Pay No Attention to the Hand Inside the Puppet!!! [Ellers McEllerson]

Greetings from Brazil! It appears that in my bizarre attempt to claim that Little Green Footballs supports Al Qaeda (by misrepresenting the views of LGF commenters, compounded with guilt by association that I do not apply to “progressive” sites like the HuffPo), I was Punk’d by Charles Johnson!

This will not stand. I wrote a New York Times best-seller on the Bush Administration and its abuses of power. I have one of the most-read blogs on the Internet (though I seem to be lingering at Saloon lately). Senators read from my blog at Senate hearings.  My posts lead to front-page news stories in major newspapers.

I will not be ridiculed in this way.  If Charles Johnson would only open his site registration, I would tell him…

Good DAY, sir!

I would have you know that the things you attributed to “Ellers McEllerson” were actually achieved by Glenn Greenwald, who rose to such prominence after only nine months of blogging.

Furthermore, Mr. Greenwald lives in a residence where several cabana boys who don’t take kindly to Rethugs criticizing him have access to his personal computer, where they scour search engines at all hours of the day (that is, when Mr. Greenwald is nowhere near said computer, and he’s above using pseudonyms to defend himself, anyway) for such scurrilous commentary.

Your insinuation that Glenn Greenwald–Constitutional scholar, bestselling author, true conservative, and all-around Super Patriot–would stoop to a tactic such as so-called “sockpuppetry” is simply ludicrous.

    GOOD DAY TO YOU, SIR!

    The horror.  The horror.

Will Greenwald admit to being pwnd by rabid warmongering site such as LGF?  Don’t hold your breath!

A very nice bit by Charles and very embarrassing for Greenwald.  Many of his commenters still claim not to know what the sock puppetry story is all about. Unfortunately, since most of his readers have learned not to click on his links because they contradict his posts, how many learned of the deception is uncertain.  Nevertheless, nice work.

I do hope that isn’t you using the soubriquet “Sharmuta”. Most unpleasant.

  4. Sean M. made a lot of very good points in his comment.  Kudos, Sean M.

  5. I agree completely with Sean M. and Sean Mellensberg.  This Glenn Greenwald fellow, who I’ve never met, must be pretty smart, seeing as how he’s a bestselling author and his blog posts have been read on the Senate floor.

I might also add that, in spite of the fact that my name sounds suspiciously similar to the names “Sean M.” and “Sean Mellensberg,” there is no connection between the three of us.

Except for our IP address.  And, really, what does that even prove?  I mean, any number of cabana boys could’ve waltzed in here and typed defenses of Glenn Greenwald, right?

Lame snark and attacking the messenger dont change the facts. The prevalence of vile commentary is endemic on sites like LGF. If vileness on the left is going to be ferreted out and trumpeted widely (s’cuse me, I’m in a metaphorical mood tonite), including in the MSM, then fair is fair.

For whatever his faults, GG does far more solid work than I read in the peanut gallery here, so why not just figure out how to raise your own games?

    You are delusional.

    Good Day, Sir!

Mind providing some links to some of that “solid work,” Tano?

And explain to all of us again the justice in tarring Johnson based on the comments to one of his posts.

    Please.

Witness Tano’s brilliant takedown of Jeff “The Liar” Goldstein above.  It rival’s Mona’s destruction of the Bush Administration, and Gleen’s own defenestration of the entire conservative movement, center-rightists, and a guy who read Burke once in college.  When Glenn is done with the so-called conservatives who have hijacked his conservatism, there won’t be anything left of them.

    Good Day!

(Ps.  You just haven’t experienced retrogressive, stupid hate email, until you’ve received an inbox full of it from Gleeeen’s choagy boys.  Mmmmm… nothing is as filling or as satisfying as hatred so thick, it takes a chainsaw to slice…)

  10. Mind providing some links to some of that “solid work,” Tano?

Please don’t. I’m not into scat.

But lying is not fair, and it’s GiGi’s stock in trade.

    sigh… reading is fundamental!

this is seen whenever you reply to or read an LGF post

Comments are open and unmoderated, and do not necessarily reflect the views of Little Green Footballs. Obscene, abusive, silly, or annoying remarks may be deleted, but the fact that particular comments remain on the site in no way constitutes an endorsement of their views by Little Green Footballs.

When you get the kind of traffic that Charles gets you will get some objectionable comments, but after reading him and commenting for over 5 years, I find Mr. Johnson to be a fair modest and civil man.

  15. Glenn Greenpwnd says:

I am incapable of being embarrassed.

    Good day, sir!

  16. Blue Hen says:

Gee, I don’t care what Tano thinks of some of the comments on LGF. Charles Johnson wasn’t hired by a presidential candidate, isn’t being quoted on the Floor of the United States Senate (pause for genuflection), and isn’t proclaiming himself to be a Thought Leader.

He has a blog. it has a comments section. He does monitor it. So far as I know, he doesn’t delete or change posts because people disagree with him. And he doesn’t advocate people being attacked or thrown into jail without cause based upon racial or gender hatred.

He and some of his readers have helped expose Rathergate, Reuters and AP for pushing forged materials.

  17. Eric Anondson says:

Only in the comments section. Why would you want to go there? If it bothers you, just don’t. Is it not possible for you to separate LGF’s tame blog posts from the wild comments? Is that a standard you wish we apply to porgessive sites? Careful now.

Tano has forgotten that GG is also the Master Of Hypocrisy
