Saturday a.m., Satchel takes part in the Metro League District tournament in the 56 lb division. With my Mom’s death and other distractions, Satch has wrestled less this year than last, but if the last few practices indicate anything, it’s that he’s in good form and, if he keeps his feet back, should have a strong chance of moving on to Regionals.
We’ll be up and on our way by 6:30. Wish us luck!

LUCK!!
Satch will do great … he has an awesome coach.
Go, Fight, Win!
Luck is wished, but you have a skilled and dedicated kid with a motivating coach there and that is what makes a winner. GO Get ’em Satch!
Epador is right; Satchel is the kind of man who makes his luck.
A winner leaves nothing to chance.
Not like I’m saying anything you don’t already know, but I believe that athletic training benefits from cycles of recuperation. Besides giving the body time to fully recover, it gives the mind a chance to reignite a sense of motivation that results in a boost to performance. In any case, I think Satch will be right back in the swing of things despite his recent lighter schedule.
Insert the wrestling equivalent of “break a leg!” (here).
Results: 2nd-place: Major victory; loss by decision in finals. Not terribly on his game, but the goal is States. Right now I have him conservatively as 6th in region. We’ll know in two weeks. Top 8 go on to States.
Good luck to Satchel over the next two weeks (and beyond)
I’m praying you and he get a chance to enjoy each other, the competition and that it would be tons of fun
Congratulations, Master Satchel.
