If you peruse the comments of ahems post you will note that we have a major troll infestation going on. All the usual suspects are there, if not by name then by category. Before I get to the topic of this post, I just had to let everyone see a piece of a comment from Morris Berg:
BTW: I am not a liberal or a conservative or a dem or a rep . . .such labels are for small people (I suppose that is elitist as well. . . but shit I am a neurochemist and an attorney and I could beat both your dittohead asses. . . and I know I get laid more often than you ignorant twits).
This concentrated piece of flung poop has it all: the claim that the author is not a Democrat, even though he obviously is one, the claim to an intelligence level higher than all of us morons, backing up said intelligence with appeals to his own authority, the fact that he can kick our assses, and the fact that he has more sex than we do. It’s a picture-perfect statement made by someone with the emotional maturity of a 15 year old boy, a paranoid lashing out at all us horrible people. I salute you, Sir! (or whatever you are).
The thing that really amused me about the comments is the idea that CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, and ABC are right-wing media sites. Truly, anyone who actually reasons things out instead of relying exclusively on their feelings can see what an absolutely ridiculous statement this is. However, once you can truly embrace the liberal mind (which is apparently present, at least in brain-stem form) it’s easy to see how they can believe this kind of stuff. All you have to do is remember one important fact: every liberal is the center of his own universe, and the vast majority of them believe that they are moderates.
Once someone sees himself as a centrist no matter what his political position, then anything to the right of his position must to the right. It’s not too hard to see that a person with a medium-left mindset mindset would see the MSM as conservative. The non-FauxNewz MSM tends to be soft-left(e.g. pro choice, pro taxes, anti-gun) to medium-left(add pro government provided health care and anti “big business”) in the extreme (with a few outliers, of course). A lefty who is medium-left in his positions will think the MSM leans right, when in fact it almost always leans left.
I’m not all that comfortable how I divided soft-left and medium-left hotpoints. It is there to provide an example, not as a necessarily good definition. I await your gentle correction.
I do not claim that the media biases are always overt. Usually, the leftism is merely acting as if the positions taken by the left on certain issues are the correct choices. For example, from my experience, the television MSM are pro-choice and anti-gun. These are their default positions, and you can tell that from the way they report any stories related to those topics. Gun owners and pro-lifers are inevitably portrayed as being slightly nuts, even though their positions are supported by a very large number of people. If anyone ever sees a story in the non-FauxNewz television MSM about guns or abortion that treats the right as if they’re normal, you’ve seen a miracle.
This is ultimately why the libs can’t see the leftward bias. In their minds they are centrists, their positions moderate. And since it seems the majority of them make decisions based on emotion rather than reason, it is quite impossible for them to step back and see themselves for who they are.
Yeah, there’s nothing new here in what I’ve written. Most of the regulars have probably seen this argument before, or have already come to this conclusion. Still, I think it’s worth dragging it out every now and then so people can have a go at it, and election day is a great day for that. Plus, it’ll give a fresh place for the trolls to fling their poop.

Ya know why, don’t you? It’s because they’re nervous about the election results. If they were confident the Donks were going to win, they wouldn’t be tossing so much crap around.
“Moderate” is actually a baby step in the diirection of truth. What you usually get from that type is “I’m a Goldwater conservative, and the only reason I voted Democratic in 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004 is that the GOP has been taken over by extremists.”
That and, if their heaven-on-earth should materialize, they want to be rewarded with us ‘wingers going ballistic the way they did in 1994 and 2000 and 2002 and 2004…
Denying them the satisfaction will of course turn out to be against the Geneva Convention.
Mr. Berg – Hammering your tack does NOT count as “get[ting] laid.”
Damn, I visited the cesspool of trolls. Nothing pithy about those comments, now is there? I knew many liberals in college (dare I admit I was one?) and they certainly perceived the big media as largely conservative. Truth be told, they simply had no idea how “left” they were. Really, what WAS the deal about not bathing?
Well, I’m wondering how Mr. Elitist Attorney and Neurochemist guy could possibly find the time to visit this humble blog. You’d think a real attorney and neurochemist would be so important and busy that almost any blog, a voice of the “small people”, would not be of interest.
Of course, maybe Morris B is bored studying for his Chem101 test.
You know, there was a recent scientific study that suggests that sort of comment is characteristic of a sexually frustrated 15 year old.
Or maybe he’s testing some new LSD or X.
If by neurochemist and attorney they mean someone who likes to fuck with your head and then press charges when you whip their ass behind the dorms, well then…okay
Those liberals are wrong and stupid and I don’t like them. Grab your torch and pitchfork… or your harpoon.
Why would democrats be nervous about the election. What do they have to lose? The Senate? The House?
Listen Hear
Well, if things start going against them real bad tonight, they’ll be back in force. Better lay in some extra rain coats.
Their minds?
Three strikes already, and the polls haven’t even closed.
I waded back into the comments at ahem’s post. They seem to be getting even more shrill. Some of you guys are really doing yeoman duty over there and actually answering them. I’m amazed at your resiliance.
I’ve had two different Democrat calls to my cell phone to get me to go out and vote, one a few days ago and one today. I live in a purple state. They are getting desperate.
Sorry, cranky, but I ran across the perfect example just today.
I took my wife to Hahenemann Hospital in downtown Philly today. While in the waiting room I made the error of picking up a TIME magazine. Just from the little I read there was one complete mistatement about a historical fact and three totallly gratuitous, out of the blue slams at the President or the administration in articles that had NOTHING to do with politics.
The history blooper was a doozy, it ran (approx) “John Brown was caprured by Virginia militiamen”.
In point of fact John Brown was captured by a company of United States Marines, led by, in one American histories greatest ironies, a Regular US Army Colonel named…..Robert E. Lee.
I actually threw the rag down in disgust.
Next time, I bring a book.
I wouldn’t give satisfaction because I do find much, if any, of my self image in politics. Maybe the shirllness, exaggeration and ad hominem come from some of that…but in the end, I don;t care enough to delve into it.
Or care enough, apparently to type very well. I haven’t even opened the Chimay Grand Reserve yet. Sheesh…
– I kind of liked the Lefts attempt at a real build to a Yeehaw moment just the other day, watching it peter out like a Chevy Vega flooding for the tenth time that day.
– I think what you’re seeing is the results of the most “pithetic” mandate in the past 100 years. Hard to be upbeat, when you realize the electorate, as pissed as they are at Bush, still thinks your party has it’s head up it’s ass, and zero idea’s. The DNC is just going to have to try harder. Actually answering the question “what would you Dems do….”, would be a hell of a start.
Interestingly enough, I consider myself a moderate and voted 99% republican this time…because they were by far, the most moderate candidates.
Who the hell is named “Morris” these days?
Just asking.
p.s. the sex was great last night. . .oh me oh my. . .and Moe Berg could still beat your ass!!!
Cheers, twits!
Speaker Pelosi approved this message (Did you know she’s from San Francisco?).
I didn’t realize Moe had a pussy. He looks so butch…
