In South Carolina, Sen. John McCain visited a plant that makes armored vehicles for Iraq and Afghanistan, dropped by a polling place and then decided to take his wife, Cindy, to the movies to see There Will Be Blood.
Although I must issue a potential (movie) spolier warning, if the cranky veteran from the West defeats the preacher in the Palmetto state, I can give you a preview of McCain’s victory speech.
Palmetto fall over real easy in strong wind cause they have a weak base.
I meant *palmetto thingers*. It’s a metaphor.
Oh, I got your comment-fu, grasshopper.
I remembered that this is where I know “American Research Group” from.
They’re one of the ones reporting a huge Thompson surge.
Jan 15-16 13%
Jan 17-18 21%
Anyone know if they’re reputable?
ARG is fairly reputable, but with 19% late deciders and weather issues in SC, I wouldn’t bank on that surge. Indeed, at 4% margin of error in those polls, the movement may be less than advertised.
But also McCain’s supporters don’t go out when it’s cold cause of the rheumatoid.
I dunno; those vets are a hardy bunch.
Well, yeah. They’re used to living outside.
That was out loud wasn’t it? Oops.
But for happyfeet, here’s a little Fred-love from SC. I also note people turned off by Huck’s push-polling, which undermined his honesty and Christian cred. Of course, I’ve been saying that for a while…
He really is a strange bird, Huckabee. A strange bottom-feeding swamp bird. Like some kind of misshapen auk whose mother tried to peck to death but got away and vowed that one day he’d grow up to be the mother he never knew.
NPR is reporting that the evangelical vote “is not a monolithic vote.” They sound confused.
Huck has never gotten a majority of evangelical votes. NPR’s head ‘splodes.
Update: At CNN, Fineman & Noonan amazed that Huck does not have a majority of the evangelical vote (yet).
That dieback concept from earlier is starting to have some appeal.
