Commenter Profile: monkyboy [Dan Collins]

Yesterday I posted a rodeo round-up of stuff pertaining to the election that’s a referendum on the Iraq War, but seems to have a lot to do with the sexuality of conservatives.  The point of contact, as I saw it, was a consideration of cultural attitudes toward homosexuality in the West as compared with in Islam, and the dissonance that this naturally produces for anti-American and anti-war leftists, among whom there appears to be considerable overlap.  The thread, which was supposed to be humorous in nature as befits a Saturday night, was promptly hijacked by monkyboy who demonstrated in short order why it is that he’s banned from Captain’s Quarters and perhaps other conservative sites.

The immediate provocation on my part, I suppose, was to have mentioned that there was a Gay Pride Parade scheduled for Friday in Jerusalem that had been the subject of a hitjob piece by Time, and to have further expressed the opinion that a) if the left felt that parading children in suicide vests in Gaza was okay, then I had nothing against such a parade in Jerusalem, b) the fact that Israel is the only state in the Middle East where such a thing was even contemplable explained why Time was such an ardent supporter of Israel, and c) that I hoped that gays in Damascus, Riyadh and Tehran would be able to partake in similar events.

monkyboy’s response:

This parade in Gaza yesterday didn’t go over so big with the Israelis:

A 12-year-old girl was killed Saturday evening by Israel Defense Forces sniper fire in the town of Beit Hanun in the northern Gaza Strip.

The girl, Isra Nasser, died of wounds to the head. The IDF said the sniper’s target had been an armed militant, and expressed regret at the mistake.

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/783577.html

BBh says:

– monkeyburp…. did you see the vids of the whole thing and here what the “militants” were up too? I’ll fill you in.

– They had gathered a large crowd of women and children and were hiding Palestinain snipers mixed in with the group, taking pot shots at the Israeli troops. Later the women loaned their Burka’s to the snipers so they could escape in drag.

– I’m sure if you were there you would have been happy to just sit and be picked off, instead of fire back. Right. 5 will get you 10 the girl was being held up as a shield. That too was widely reported, using the women as shields as they sniped at Israeli positions.

Two questions monkeyshit.

1) could the Jihadists possibly get anymore chickenshit than hiding behind their women and kids?

B) Do you ever get tired of sucking Islamic dick?

monkyboy, as doltishly as ever, rejoins:

Why are there Israeli troops in Gaza, BBh?

I thought Israel “pulled out” of there…

Are you saying the Israeli sniper who killed that poor girl was being “brave?”

BBh:

Why are there Israeli troops in Gaza, BBh?

I thought Israel “pulled out” of there…

– Maybe they were objecting to the 300+ rockets that the peace loving Palestinians have launched from that position into Israel since the “cease fire”. You think?

– The 2nd question is simply assholy.

– Do you think the Jihadist thugs (snipers) are brave for using women and children as shields?

– Take your time….

And then the one that really set me off:

Now there’s an uncontroversial topic…

I think what’s worked for Israel in the past won’t work in the future.

Time for a new plan.

I can’t believe those clowns who lost to Hezbollah are still in charge…

What follows, I’m afraid, reflects rather poorly on me, which is why it’s below the fold:

monky–

I’m sorry, but you really are being too much of an ass, even for me.  Do you suppose the snipers hiding behind the women and children attempting to kill Israeli soldiers were being brave?  Please, don’t be such an ass.

And dicksuck, answer me this: why the fuck should the Israelis give a flying copulation what those people are about when they’ve ceded territory, but the assholes won’t discard their eliminationist rhetoric?  Fuck off.

New plan: mirror the Hezby line and call for wiping Palestinians off of the face of the earth.  That suit you, buttboy?

Yeah, why not nuke ‘em all, before they get the bomb?  Why not?  They’re inferior beings–bloodsucking scum.

See what’s at the end of your fork, forkhead?  Yeah, eat it anyway.

Then after BBh makes a cogent remark about Olmert:

Nuke the Hajj, monky.  Why not?  It’s what they would do.

What monkyboy, and later, cynn, are advocating is the Caliphate.  She even goes as far as to say she’s betting on the evil bastards.  Later in that and other threads, monky makes clear that he thinks it would be better for Afghanistan that the Taleban were in charge instead of Karzai.  The US is responsible for virtually all of the world’s ills, in one way or another.  He advocates for totalitarianism, even as he blames it on his country.  A certain Bill Arnold shows up to add his idiocy to the mix later on.  They all mock us for the West’s forebearance, even as they would scream if we were to use our might as indiscriminately as radical Islam would, if they had it.

Here’s classic liberal Orson Scott Card on the upcoming elections:

The Only Issue This Election Day

There is only one issue in this election that will matter five or ten years from now, and that’s the War on Terror.

