Seminole Moments in Higher Education

Speaking of university presidents in need of a good, thorough sterilization, here (via Reason) is Florida State University president T.K. Wetherell in an email letter protesting a proposed bill that would limit the power of universities’ boards of trustees:

“Congradulations you have just reinstituted the old Board of Regents […] Where are the strong rolls of the University Boards of Trustees??? Under this arrangement their main roll would be to be sure that the meeting lunch menu is well planned.”

…Uh huh. Well, no biggie so long as you can spell “NCAA,” right T.K…?

I weep for the childrenses.

  1. “Strong rolls”, a quip (or whatever that was supposed to be) about cafeteria lunch menus… note to self—never email when hungry. Or when a president of FSU.

    Go Criminoles!

Well, when I went there, many long years ago, the cafeteria rolls were pretty strong. If you dropped them off the table, they’d dent the floor.

Btw, I seem to be slow in noticing things this month. Welcome back!

Hiya, Kathy!  Thanks.  Word is you’re the ‘puter guru round these circles.  That must keep you busy, huh?
