“Hamas Chief: Truce With Israel Is Over”

Let’s just call it the Pelosi / Reid / Murtha / post-Rumsfeld factor.  From My Way News:

Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal said Wednesday that a truce with Israel is finished and his group’s militants can resume fighting following an Israeli tank attack that killed 18 Palestinians.

Militants will answer the deaths with “deeds, not words,” Mashaal told a news conference in the Syrian capital.

“The truce (with Israel) ended at the end of 2005,” Mashaal said. “The armed struggle is free to resume, and the resistance is dictated by local circumstances.”

The truce formally ended last year but had remained in effect.

Palestinian witnesses and officials said Israeli tank shells crashed into a residential neighborhood early Wednesday, killing at least 18 people, including 10 children, in their sleep.

Security officials said that five tank shells landed in the area near the town of Beit Hanoun within 15 minutes. Most of the casualties were in a row of homes belonging to members of one extended family, officials said.

Sputtered a hungover Trout Fishing in America Shorty, “Fuck Israel.  It’s time to concentrate on important domestic issues, like increasing taxes and bringing back those halcyon days of bobbing interns, massively irresponsible tech speculation, and a concerted avoidance of growing international threats.

“In other words, TONIGHT WE’RE GOING TO PARTY LIKE IT’S 1999, BABY!”

Oh I see. So you perfer the new halcyon days of bent over pages, wars started as photo ops(and then lost) and corporate givaways like the perscription drug bill.

And just for the record, it was Denny Hastart who threatened to defund the FCC back in ‘98 for investigating “aggressive accounting practices”. Look it up.

Not to fear, UNFIL is here! Uh, UNFIL?  Helloooo?

  3. Major John says:

OK, maybe the UN can come up with another force… UNGO?  UN Gaza Observers?

Do you mean Gerry Studds (D-Mass) era?  Those were the days when an actual buggerer could be re-elected 6 times to the house, get a committee chairmanship, and accolades as a champion of libido liberty.

    wars started as photo ops

Sheesh.  After uncounted U.N. resolutions, subversion of inspectors, the oil-for-food scandal, Russian collusion with terrorists, how on earth can you call the Iraq war a photo-op?  Are you ignorant, or just stupid?

    (and then lost)

The war is not lost, but it will be if you and yours dictate policy for it.

and corporate givaways like the perscription drug bill.

With a Democrat congress, the spending will be unbelievable, although first Congress will first lay the foundation to ruin the drug industry.  We won’t need new drugs anyway, though, since in dhimmitude we won’t be allowed medications anyway.

Wars started as photo ops, eh?  Well, I guess so—if you mean that in the same way that the Islamists saw the Towers coming down as a “photo op.” On the one hand, we have a “photo op” for the expansion of democracy and the fight against tyranny—even in foreign lands.  On the other?  A recruiting tool for jihadists.

And the Democrats photo op?  “Yeeeeeeeaaaarrrrrghhhh!”

Of course, were you to read this site with any regularity, you’d know my opinion of the job Hastert’s done, and my many many problems with the Republican Congress.

Bottom line:  the Democratic base is not serious about terrorism. The only thing they care about is power.  They are corrupt and intellectually bankrupt.

Sure, there are a load of Republican politicians who are just the same—which is why in another thread I noted that many of the readers here would gladly vote for hawkish Dems or hawkish libertarians, myself included.

But then, you’re not interested in the actual people you are speaking with, are you, IaintBacchus?

    ,,,wars started as photo ops…

So the confirmation printed by the NYT last week that Saddam had WMDs and trained terrorists until 2003 was wrong? You stupid people don’t even read your own papers.

I tend to go with a commenter over at Belmont Club who suggested that the terrorists are going to start hammering Iraq to compel the Dems to chicken out. Once we’re gone, they go for Israel.

    IaintBacchus,

Ok dillwad, you have 2 years to prove to all of us here, that Dems have no plan for the end of the war, will bankrupt small business by imposing universal health care, allow an open border for every Tom, Dick, and Jihadi to come strolling through.  Not to mention create a safe haven for communication between terroist operatives and the like within the United States. Well you got what you wished for jackhole. 2 years to destroy what we have.  Let me guess, Berkely, right?

sigh…the previous government was deposed and replaced by a government that was democratically elected; the head of the previous government has been tried, convicted and sentenced by the new government; and friggin assclowns still can’t differentiate between a war and a post-war reconstruction…
