lend a hand if you can.
Many of you have already figured out that something is very wrong over at SoCalPundit.com. The fact of the matter is that we really don’t know exactly what happened but it appears that someone exploited a vulnerability in WordPress to “hack” the site. Though all of our content still technically exists, it is going to take a great deal of work in time and money to get the whole mess unraveled.
I have been sulking and pondering over this mess for a few days and have come to the conclusion that I just can’t swing the cost of getting the site back up and running. SoCalPundit has never really had ad revenue and what little it has generated in donations over the years has not even covered the cost of hosting the site.
So if SoCalPundit is to live again, I am going to need your help. That help can come only in the form of $$. I have identified my friend Scott Clark and the folks at Wildcat Technologies Solutions for the eventual work, so though appreciated, I am not entertaining additional offers of technical assistance at this time. What we need is some cold hard cash to afford a server migration and in depth coding by folks that are familiar with the site and the current problems.
You can help put us back online by using our secure and encrypted donation service through PayPal.com. You do not need a PayPal account to donate to SoCalPundit, just the means and willingness to help. Please visit the SoCalPundit homepage to access our PayPal account.ÂÂ
Sincerely,
Kevin D. Korenthal
