Happy Memorial Day!
Root’s conversation with moonbat:
â— 1970 Kenneth Thomas Kleppin from Milwaukee, WI born on 11/23/1949 holding the rank of SP5 in the Army is listed as Causality number 47915
The family of Kenny Kleppin wants no part of your cause. Nor does the family desire you to exploit his memory in this manner.
Thank You,
Matt & Jennifer (Kleppin) O’Coileain
New Berlin WI
My response:
As this information is part of the public record and my cause is to honor the dead, it will remain. If the family wants no part of honoring their family member then they are in need of great help. Vietnam was a tragic waste and so are the current illegal wars. You may wish to forget but true patriots do not.
A Proud Liberal
Above is my public response. I don’t know what you believe “my cause” is but it is only to honor those who gave their lives and not to ignore their sacrifice. I have family members on the Wall along with friends, all of whom were needlessly killed along with your family member. Let me ask a question, have you demanded his name be removed form the Vietnam Memorial Wall? What you ask of me is the same thing, his name is one 58,185 names that appear on the Wall and the same can be said of my blog. Do you really wish to suffer from Namnesia?

This statement is disingenuous: “If the family wants no part of honoring their family member then they are in need of great help”.
This statement indicates your cause: “Vietnam was a tragic waste and so are the current illegal wars”.
This statement is more subterfuge and indicates a lazy mind: “You may wish to forget but true patriots do not”.
Equating your blog with the Vietnam War Memorial is … well, incongruous. The highest order of invincible ignorance.
There is no discussing the merits of any line of thought with someone so vapid as yourself.
A good cure would be for you to spend your time reading and engaging in some rigorous introspection. But then, you might not like what you find when you stand next to yourself.
In your world, I imagine the ends justify the means. And that is resolutely sad.
Matt

Matt-
You are the one under self-delusion. The deaths of more 20 year olds should never be justified by the previous deaths of twenty year olds. I have spent more time in self-reflection than you can possibly imagine.
I see you found my blog with a Google search with fifteen returns. Did you request the removal of the name from the fist fourteen or just the one that made clear the death of your family member is dishonored by the current administration?
Put away your thesaurus and stop trying to justify the unjustifiable that has killed at least another 4,000 Americans and over 1,000,000 Iraqis. If the ends I try to justify is less killing then any means available are indeed fair game.

You need to take my advice on the reading and writing gig, as your email to me is nonsensical.
Additionally, you moron, you need to learn how to read your referrer traffic.
I searched for Uncle Kenny’s name and your hack of a “blog” page happened on page two of the serps.
Now move to San Francisco, join Code Pink, and get back to your 10,000 maniacs cassette taps, you mal-educated tripe-slinger.
If you wish to speak with me further, pls find me here: https://proteinwisdom.com
Tell em Root sent you.
Now go fuck yourself. Also, read more books.

ps. don’t forget your lithium.

Remark from Dan: I think that went pretty well, Matt, don’t you?
I bet after I read that what I’m gonna think is that it’s a pretty transparent effort to rob the U.S. of any salient role in the defeat of al Qaeda and frame it as a collapse from within. So Democrats are switching horses before November. Who could have seen that coming?
Dan
Maybe it’s just me, but do you have some hanging header tags? The font size on the first email is like HUGE!
If this is a war of ideas, it is their ideas, not the West’s, that matter. The U.S. government neither has the credibility nor the Islamic knowledge to effectively debate Al Qaeda’s leaders, but the clerics and militants who have turned against them do.
Bullshit. Don’t know enough about Islam. Bite me. We knew enough not to bend to so-call terrorism (a more appropriate term would be annoyism), and we know enough not to bother debating with a brick. Even so, bricks can be smashed. Observe: Al Qaeda being smashed, so much like a brick. Had Al Qaeda been successful, those minds wouldn’t have changed a bit. They’d have hopped right on that bandwagon. A bare US majority essentially hired the president it felt at the time best suited to do just that. Credit where it’s due. Otherwise, an excellent article.
The U.S. Government has all the credibility it needs in the middle east, because that’s a place where might makes right.
Most Muslims don’t debate nuance. They make declarative statements that are often followed by threats.
Muslims now recognize the United States fighting man and woman as ass kickers par excellence; the Iraq war has shattered the Muslim notion that America is a paper tiger. Muslims have turned against al Qaeda mainly because al Qaeda has lost. To a lesser extent, Muslims also reject al Qaeda’s brutality, but again, only in the context of al Qaeda’s defeat.
If al Qaeda had won, very few Muslims would’ve complained about their methods, any more than the average leftist would’ve.
The American trooper has supplanted the masked Islamic urban guerilla as the iconic middle-eastern fighter. That’s why young Arab men all over the middle east are now wearing U.S. Marine haircuts.
Look at the soldiers of the new Iraqi army. From a distance they’re physically indistinguishable from the American.
That was a deliberate choice that the Iraqis made, to look like the winners.
This is a huge victory. We need to savor it, and we need to grind it in the faces of the treasonous mainstream media and certain politicians who did everything in their power to undermine the mission.
Honor the servicemen and -women who brought about this victory. They never gave up, even when multitudes of fat, soft, selfish, childish, weak, dumb fellow citizens did.
Damn straight Tom W. Well said.
I’ve got relatives over in both Afghanistan and Iraq and this kind of BS where a moonbat uses them for propaganda is one of my bigger fears, looming larger than any of them being hurt, in fact. Its terrible to lose someone in war, but to have their memory spat on afterwards is more terrible still.
Cut it out if you have any decency whatsoever, ‘Proud Liberal’.

