen?

Many jews wound up in Germany because of all the countries in eastern europe Germany had the fewest retrictions on jews.Jews could own real property. practice a trade, attend university, teach at a university for that matter, all without a princes permission or paying a bond. So naturally that ‘final solution’ thing came as quite a suprise.
    Why didn’t they fight back?
There wasn’t a tradition or culture of sporting arms amoung the German middle class, which the majority of jews belonged. Especially the urban middle class.

I dunno about that. I recall the left wingers in my high school classes damning Lincoln for being a horrible president. They seemed to be up in arms over him sponsoring the removal of Blacks to Liberia (which some historians believe was a concession to keep elements of his constituency from defecting.) They also claimed that he “lacked empathy” towards blacks – IIRC he supposedly liked minstrel shows and used racial slurs. Maybe my Leftist classmates were co-opting Southern Revivalists’ racist writings – this was circa 2000 after influential “Revisionist” Civil War scholarship made a comeback. Or maybe they simply found it expedient to judge a 19th Century Republican president according to modern standards. Either way, obsessive anti-Lincoln sentiment is another interesting point of contact between the far Left & Right.

  198. did you not get the memo, Nine-of-Diamonds?

  199. Trenchant Commentator says:

Having spent years in the ME making lots of money, I am more than a little familiar with muslim sand savages in their natural environment. It is notable that muslim sand savages turn ANY environment into a human cesspool of blood, hatred and misery. In point of fact, death cultists such as muslims actually ENJOY misery, hatred and hopelessness since it augurs so well for the “next life” – you know the one I mean, where 72 mustachioed virgins await every muslim with a hard-on for jihad and a stiff wee-wee (yup, Muzzies are kinda small ‘down there’ many have noted).

Frankly, as pronouncedly Islam-Free Zones, my family and I have adopted many new idioms to assert western civilization’s cultural supremacy here in America. For example, when discovering one is late for an appointment, we exclaim” “Wow! Mohammad fellates Jesus on Friday! I am running SO late…” Alternatively, renaming common household products can also prove civilizationally satisfying. in our home, toilet tissue has been rebranded “Koran pages” as in: “Honey, will you pick up a Koran. We’ve got nothing to wipe our arses with!”

It’s the LITTLE things that matter so MUCH, don’t you find?
