Speaking Truth to Power

Sometimes the best defense is a good offense.

Or: HOW DARE YOU QUESTION MY RECEPTIONIST’S PATRIOTISM!

23 Replies to “Speaking Truth to Power”

  1. Patience, people; patience! How can the poor man cough up some potted response about Marines being cleared, before he even has time to run a push-poll? Give the system time to work!

  2. N. O'Brain says:

    John Murtha is an ex--Marine.

  3. B Moe says:

If you got the time, there is another link at Hot Air of John Campbell wearing Murtha out on the House floor about earmarks. Murtha is just flat-ass lying to him.

  4. BJTexs says:

Now, Jeff and Brian, you know it’s not about guilt or innocence. It’s about what this war has done to these poor young soldiers, how they have broken under the terrible strain of Bushhitler’s campaign to enrich Halliburton and all of the bleeding, bleeding for oil! Even the innocent have broken from the strain, the terrible strain and, really, none are inncocent in war, n’est pas? Jack Murtha cares so much about these strained soldiers that he proclaims their brokeness, supporting them by proclaiming their murderous strain to the entire world or, at least, to several choosen MSM outlets. Any press that he may receive is a small alm for proclaiming straining and brokeness.

With a heart so noble due process and administrative reviews are so unecessary.

Oh, look! My head has twisted all the way around to the back! 180 degrees! Kewl!!

I write this way to forget the seething rage I feel for this pig slapping idiot.

tw: political Mary’s I would have said Alice but OK by me!

  5. Mark says:

Here’s to seeing the Haditha defendants sue the shit out of Meathead Murtha.

  6. DarthRove says:

Murtha’s official position on this will be a redeployment of his office to Okinawa.

TW: Prussian successes: the Battle of Mollwitz, the Battle of Dybbol, and the Battle of Koniggratz.

  7. Merovign says:

There are, in fact, words for a man like Murtha. Just not the kind of words we like to use in polite conversation.

Or in bars frequented by sailors.

  8. Jim in KC says:

Think maybe Murtha’s pulled back to Korea?

  9. Jim in KC says:

Sorry, make that Okinawa… Got my “places that end in a” mixed up. I’m prone to that, unfortunately.

  10. Cythen says:

Tell your receptionist to stop wearing red all the damn time, and to lose the star and moon earrings, and we’ll talk.

    /nasties only , indeed

  11. psychologizer says:

Or: Fearless public servant thwarts chickenhawk phone rape.

  12. N. O'Brain says:

    Random thought:

The unbearable lightness of being John Edwards.

  13. TallDave says:

lmao @ HOW DARE YOU QUESTION MY RECEPTIONIST’S PATRIOTISM!

Not to worry, I’m sure the media will demand he explain why he publicly slandered 4 innocent Marines as coldblooded murderers to the nation. “Wasn’t that unpatriotic, Senator?” Tim Russert will demand on Meet The Press. The NYT editorial board will question whether he’s fit for office, let alone a leadership position in the House.

Because that’s how the MSM rolls: fair, balanced, and always supportive of the troops.

  14. Warren Bonesteel says:

    It’s all about money.

    Or

    TW: Servitus, logically.

  15. Jeffersonian says:

I hear Murtha’s mom made a blog post wistfully wishing she’d flushed Embryo John down the sink at the Johnstown Ho-Jo’s when she had the chance.

  16. TheGeezer says:

Murtha should use the line Newsweek’s Evan Thomas used about Newsweek’s reporting on the Duke non-rape case — “The narrative was right but the facts were wrong” (John Leo). In the minds of a liberal political opportunist and the usual antiwar BDS groupies, “We all know marines are killers, it’s just that killing didn’t occur in this instance.”

  17. George S. "Butch" Patton (Mrs.) says:

If you want ex-military who’re deliberately trying to be funny…

  18. injustice prevails says:

    THE SOUND OF SILENCE
    ALWAYS SOUNDS THE SAME

In the final analysis, it is their war.
They are the ones who have to win it or lose it.

We can help them, we can give them equipment,
we can send our men out there as advisers,
but they have to win it.

I do not agree with those who say we should withdraw.
That would be a great mistake.

  19. fretless says:

    so, um … yeah …

It seems she confused Hot Air with “The Press”. Or is she perhaps aware that websites like Hot Air carry more weight than “The Press”?

    hmmm?
