"Cindy Sheehan arrested at Petraeus hearing"

And you thought she’d just quietly fade away.

From the Hill:

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan was arrested Monday in or near the hearing room where Gen. David Petraeus and U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker are testifying on the situation in Iraq, according to the U.S. Capitol Police.

Four anti-war protesters were arrested for disorderly conduct. One of them, who was not named, is being taken to George Washington Hospital “due to complaint of injury” and is also charged with assault on a police officer.

According to the information from the Capitol Police, Sheehan and the other three were shouting in a hallway.

Sheehan was the face of the anti-war movement before saying in May of this year that she would “retire” from the cause.

Guess St Cindy learned that its frigid out there when the people who’ve exploited your tragedy turn on you when your idealism gets in the way of their political aspirations.

Hopefully, her arrest will help bring her in from the cold. Provided she sticks to pimping her absolute moral authority as victim-Mom, and doesn’t make any more waves with her political pretensions.

Because there’s nothing the People Powered Movement hates more than people who don’t follow the mandates of the People Powered Movement’s People Powered Politburo.

Well, except for maybe Bush and Nascar.

    Uh-oh…

Cindy: I don’t think retired means what you think it means.

The fact that someone this consistantly incoherent and unserious gets all this attention makes me crazy.

then again, Brittany and her jowls were on the MTV Video Awards last night so pick your poison.

  3. Wait, they can like NASCAR now, it’s ironic. Like watching jai-alai on public access while pre-gaming on PBR before heading over to some totally beat tourist bar, or better yet, TGI Friday’s.

    – The protester “injured” during the fracuss has been reported to be an anti-war priest. There were additional protests, and further removals.

    – Wexler has run wildly to FOX, (I would suspect other Dems are in all out panic doing the sa,e on other outlets), saying that Patraeus’s numbers are lies.

    – As much as I dislike watching a formerly upright and distinguised American party embarrass itself, there is a certain gratification in watching the steaday meltdown of same before our eyes.

    – Its simply too late for the Dems to detatch from this losing position. They are stuck digging the hole, even if the people they evebtually address speak Chinese.

    – There was a small moment of “hissy fit” response from an unknown Dem Congressman when the Rep Cal Senator mantioned for the second time that the Dems should publicly condemn the moveon.org NYT ad.

    – “No one needs to condemn something they are not associaated with”, came the off camera improptu shout. Apparently the apparachics failed to get the memo, according to the clear wording of the ad. Sooner or later the Dems as a party are going to have to choose. either they want the votes of the far left, or they don’t.

oh good godfrey… how often are all “Rethuglicans” held to account to all bad stuff, real or imagined, done by people “on the right”?

    People Powered Politburo.

Me and my dyslexia. I read that as “People Powered Burrito.”

  7. The_Real_JeffS says:

Too bad Saint Cindy didn’t wear a “I (heart) Osama bin Laden” t-shirt as well. That would really have closed the loop.

  8. Pablo says:

Whoops, there goes another one, just now.

  9. Big Bang (Pumping you up) says:

    – McGehee, everyone knows Lefties eat burritos, and other decedent Western Imperialistic, hedgemonic, non-transfatty Oil for blood consumables, but only under the cover of darkness of course, and only then post People Powered Workers party meetings have concluded, to avoid cutting any large ones and giving away ones predelictions.

Cindy’s career has been going the same direction as Britney’s bosom and waist—down and out.

  11. Jeffersonian says:

And here I thought she was scheduled for a “troca-troca” with Chavez this week. Or was it a bout of plangent wailing outside of Lynne Stewart’s prison?

At any rate, good to see Cindy’s as lunatic as ever. I wish her well against Ms. Pelosi.

That’s the same charge Larry Craig got. I wonder what the connection is?

  13. Rich says:

Oops, the joke fell flat. I hadn’t read the next post before I commented…

Come on Guys. Cindy needs our support. How else is she going to tak Pelosi’s seat?

No point in having it if you are not going to use it…. hopefully that was the reason for the screechings heard off camera.
    But I doubt it.

When a woman looks like Droopy Dog how can you take her seriously?

  18. Toby Petzold says:

I know the notion’s quaint, but I find no moral authority in those who have no sense of personal dignity. Mother Sheehan and her fellow psychotics are an embarrassment to the state of political life in America.

  19. SteveG says:

    Personal dignity?
From women dressed up in Miss Piggy outfits?
My first thought was that DC needs to bring in some Wyoming BLM grazing permit enforcement agents. Those guys know how to wrangle, no more rodeo clown enforcement

  20. Daniel says:

How is this woman still out and about? Doesn’t California (her home state, I think… could be wrong) have a 3-strikes policy? Or does that only apply to crimes committed in-state?

  21. RWA says:

What’s the difference between Cindy Sheehan and Terry Schiavo?

One is a brain-dead vegetable whose personal tragedy was exploited by zealots for political gain, and the other was in a coma.

  22. In major league sporting events, people who run onto the field no longer have their incursions or antics shown by the media. The theory is that robbing these sociopaths of the publicity and self promotion they seek will help reduce, if not eliminate, their errant, antisocial behavior.

Meanwhile at the top of the hour, NPR makes a point of letting us know that Cindy Sheehan cannot respect the idea of our duly elected leaders conducting hearings with testimony by duly appointed military and diplomatic administrators, but instead must interrupt and make a spectacle of herself to, well, I don’t know really. It’s not like everyone who is paying attention doesn’t already know what she thinks or that she can’t get her message out.

    Ack.

    charles:

The media is in love with the “dissent is the highest form of patriotism” bullcrap. (Not said by Jefferson, BTW.) The only thing they love more than moronic, pathetic retro hippies dressed like white trash clowns and “behaving badly” is a good multi car pileup with several fatalities. They think it buttresses their free speech bona fides by showcasing the stupid and incoherent speech as an equally important part of the story rather than what it should be; stupid and incoherent.

Now if a Hollywood celebrity shows up to protest then the copy klatch starts to quiver like a puppy. This will result in a “breaking news moment” complete with the traffic helacopter (local) and a rousing of Dan Shorr from his afternoon nap to pile on the stupid and incoherent with the sadly senile.

But, hey! Diane Sawyer on GMA said something to the effect that “some people are beginning to equate Osama bin Ladin with Elvis.” smile, wink Certainly today, 9/11/2007, was a stellar day to make that joke.

    MSM sucks!

  24. Charles Reilly says:

Mr. RWA’s comment about the difference between Cindy Sheehan and
Terry Schiavo was very funny and (unfortunately) accurate. Ms. Sheehan should take a deep breath, take a long look in the mirror and then disappear from the public’s view. What a sad, depressing and desperate woman she’s turned into. Sheehan has no one to blame but herself for the misery she wallows in on a daily basis.
