Hello, all. I’m not going to beat around the bush: I really want to raise the money for a Golden Tee home edition to help finish off my basement. I don’t deserve a cent from any of you, and I’m not going to pretend that any contributions you give are in direct support of pw. They’d be in direct support of an overpriced video game.
That said, I still really want the damn thing. It helps me relax and clear my head.
So if you want to contribute, cool. If not, cool. You’re still welcome here. Unless you’re a baked cod fish. Then you’re just a fucking interloper who hasn’t much of a life to speak of — and you’re here because, well, what else have you got going on? Plus, you make me throw up a little in my mouth every time you belch up your latest iteration of my supposed absence of social worth, so thick and wretched is the projection therein.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks, di!

My dream playroom will have a pinball machine. I don’t know which one, though.
I always wanted the arcade style game of Joust. It’s the one where you’re jousting from the back of a bird.
That and Asteroids are about the only ones I’ve played very much. I don’t have a clue what Golden Tee is.
And if you take that as a hint in case you raise more than you need for Golden Tee, it wasn’t intended…
Golden Tee 3D is a golf game with a trackball.
I bet an actual coin-op arcade cabinet would be cheaper than the Home Edition thing.
But you’d have to be aware if you want the original 1989 version, The 3D or Fore! versions from the mid 90’s, or the 2005-present versions.
Thanks, Billy H.
Thanks, Stephen B!

I’ve looked at cabinets, palaeomerus: ultimately, I like the fact that I can hook the home edition to the TV and slide it out of the way when I’m not using it. Plus, it’s much easier to get the updates. The current edition features most of the courses dating back to 2007 and then select ones from before that. Unfortunately, most of the time I played GT 2000, and the graphics have moved beyond those courses, so I won’t be able to play them.
Not that I’m going to have the money for this anytime soon. But I’m-a savin’!
Thanks, Bryce D!
Thanks, Blitz!

Me?
I’m angling for a Golden Shower machine.
Thanks, SDN!
I just stopped by to tell you how much I fucking love this post.
If I had seen it before I started rebuilding the hubs on my car, I would’ve sent the money to you.
(I got a fitbit instead of the cash I wanted for Father’s day. I think it was a hint.)