And the success of the War on Terror now teeters on the fulcrum of this election.

If control of the House passes into Democratic hands, there are enough withdraw-on-a-timetable Democrats in positions of prominence that it will not only seem to be a victory for our enemies, it will be one.

Unfortunately, the opposite is not the case—if the Republican Party remains in control of both houses of Congress there is no guarantee that the outcome of the present war will be favorable for us or anyone else.

But at least there will be a chance.

I say this as a Democrat, for whom the Republican domination of government threatens many values that I hold to be important to America’s role as a light among nations.

But there are no values that matter to me that will not be gravely endangered if we lose this war. And since the Democratic Party seems hellbent on losing it—and in the most damaging possible way—I have no choice but to advocate that my party be kept from getting its hands on the reins of national power, until it proves itself once again to be capable of recognizing our core national interests instead of its own temporary partisan advantages.

To [sic] all intents and purposes, when the Democratic Party jettisoned Joseph Lieberman over the issue of his support of this war, they kicked me out as well. The party of Harry Truman and Daniel Patrick Moynihan—the party I joined back in the 1970s—is dead. Of suicide.

I have a challenge for monkyboy: write us a Monkifesto, letting us know what it is that you advocate, monkyboy.  I’ll post it.  But given your other responses to such challenges, I doubt you will.

Anyway, you seething pile of festering cryptofascist shit, thanks for reminding us once again why it’s so important to go to the polls, as another commenter pointed out a couple of days ago.  Oh, and in case I forgot to mention it, fuck off.

Which is why I ignore what the monkybot says, Dan.  It isn’t worth dignifying with a response.  Silent contempt is all that the m-bot is due.

No more, couldn’t get any less.

You do realize that you won’t get a ‘monkifesto’ let alone a worthwhile discussion, correct?  It is impossible because, as you noted, the m-bot starts off from a different premise than you have, and that abyss cannot be bridged.  To the m-bot the United States is the font of all that is wrong in the world and should be diminished in power to protect the world from the United States.  Your premise, I believe, is that the United States remains the best last hope for mankind.

    Can not be bridged.

So the gloves are off, eh Dan? Kill Pussycat! Faster! Faster!

Card’s article is superb. I’d almost rather see it above the break myself.

  3. Ric Locke says:

I don’t want monkyboy to fuck off. I want him to continue at full force. I can’t think of a better GOTV motivation for Republicans. We just need to keep reminding people that this is what Democrats stand for.

The result if they take power won’t be immediate meltdown, and when there aren’t bombs in the streets of New York on Nov. 8th they’ll crow that they were right all along and everything is fine. But long term it has to be pernicious.

What they’re advocating—demanding, in fact—is a return to status quo ante. monkyboy even enunciates it directly: “support the strongest Government.” The fact that that’s a direct contravenntion of every stated ideal of the Left is saddening but irrelevant. What’s relevant is that it is specifically the policies they advocate that got us where we are.

Note the whipsaw. monky specifically castigates America for supporting the Taliban against the USSR—then specifically declares that they would be the best government for Afghanistan. Reminds me of the “America armed Saddam” argument. Well, we did, sort of. Somehow they must have missed the fact that George Bush agrees that that was the result of a failed policy, and something new was needed.

But the status quo ante isn’t there to return to; even if it had been, in reality, the effective and peace-yielding system they seem to believe it was, it isn’t now and will never be again. Advocating it isn’t progressive. It isn’t even conservative or reactionary. It’s downright retrogressive.

Ah, well, just is the Wheel, swerving not a hair. Next round they’ll have succeeded in completely wiping out all the liberal and Leftist ideals they espouse as theory and routinely destroy in practice, and America really will be an Imperialist power. I hope the folks researching anti-agathics succeed. I’d sort of like to see the real Pax McDonaldica.

    Regards,

    Ric

Dan, why even bother? In the first case, he’s dishonest. Don’t forget his claim that he was a lifelong Republican before the Iraq War changed his mind, yet none of his arguments are based on conservative principles. He is a liar, who will say anything, regardless of how false, to try to score debating points.

Not only that, he doesn’t even attempt to put together a rational argument in his posts. He may have some sort of semi-coherent position in his head, but he’s either unwilling or unable to put it into a coherent post. His M.O. is the oneliner, the smart alecky remark that from his point of view looks devastatingly witty, but from any other point of view looks like a non sequitur. He is, as everyone has already noted, a shit flinger. He just throws a bunch of shit at people to see what will stick. The best thing to do is just ignore him. The more you rattle his cage, the more shit he’s gonna throw.

“The voice that portends to the future”

    – Here’s a few “truthiness’s” that it’s usefull to remind yourselves of, every time some soft-Marxist gadfly like mb cracks stupid in a comment, and has you wanting to commit violence on his grubby body….

