Friday night video — plus Adult Beverages! [Darleen Click]

First:

thanks to David Thompson

An actual winter storm ala Southern California (stop that scoffing, there, in the back row) may make it here — all the while our rulers in Sacramento are busy telling us It.Wont.Count. towards the 4 years and running drought.

But hey, double our population from 20 to 40 mil in the last 40 years but refuse to build any extra water storage!

Want another story of Hey Let Government Do it and F**k It up? In California, the courts are state-run, but in conjunction with the county government. Each court district is defined by the county they are in.

… and, of course, funding is not even. If your county has more political ‘pull’ you’ll get more dollars regardless of your case load. … but I digress

The county I work for (not a state employee, thank God) has been running its case management system since the time of clay tablet and stylus (a DOS looking interface on an AS400). So for the past 10-12 months they have been working on finally migrating to a new system, New! Improved! Web Interface! WOOHOO! and they made us start using it 3 weeks ago

As of this evening, it still isn’t working. We don’t have our old system (they stopped updating it on 2/11) and we can’t do even the most basic kind duties on the new one.

Now you know what would happen in private industry … but Government??

Which leads right to adult beverages … it’s Friday night and I’m going to risk a hangover tomorrow cuz YOU ALL try supervising 32 women who have redefined cattiness and pettiness this week because of frustration …

… add to that a run to election year conventions with a guy who talks about the size of his penis in a national debate and a woman heading towards indictment who wants to get to the bottom of the UFO issue and I’m just about done with this week …

There is this nice bottle of reposado tequila that we infused with pink peppercorns that is going make an appearance in a shaker with pineapple juice, lime juice, simple syrup and a dash of bitters.

Cheers!

    Greetings:

Printer that I used to be, that musical gizmo reminded me of Mergenthaler’s Linotype machine which had wonderful metal rain on the window sound as it matrices refilled.

Also, one of the local postdigital JV TV stations used to show music videos that featured fanatsy animated instruments that were similarly intriguing in a five or ten minute interval way.

    And here’s my current K-Pop favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW5dNzB5YlA

Here’s one of those animated videos I mentioned above:

Rubio was very concerned about the Donald’s hands, and what that portends regarding his other appendages. It would have been rude to not reassure the little guy.

By the way, anyone notice Marko’s ears? The wife mentioned them last night, I hadn’t paid them any attention before, but good golly them are some flappers! His lobes alone are bigger than my whole ear, and they’re pointed on top like Spock! Obama ain’t got noth’in on that boy.

Anyway, none of that matters. These days we judge a man by the color of his skin, not it’s size.

Rubio is 5’10” … how that translates into “little” I’ve no clue.

Geeeeeeeez. Why not just use goat entrails and sparrow bones?

  8. McGehee says:

That … instrument reminds me of Hex for some reason.

Sherm, I know, but at this moment we don’t have ANYTHING approaching a workable CMS to get calendars … some of the courtroom clerks have taken pity on my clerks and passed on their handwritten notes on daily calendars.

  10. McGehee says:

Hell, Google Apps would have been a smarter way to go. The G would have used the case info to tailor advertising (TOP TEN BAIL BONDSMEN NEAR YOU), but at least the stuff would work.

  11. McGehee says:

As for campaign stuff, it’s important to remember that if your guy wins, you will be required to defend everything he does for the next four years.

If anyone is finding the campaign stressful, that thought should induce a stroke.

  12. McGehee says:

Fortunately, my state already voted, and my guy wouldn’t be anywhere near as hard to defend as certain others already are.

How can I possibly complain about the least bad EMR I have ever seen that I have to use every day after reading Darleen’s tribulations? At least I am running Vista on a 10 year old HP TouchScreen.

You mean like Reagan’s amnesty, H Bush’s tax deals, and W’s Medicaid expansion? Yeah, don’t think so.

Sunday morning sad news, via JeffG’s twitter post: Nancy Reagan dead at 94.
