Shane’s director, George Stevens, commanded an army photographic unit during WWII. His son published a book containing stills from his dad’s home movies that were shot from D-Day to occupied Berlin.
The home movies are in color. Color photographs of D-Day, the hedgerows, the liberation of Paris. And of Dachau.