Numbers: The hard left “National Socialists”, you know the ones, their real leader’s, Marx, Stalin, and Hitler, have been dead for decades, comprise less than 5% of the population. They make up for the lack of numbers, by loud screeching, and obnoxious public displays, which the legacy Media flocks too dutifly, upholding the “sell-a-paper” meme of “if it bleeds, it leads”. They are as a few black ants among the hundreds of millions of red ants. Their main activities, day to day, is comprised of the “Big Lie”, demonizing the existing administration, and the President, whoever that might be, and generally spreading as much class/race warfare, and chaos as possible. If the biggest part of american democrats really understood what this malicious group of amerca haters is really up to, they would be appalled.

Democratic Leadership: The mentally lazy, easy way to attain a majority, is to accept the support of any gaggle of misfits that comes their way. this because they don’t “believe” in the WOT, do not take it seriously, and therefore do not think any serious harm will occur if they follow the anti-American theme until they can regain power and return to the “All negotiatio, All the time”, fundementally pacifist appeasement approaches of the past, ala Carter and Clinton, policies that have made the steady growth of militancy all over the world since the days of the overthrow of the Shah in Iran. The real danger lies not so much in the Democrat’s retesence to act, but rather in their over reaction, once the appeasement policies have driven things past the point of no return. Something akin of the “Kennedy blundrers” during the Cuban/Turkey” missle crisus. In other words, too much too late, is the real failing of sitting on your hands, talking, and talking, and talking, while your enemies are busy plotting your destruction. Because of this tendency to react late, and over the top when its too late, the chances of a nuclear conflageration is 10 times more likely under a Democratic administration.

The future: Thia senario of a “late, heavy handed, making up for lost time” disaster, is the one greatest danger of allowing the small vociferous gang of Eurospineys to hi-jack American politics. and make no mistake, it will happen if pacifistic dogma rules once again in Washington. No president, regardless of his party, could standby without extreme reaction if either Israel or America were attacked on a deliberate devestating basis.

The voice is there if we will just listen: The past is the greatest lesson-master of our future – “The greates enemy is the one that moves with stealth among you. The ones that preach to the methods, and means for your demise. You have no choice but to fight against that possibility with even greater urgency and resolve, or you don’t deserve the fruits of Liberty.” – Winston Churchill speaking before the British Parliment on the eve of WWII – 1939

Ah, Holy Pragmatism.  Quite a switch from your building your sterling reputation around here by nobly arguing the moral causes and effects of your villainous Republican strawmen’s centuries of crimes, wouldn’t you say?

‘Course, such equivocation is consistent with your anti-principle bowel movement from a day ago; I’ll give you that.

    Nothing wrong with pragmatism, 6gun.

Cheer up, life is still pretty good in former world like Britain, France, Japan, Italy, Germany, etc.

The only downside is is that instead of actually influencing world events, you just get to act like old men sitting on a porch yelling at kids playing in the street…

  14. Mikey NTH says:

Again, Dan.  Like I said.  The world according to m-bot is “America!-Bad!!”

Nothing else to see folks, thanks for coming out.

  15. monkyboy says:

I never said America was “bad” Mikey.

I see “America bad!” as just another moronic lie of the faith-based community like “Support the troops!” and “Deficits don’t matter!” that has allowed you guys to soak in the warm bath of fantasy just a little bit longer…while your leaders soaked the treasury.

    Two days to go…

  16. TomB says:

MB, do you have ANY concrete ideas as to what to do, or are you just going to continue to whine?

The Bush Doctrine (pushing for at least moderately secular democracy in the ME by many different means) may turn out to be right or wrong, but it is at least an attempt to change the status quo. That is in contrast to the Clinton Doctrine which was ignoring the whole matter for the most part, hoping it would stay away.

Now what is it MB? What are your ideas?

  17. Jamie says:

Friends, Romans, countrymen – don’t you see? Monkyboy, unlike the rest of us, does not suffer from the illusion of permanence that is the bane of every era. He realizes (as none of the rest of us does) that the time when America is indeed a light among nations must eventually end.

Of course, he also believes (first) that that end-time is imminent (and he talks about the “faith-based community” as if he ain’t a part of it) and (second) that he, and we, shouldn’t raise a finger to keep it from happening… which is awfully laissez-faire of him, IMHO.

    Sigh.

  18. 6Gun says:

I see “America bad!” as just another moronic lie of the faith-based community like “Support the troops!” and “Deficits don’t matter!” that has allowed you guys to soak in the warm bath of fantasy just a little bit longer…while your leaders soaked the treasury.

Remember, remember the Fifth of November, when MonkySpunk made his stand against the evil machinery of a Bushco Haliburtonpire.

