Questions for a Saturday afternoon:
Under any authority, anywhere, is holding a tribunal (sans execution as a possible outcome) a war crime?
If Congress gives Bush permission to hold tribunals, will it still be a war crime? Who tries war crimes trials, and does the SCOTUS review them?
Considering that tribunals can also greenlight prisoners for release, is it a war crime to let them go? Bush had no right to let them go, did he? Shouldn’t we round up the ones we’ve released by an illegal process?
If Dubya just gave St. Andy of the Immortal Heart Ache a gullet full of Texas sausage, would he get the hell over it? What if he divorced Laura and proposed? Would Andy be able to see America the Beautiful again if he were to walk down the aisle with that cowboy who haunts him so?
