On Resolutions [Dan Collins]

My invitation to a spiritual inventory as preparation for the holidays was such a success that I am emboldened now to bid you look to the future.  What are your resolutions for the New Year, for yourself?  What are your mild suggestions, your constructive criticisms for others with whom you may, percase, disagree?

I resolve to be happier, even if it kills me.

  2. Ric Locke says:

I resolve not to make, or attempt to keep, any New Years’ resolutions.

Same as last year. Despite the circularity, it provides the little bit of success I need to keep a positive attitude.

    Regards,

    Ric

I made the same resolution several years ago, and I’m quite happy to say I’ve stuck with it. Anyone who’s tried to go to a gym in the first week of January knows what a nightmare these short term epiphanies are.

  4. gahrie says:

I resolve to gain 30 lbs, drink twice as much, do less work around the house, and to piss off my collegues at work twice as much.

  5. lunarpuff says:

Usually, on Jan 3rd I resolve to just try again next year.

  6. Ardsgaine says:

I’m gonna eat better and exercise more.

    Honest.

    Well, dammit I’m gonna try.

  7. lee says:

I resolve to quit smoking, and lose 20 lbs.

Same as last year, except last year I only needed to lose 15 lbs.

  8. McGehee says:

Given my resolution, it’s entirely possible I will have to start smoking in 2007.

  9. Some Bitch says:

I resolve to break Wicked Pinto and break him good.

Weight Watchers meetings are PACKED during January. During November and December, they tend to be deserted.