In memoriam to your loss, this day: Thank you, SP5 Kenny Kleppin. RIP
Hmmm… two comments in a row eaten by the spam trap.
Ask.com, Yahoo, and Dogpile.com all have special logos to observe Memorial Day.
Google, not so much.
Something to keep in mind when choosing a search engine in future.
Excellent,Tom. I read it aloud to my (ret Army) husband.
Root:
Well handled, brother.
Hope you and yours had a blessed Corpus Christi.
Enough! How many dead Iraqis? How many dead women and childern? Isn’t it funny how all the dead Iraqis are women and children? Wars need to be fought with ruthlessness, period. The minute you start limiting what soldiers can attack, you’re asking for an insurgency. You can’t bomb mosques, so that’s where they hide along with their weapons cache. You can’t bomb schools, so they hide there. Why not just say 10,000,000 Iraqis are dead, so our service men and women feel guilty about doing what they were asked to do, fight a war.
If the enemy is in a mosque or school, bomb it. The US didn’t bomb the Golden Mosque, the Iraqis did it themselves. We should have wiped out Fallujah, Basra, and Sadr City, then it would be over. Once the enemy knows you’re willing to actually kill them no matter where they are, they’ll surrender or die. The longer the war drags on, the longer people like “proud liberal” get to tell us (inaccurately I might add), how many women and children died. We may never see an unconditional surrender like WWII again. We’ll just hear about illegal wars, innocent body counts, and disdain from useless organizations like the UN.
War is hell, and innocent people die. That is a tragedy. But fighting to win will end the war sooner, rather than containing the insurgency, negotiating a cease-fire, and trying to distinguish the enemy after they’ve entrenched themselves deeper among the population and resumed the fighting.
If you really want to limit innocent death, fight to win. That’s the best way to end the war.
ANYONE who served honorably in ANY capacity deserves to be honored for that service–none more so than those who gave it all.
“The starting point has to be that jihad is legitimate, otherwise no one will listen, ” says Benotman, who sees the Iraqi insurgency as a legitimate jihad
And this guy spent how long in Old Blighty having ‘retired’ from the LIFG? Must have had a sweet pension plan, I wonder where he gets his funding now?
This is a slick and shallow attempt at re-marketing the same old same old. Honestly, these people aren’t so much appalled at all the innocents slaughtered as byt he fact that, well, it hasn’t been terribly effective.
He can wear a spiffy suit, and trim his beard all he wants, this asshole is still a deadly enemy of the West.
That’s absolutely true, Rob. Let’s talk brass tacks: If we chose to, we could have nuked major population centers when this began. We could have employed carpet bombing stratebies. Instead, our courageous men and women have put themselves at risk–and many have paid the ultimate price–to save noncombatant lives.
It hasn’t been our lack of military ability that has made this war last as long as it has. It has been the nobility of our cause, the high moral standards of our country, and the ethics of our fighting men and women that cause us to pursue victory with patience, temperance, and dignity.
And the war drags on, and more innocent lives are lost. More buildings and infrastructure are sabotaged while the US is further blamed for the quagmire. As soon as the Democrats get a veto-proof majority in Congress, and most likely that will happen in November, we’ll pull out and any hope of victory, i.e., an emerging Iraq able to sustain itself, will be turned into another “killing field”.
Another 5-10 years of war will only bring more death and hardship to Iraq, and the John Murtha’s of the world will brand our military murderers, and the UN will call us occupiers while tallying up the death toll.
When we ask our soldiers to fight, we should let them fight to win. No one considers WWII vets murderers when they bombed German cities or nuked Japan. The war was ended quickly and the people of Germany and Japan moved on with their lives. The same cannot be said of Vietnam vets. We let the left determine our service men and women’s fate in Vietnam, as well as their dignity, and look what happened. It’s never our lack of military ability, it’s the gutless politicians and their lack of resolve to see things through. The Powell Doctrine of “overwhelming force” is the most humane way to wage a war. Innocent people die in war. The shorter the war, the less innocent people are killed. BTW, does it make it any less moral if you starve to death during a war rather than being shot/bombed? There never seems to be a distinction in a body count!
“…current illegal war…” So APL wants us out of Afghanistan, too. They must hate it when they’re accidentally honest like that.
I found this part of the story interesting, “Detective Inspector Lambert, the Metropolitan police officer who helped broker the takeover, says that, because of its social welfare work and its track record supporting the Palestinian cause, the MAB has “big street cred in the area and [has] made an impact on Abu Hamza’s young followers.”
MAB supports terrorists attacking Jews but not Muslims attacking Muslims. Go figure. Also, APL is a dickhead.
Gotta love the “1,000,000 dead Iraqis” lie. Is it just me, or does the number go up an order of magnitude every 18 months? At this rate, by the time I retire, we’ll have killed more Iraqis than there are stars in the universe.
And remember Mr. Crawford, they’re all innocent women and children. And this garbage just gets repeated and amplified.