Proud, noble monkyspunk, courageously inverting reason, manufacturing myth, and standing principle on its head to expose, expose! the villainry of arch rightwing fascists.

I see “America bad!” as just another moronic lie of the faith-based community like “Support the troops!” and “Deficits don’t matter!”

Yes, those moronic liars, the faith-based community of breadwinners and soldiers and lawabiders from the Midwest and their hegemonious boot on the throats of good urban progressive socialists, American marxists, dole-feeders, and all-around appeasers everywhere who preach an earnest and durable tolerance for conservable Midwestern values and a restriction on anything whatsoever that might inflate Democrat social goverment’s equally intolerant stranglehold on personal freedom even further.  That and entitlements.

“America bad”, another lie from the Right.  Another lie like supporting Jay Effin’ Kay’s unsupportable troops and another lie like balancing the unbalanced Democrat entitlement budget.

Another lie like Left is actually Left.

GuySpunk MonkyFawkes.  Soaking in the warm bath of complete incoherency, utterly convinced it’s logic.

“..while your leaders soaked the treasury”

    – This, from the keyboard of the simian douchebag, at a time when tax revenues are at an all time record high.

    – I do not think, after watching your one trick pony anti-American sreech since the first day you posted here, that it’s possible for you to get through a complete sentence without lying, distorting, deflecting, or just generally fucking up with mis-statements monkeyfarts.

    – You sit there with your party basically powerless to do anything but obstruct, and badmouth, and take the arrogant position of some kind of power incarnate, when your self and the rest of your screechers are simply loser’s clamouring for attention, and any table scraps of political handouts you can beg for.

    – Just two more days indeed.

    Hey monkyspunk,

Since you got a whole post devoted to you, did you take the trouble to read the colunm by O.S. Card?

Care to make a thoughtfull comment about it?

I couldn’t find even one small detail to disagree with.

  21. Mikey NTH says:

Why are any of you bothering to engage the m-bot?  You won’t get an answer, just another allegation/off-topic statement.  The m-bot has nothing to add to any thread.  It is anti-democracy, anti-liberty, pro-dictatorship, pro-tyranny, anti-reason, anti-human, and anti-liberal.  I’ve stepped in substances at a landfill that had more worth than the m-bot.  It will never debate, it will never state a position and actually defend it.  It is an auto-reply bot with all of the debating skills of a five year old shouting “I know you are, but what am I?”

Ban it; and if you can’t, ignore it.  There is no there there.

  22. monkyboy says:

    lee,

I disagree completely with OSC (though I like one of his books).

I don’t think anything we’ve done or are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan has made America any safer…in fact, I believe our actions in those countries have made us less safe.

    One concrete suggestion, Mikey,

Search every single cargo ship arriving in America before it docks.

  23. 6Gun says:

From the posts that write themselves department:  Mikey said,

[monkyspunk] is an auto-reply bot with all of the debating skills of a five year old shouting “I know you are, but what am I?”

to which monkyspunk itself immediately obliged with,

Search every single cargo ship arriving in America before it docks.

Good thing cargo ships can’t fly.

  24. lee says:

Why are any of you bothering to engage the m-bot?[…]Ban it; and if you can’t, ignore it.

Because I agree with Mr. Locke when he said:

I don’t want monkyboy to fuck off. I want him to continue at full force. I can’t think of a better GOTV motivation for Republicans. We just need to keep reminding people that this is what Democrats stand for.

If an enemy (politically speaking) wants to hang himself, I’ll get him the rope. (see above, what passes for thoughtfull commentary to a lib.)

  25. TomB says:

    That’s it MB?! Search containers?

Thanks for proving how unserious you really are.

  26. Civilis says:

Search every single cargo ship arriving in America before it docks.

    This is way too easy.

Who does the searching?  Where is the searching done?  Under what authority?  What are they looking for… illegal immigrants, terroists with nuclear weapons, terrorists without green cards, illegal drugs, legal drugs, 250000 Chinese assault troops trying to hold LA hostage, 250000 Chinese illegal immigrants with illegal assault rifles, fattening foods, Elvis, or what?  What happens to the flow of goods into the country with all this searching going on?  What effect does it have on the economy?  Who pays for the program?  Do the workers have health care?  Dental?  A 401K?  Who pays for those?  What about aircraft?  What about Canada?  What about Mexico?  What happens to Mexico when we seal the borders?  What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen European swallow?

It’s easy for primatlad and his cohorts to propose lofty ideas for making the world better.  It’s a shame that they can’t come up with a useful idea…

  27. cynn says:

I intentionally didn’t read anything before the point here.  He/she is usually on the other side of my opinions.  Stop and think before you ignore other ideas.  Just a thought.
