“Haniyeh hopes to see kidnapped journalists released within hours”

From Ynet:

Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said he hopes that “the matter of the two kidnapped foreign journalists will be resolved within hours and that they will be released.”

Haniyeh said that those behind the abduction pledged before the Palestinian government not to harm the captives, and added that he was receiving updates from the interior minister on the matter.

Hmm. Maybe that whole “guest” thing is working, afterall.

Let’s hope.

More here, here, and here.

    Negotiating for more Kiran Chetry?

  2. Foster says:

The “Guest” thing is the P.A.’s way of reminding the captors to treat these guys well and that contact with the media is critical for the Territories. It’s not really as crazy as it sounds.

TW: Is the P.A. able to bring about the release of Centanni?

  3. Yoda says:

What is the P.A. money trail in this matter? Who stands to benefit financially?

The wheels of government turn slow…

    Hmmm.

    Off-Topic:

In other news “ed” has once again been erased from the archives of yet another blog, “WizBangBlog.com”, and quite possibly implicitly banned.

Well that’s two in the last 4 months.  PoliPundit.com and WizBangBlog.com.

Well.  Not everyone enjoys being told that they’re whining when they’re whining.

The good part of course is that I’ll be here a lot more, and doing my part to irritate everybody here.  smile

sw: I have plans you know.  (rather appropriate really)

  6. Dan Collins says:

That’s great.  Good luck with that, ed.

    TW: gone.  So do we.

  7. anonymous says:

Does anyone speak “ed?” and could provide a translation of that post?

  8. Pablo says:

Free at last, free at last. Thank Allah, they’re free at last.

Smartest thing the Palis have done, perhaps ever.

    Anon-

That’s a great idea.  I never knew there was a market for an English to English dictionary, but I will get right on that for you.

  10. ed says:

    Hmmmm.

Does anyone speak “ed?” and could provide a translation of that post?

*laugh* not even I can do that. smile

*shrug* I have a tendency of being very blunt.  Something that not everyone cares for.

    On-topic:

Centanni and Wiig were forcibly, at gunpoint, converted to Islam and videotaped doing so.  But Centanni is believes that it was a “real” conversion since it was a gunpoint.

His problem, and probably Wiig’s problem too, is that conversion is conversion and it’s a one-way street with Islam.  And of course apostasy in Islam is rewarded with a very messy death.

These guys made a deal with the devil to get out with their lives, but this particular devil may end up costing them their lives.

  11. It appears they have been released, after “converting to Islam” at gunpoint.  Because, you know, it’s the religion of peace.

    Sorry, OT:

Jeff, when you get a second, I’d love to hear your take on this morning’s Plame Out story.  Check out Captain’s Quarters piece on the new Isikoff/Corn book that (in between its frantic spinning of the Iraq War run-up) indicates that everyone involved has known for years who really outed Plame, and it was never a hawk trying to bring down Joe Wilson.  It looks like Fitzy and the Leftian Chorus have some ‘splaining to do!

    TW: Peace out… waaaaay out.

  14. syn says:

In the last release tape, Centanni finally reported what MSM has failed to report these last three decades exactly what this war is about: Submit or Die.

tw: Support our troops, America’s True Freedom Fighters, for they are the last thing standing between 14th century barbarism and 21st century civilization.

  15. N. O'Brain says:

    Interesting.

    From CQ:

The entire Fitzgerald investigation is a massive waste of money and energy, an ego project for one man, a wild-goose chase without the goose.

Fitgerald HAD to know who the leaker ws, but transformed himself into the Eveready Prosecutor: he kept going and going and going.

  16. Someone on Ace said that the special prosecutor role seems to corrupt people like the One Ring, they all turn into gollum.  It seems really appropriate.
