My invitation must have gotten lost in the mail

I’m late to this, but here’s Rick Moran’s coverage of Yearly Kos, sponsored by Pajamas Media.

Guess they didn’t feel like putting aside money for my inevitable bail hearing.

Besides, I don’t do “even-handed” quite so well.

    And then, depression set in.

What can I say, hoss. If you’d pissed on the Beachamp story you could have gotten the reputation as even handed as well. Would it have been worth it?

    “Rick Moran:
The number one thing I learned was that liberals are people too. This may not seem an earth shattering observation. After all, we’ve suspected for years that lefties shared many of our genes and that they may, at some point in their evolution, have even used stone tools and decorated their bodies with various kinds of artwork.”

Yes, there were indeed liberal cavemen. They were the ones that busily made the cave drawings which translated said: “Share the Secret of Fire”, rather than going off and figuring out how to make it themselves.

  4. Tman says:

Wear your dismissal as a badge of honor Jeff.

YOU WILL NOT BE COWED BY THE LITTLEST OF MEN!!

On a related note, the WSJ has an editorial today by Kim Strassel about the snubbing of the DLC in favor of YearlyKos by the dem candidates recently. Ford and From, the leaders of the DLC are warning that if the dems don’t tact back to the center soon that it will be a repeat of Goldwater/Dukakis/Mondale.

    One could only hope.

  5. Sean M. says:

I never knew Barry Goldwater was a Democrat, let alone that he had run with Dukakis or Mondale. You learn something new every day!

(Yes, I am a sarcastic asshole.)

I think you have the story wrong. The drawings actually varied depending on the cave you were in. Some said “Stop fire and stop global warming?” Scientist speculate that many of those liberals were lost during the corresponding ice age. The other caves said “stop our dependence on fire. Conserve fire!”
oddly enough, those people were also lost during the same ice age. Odd. An eternal mystery.

  7. It’s okay Jeff. My wife is graduating with her bachelors degree, and I’ll send you an invite. You can heckle her from the audience, pointing out that a Fine Arts Degree in Photography degree won’t allow me to retire and pursue my life long dream of being a Rockstar.

  8. Dis I say degree in degree….Good Lord.

  9. Drumwaster says:

You need to join the Army.

    “Are either of you homosexual?”
“No, but we’re willing to learn!”

  10. Jeff G. says:

    You mean, like, flaming…?

  11. Karl says:

    Never convicted…

I’ve found that reflection upon the epistemological foundation of Marx’s commentary regarding clubs to be useful in similiar situations.

Wear it as a badge of honor, Jeff. You’re single-handedly making more of a difference in putting truth back into public discourse than almost anyone I know. You time will come.

When Maxime du Camp encouraged his buddy, Flaubert, to publish his novels quickly because he was hiding his talent under a bushel, Flaubert said something like–I paraphrase– ‘Fame can no more be an indicator of a writer’s worth than can obscurity. Excellence is eternal.’ Or somethin’ like that. (See Steegmuller’s Vol. I of Flaubert’s letters.)

  14. please, like there was anything preventing you from “covering” it.

incidentally, I watched video of a forum on “do blogs matter” or somesuch from last year’s dKos on CSpan 3 a few nights ago. interesting stuff. “Armando” was not present because of his recent outing by right-wing loonies. Anyhoo, I was kinda amazed at how many elderly people were there asking questions/kissing Markos’ backside.

Good job, Koko. Number one! Now it’s safe to give you a cat.

  16. Jeff G. says:

    Maggie —

I get tired of covering events from a great distance, and without being compensated.

That, and I didn’t even know it was going on.

    I blame Bush.

  17. ahem says:

Liberals are so not people too. They barely stand erect.

  18. heh, ahem, that reminds me, also their closets smell like B.O. or so claimed the dude sitting at the table next to us at the “sushi trough” a couple weeks ago. He’d spent some time ranting about Fox News, declared Olbermann brave for speaking out on MSNBC (owned by GE, which is a huge military contractor donchyaknow?) said Bush was “exactly like Hitler” and for a while talked about how his closet smelled and how do you fix that? (febreeze) anyway he wrapped up with “the only really viable candidates are Gravel and Kucinich” aaaaah South Florida!
