“Michigan Congressman’s Office Vandalized”

Goodness!  And after all that work Glenn Greenwald(s), Andrew Sullivan, and their perpetually-outraged band of sycophants have put in trying to convince anyone who will listen that neocons and Bushies are the real threats to the soul of America. Of course, Greenwald(s) and co. have of late been advocating that the morally depraved fascist deathmerchants who continue to support the Commander in Chief need be marginalized, dehumanized, and refused entry into the brave new world of “civilized” discourse—defined, conveniently enough, as discourse free from the poisonous ideas of rightwingers not named Pat Buchanan—so I suppose it’s possible that the vandals here were simply acting like good little “progressive” footsoldiers and doing their part to bring about a victory for “civil libertarians” of Greenwald’s(’s) stripe.  Which, from what I gather, are a coalition of faux-moralists agitating for an Israeli surrender, and for the US to commit suicide either by slow bleed or infection, precisely the result one expects when a country repeatedly shoots itself in the foot instead of allowing the Commander in Chief to prosecute the war in a way that treats the enemy like an enemy (rather than, say, someone who farts in an elevator).  From the AP:

Vandals upset over the Iraq war defaced U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers’ office overnight, a spokesman said Tuesday.

The unknown individuals splattered red paint on the Lansing building and put up a sign saying the Republican has “blood” on his hands. They also spray painted the sidewalk with the words “no more deaths,” glued shut the front door of the building and destroyed security cameras, said Andy Keiser, Rogers’ chief of staff.

Sheriff’s deputies were providing extra security at the Brighton home where Rogers lives with his wife and two children, Keiser said.

“The aggressive destruction of federal property and vandalism was a callous attempt to intimidate Congressman Rogers and his staff,” he said in a statement. “We all are entitled to our own opinion on the situation in Iraq, but we are not entitled to destruction of taxpayer property and intimidation of federal officials.”

The FBI, U.S. Capitol police and Lansing police were investigating.

Rogers has supported President Bush’s decision to pursue the war in Iraq four years ago but has opposed Bush’s recent plan to send extra troops to Baghdad.

Poor misguided amateurs.  Didn’t even realize people like Rogers are supposed to be second up against the wall.

Oh well, they’ll learn.  Besides:  practice makes perfect!

Looking at the pictures of all the protesters this past week, it seems that the majority, as it ha always been, are college age kids.

Just what the hell are they teaching these kids these days? You also have a good mix of 60’s era hippies still trying to relive the their youth. Pathetic, just plain pathetic. Dissention is patriotic, right?  I guess anarchy is as well…..

  2. gahrie says:

I think I’ve finally figured out why the Lefties support illegal immigration.

What type of job has been affected the most by illegal immigration? Construction work.

Who used to be known for beating the snot out of whiney, immature protesters? Construction workers.

Replace strong patriotic American construction workers with fearfully illegal alien Mexican construction workers, and problem solved.

Well, really – don’t we understand that they are fed up?

  4. Farmer Joe says:

You know, they wouldn’t have to do stuff like this if we didn’t keep crushing their dissent.

  5. Just Passing Through says:

Certainly a powerful and evocative way to provide evidence of the dehumanization of Mike Rogers. Or someone anyway.

  6. eLarson says:

Were they wearing their brown shirts when they did it?

  7. Rob B. says:

So , why aren’t they breaking into the offices of liberal democrats who voted for the Iraq war and repeating the treatment? After all, they are the ones who sold the peace movement down the river in order to surf the tide of warmongering populism?

Silly lefties, fix your own party first.

  8. Pablo says:

You are part of the political pathology whose effectiveness I seek to neutralize; dialogue isn’t on my agenda.

I wonder if Mona has an alibi.

  9. J. Peden says:

    Rob B.:

So , why aren’t they breaking into the offices of liberal democrats who voted for the Iraq war [and don’t defund it] and repeating the treatment?

Exactly. But then who would “save” them or be their Mommy?

  10. slackjawedyokel says:

to prosecute the war in a way that treats the enemy like an enemy (rather than, say, someone who farts in an elevator).

. . . and they would have us apologize to the farter.

  11. McGehee says:

(rather than, say, someone who farts in an elevator).

In other words, their response to 9/11 is, “He who smelt it dealt it.”

That does pretty much sum it up, doesn’t it?

  12. well, and how do we know this wasn’t some kind of false flag operation that rethugs will later use as an excuse to round up liberals and put them in camps?

  13. Just Passing Through says:

False flag rethug operators would have worn Bushitler masks and Che t-shirts and not destroyed the security cameras,

  14. Bender Bending Rodriguez says:

    From Major John’s link:

They camped out in his office for nearly eight hours, reading verse and reciting the names and biographies of soldiers killed in Iraq, punctuating each by banging on a gong they had brought with them.

I think they meant “ganging on a bong.” Makes a lot more sense.

  15. Phil Smith says:

I was thinking the same thing, maggie.  This makes, what, the 658th Reichstag fire since 9-11 (according to the Truthers and other assorted imbeciles)?

  16. Just Passing Through says:

I think this statement on Major John’s link with minor modifications is also apt to a prevailing situation here.

““Obviously, when you have someone on your site gonging a gong and spouting jihadist propaganda it’s somewhat distracting, but it does not disrupt the wordflow,” said JPT, unauthorized PW spokesman.”

  17. B Moe says:

    Peace activists armed with poetry…

Why don’t the go read for the jihadists?  Who knows, it might mellow their harsh, you know?

    CHICKENSONGBIRDS!

  18. happyfeet says:

It’ll be fine as long as everybody stays calm and doesn’t do anything to glamorize this type of thing or something crazy like that.

  19. Dan Collins says:

I think they meant “ganging on a bong.” Makes a lot more sense.

    Mark Bolen’s ghost disagrees.

  20. Matt, Esq. says:

I asked a liberal the other day the following question :

If you knew that if an American city was destroyed (doesn’t matter which – you pick) it would result in a guarantee’d impeachment of George Bush, would you be in favor of such an attach ?

  21. Rob Crawford says:

I asked a liberal the other day the following question :

    Did you get an answer?

  22. Major John says:

I think they meant “ganging on a bong.” Makes a lot more sense.

To quote an unnamed, yet well know, internet figure…Heh. Indeed.

  23. JorgXMcKie says:

The young ‘Anarchists’ (they’re *not* Anarchists, they’ve just attempted to appropriate the term—they’re Fascists) appear to be pretty much the same dickheads I found when I exited the Air Force in 1996 and went to college.  Nasty little jerks with an inflated sense of self-importance, backed by . . . well by not much of anything.

  24. JorgXMcKie says:

Whooops!! “When I exited the Air Force in 1966.”

  25. Good Lt says:

    Umm..moonbats? The dry cleaners called.

Your brown shirts are ready for pickup.

  26. Cybrludite says:

Of course these are the same folks who did drivebys on and invasions of Republican campaign offices during ‘04. And they call us the facists without a hint of irony…

  27. Given a choice between the deaths of a few million humans or a few thousand eagles the moonbats chose poorly….oops wrong thread. Sorry.

  28. Collin says:

Isn’t it instructive that these protestors go after the people that are already against the war, just not against it enough?

It seems like there is another group of fascists running around the world that show a similar proclivity to attacking weakness.
