I always thought that n Mexico could wise up a build a few Nuke power plants near the boarder and desalinate water and sell energy and water to the US/CA.
I was thinking it would be neat if the Earth itself could be re-supplied with the raw materials and be our factory. Of course it does it on its own but, I mean we could nudge it along to quicken the process.
