Jesus’ General on right.

Ilyka puts up with crap at Scott Eric Kaufman’s place, where tattling leftists dispute his bona fides. (h/t anonymous) Strange bedfellows.

Sorry I’m bad at linking.  Could you remove the “http:///cgi-bin/anon-www.cgi/” from those addresses so they work?

  2. JD says:

Thanks a fucking lot for those links.  I just spent over an hour scrolling through all of those comment threads, and I am appreciably dummer for having dun so.  Damn, those moonbats are still frothing over someone posting a link.  Wouldn’t this whole scenario, ie. the intent of an author, be a case study in intentionalism ?

  3. Dan, just wanted to thank you for the support.  Granted, I think it’ll make them hate me more … but I appreciate it nonetheless.

JD, yes, intentionality is still the operative principle here.  I could go into it, but I’m off to explain to my superiors about the unintended consequences of writing under your own name.  (You know, like letters about you being a Jewish white supremacist.  I mean, I’m self-loathing, but I’m not that self-loathing.)

  4. JD says:

SEK – You were putting up a good fight over there.  You are experiencing what it is like to argue with the proverbial moonbat – where emotion and feeling trump logic and facts.

Dan – You owe me at least 1.5 hours of my life back.

  5. JD says:

SEK – It seems you also experienced one of the classic leftist positions.  If race is the topic, if you do not agree with them, you are a racist, no matter how absurd their position is.

Granted, I think it’ll make them hate me more…

lol.  Well remember that we still like you, Scott.

May not agree with you, but we like you.

  7. Pablo says:

Keep an eye on that Ilkya. Sure, you’re right now. But when it’s her ox that’s been gored, you’ll be right back to patriarchal rat bastard.

  8. Beth says:

    Good God.

The whole fratricidal clusterfuck was hilarious (except for the fact that the NiT blogger felt forced to quit), until this ridiculous shit.  This shit with calling/writing people’s employers because of a stupid difference of opinion is what I hate the most about the stupid blogosphere.  And this–calling SEK a “white supremacist” is possibly the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen on teh intarweb.

Scott:  Hope you don’t take any additional heat from unhinged losers for having support from unenlightened wingnuts like us.  wink

This went way beyond the political to the personal a long time ago, anyway.

The silver lining:  People like “Ghost of Adolph Rupp” (irony! intentionalism! context!) are such assholes that they’re probably miserable in real life and will end up getting what’s coming to ‘em eventually.  Karma’s a bitch, etc.

  9. ahem says:

    Scott: Good luck.

  10. Beth says:

Also, Scott–I think you’ve got some new material for the next course you teach on the importance of context.

  11. Andrew says:

I always figured Jesus’ General would be thinner. You know, all that hiking in an arid climate…
