Mission accomplished [Darleen Click]

Liberal fascism

A Christian couple fined $13,000 for refusing to host a lesbian wedding on their New York farm has decided to close the venue rather than violate their religious beliefs.

Cynthia and Robert Gifford decided not to host ceremonies anymore, other than those already scheduled, Alliance Defending Freedom attorney James Trainor told The Blaze. ”Since the order essentially compelled them to do all ceremonies or none at all, they have chosen the latter in order to stay true to their religious convictions, even though it will likely hurt their business in the short run,” he said.

New Jersey couple Jennifer McCarthy and Melisa Erwin took the Giffords to court when they refused to host their 2012 wedding at Liberty Ridge Farm, where the Giffords host about a dozen weddings a year.

The Giffords were willing to host the reception, but not the actual ceremony.

Not good. I believe that such businesses are actively sought out for lawsuits to get them to close down.

It’s part of the Left’s program to force Judeo-Christianity out of the public square, water down & marginalize the First Amendment and enforce their dogma as the only acceptable one.

This business is in these people’s HOME (a working farm).

The incorporation of the Bill of Rights (or incorporation for short) is the process by which American courts have applied portions of the U.S. Bill of Rights to the states. Prior to 1925, the Bill of Rights was held only to apply to the federal government. Under the incorporation doctrine, most provisions of the Bill of Rights now also apply to the state and local governments.

nr, considering the rule of law is essentially dead in this country, Cynthia and Robert probably took the correct course. Cynthia and Robert appear to be true believers, and decided to “go Galt,” knowing full well that God will look after them one way or another.

    Good on Cynthia and Robert.

  16. Drumwaster says:

WTF happened to “we reserve the right to refuse service at any time”? And where in the Constitution is there a right to not be offended? If enough people are offended by the criteria used to refuse said service, the marketplace will settle their hash by causing them to lose business to the point of closing down. If not, then those who are offended will have to either 1) shop elsewhere, 2) do without whatever is being offered, or 3) turn down their Offendedness Detectors. Or any combination of the three that suits them.

In the sense that they didn’t fold for the gheyNazis, it’s a good thing.

i’d love to have a nice farm to where all kinds of people could come and make a loving commitment to each other and then have some cake

as long as it was somewhere you can’t get lyme disease or that chunky chunky disease

    or ebola

I’d start with just chickens and a goat named The Great Ta

and i should very much like a hillside out back that i could climb up and up and up and look down on the little farm below

I would call it Tolerance Farm and I’d get all my groceries from Amazon Fresh so I only had to go into town on the odd occasion or for when I was craving enchiladas

I’m waiting for the first homosexual couple to demand they be married in a Mosque and then file suit when they’re refused.

I’ll bet a lot of money these wankers damn well know they’re safe picking on Christians, for now, but don’t dare get on the wrong side of Moslems.

  23. happyfeet says:

you should make some sweet potato fries while you wait and some tapatio mayo for dipping

  24. palaeomerus says:

Blake I strongly suspect that the leftist worldview formulae for intersectionality values muslims higher than it does LGBTQ. LGBTQ is good for bashing conservatives and non-aligned christians and that’s about it. Any other target like “women” or “people of color” will likely get them a rough head rocking slap and some time in the quiet desert of shame.

  25. Blake says:

palaeomerus, you just reminded that me there is proof Muslims are more protected than homosexuals. I think Darleen linked to an article about the Moslem who killed 3 homosexual men, Evidently, the murderer used some sort of same-sex hookup app to meet his victims.

If it has been a white Christian killing homosexuals, it would have been front page news for weeks. As it is, I didn’t know about it until I just happened to run across the story.

And, of course, I cannot find a link to the story.

  26. happyfeet says:

a lot of gay people in America ARE christians – probably about half or so

whereas the number of muslims what are christian, I couldn’t even guess

    it’s probably not statistically significant

but if a christian went on a killing spree targeting gay people, there’s a good chance that a lot of that’s gonna be them killing their own people

  27. newrouter says:

    > probably about half or so<

eff u pikachu yellow the "gays" are 3 % eff u commie losers

  28. serr8d says:

LGBQTWTF won’t ever get out of their Desert of Shame, not just because established religions point and frown, but even natural SCIENCE!, led by Ghod Darwin, determined them useless dead-enders, so they must force everyone else into sharing their foul desserts at Point of Law.

  29. newrouter says:

the “gays” are anti darwin clowns!!11!!

  30. newrouter says:

the “proggslams” are anti darwin clowns too

  31. happyfeet says:

no Mr. newrouter what I mean to say is that about half of gay people are religious in America and not sure but the bulk of those are most likely Christians

the number would be higher but a lot of them don’t feel welcome in church, which I’d bet is a lot cause of people like these farm people in the story

and that’s the work of the devil right there

  32. happyfeet says:

here is some data on gay people and religion

  33. Blake says:

serr8d, I used a variation on that argument with my daughter. I asked her point blank how homosexuality promoted the survival of the species.

To my daughter’s credit, she promptly replied it doesn’t. And the discussion ended at that point.

  34. Darleen says:

a lot of them don’t feel welcome in church

griefer, even the Catholic church welcomes gays — we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God.

But just like Jesus said to the adulterous woman, “Go forth and sin no more.”

Identity isn’t a sin, behavior is. These farmers didn’t bar any gay folk from their farm, they even had no objection to hosting the reception.

They just drew the line at participating in, and lending their support of, an activity that condoned sin.

I would support any wedding venue from not allowing members of the Church of Christian Identity or Westboro Church using their facility.

I believe in the First Amendment. But the Constitution is over 100 years old so it doesn’t count any more to the hipsters and gay mafia.

  35. happyfeet says:

it’s in the study i linked

And among all LGBT adults, about three-in-ten (29%) say they have been made to feel unwelcome in a place of worship.

all i know is it wasn’t cause of me I’m always really nice

  36. Darleen says:

say they have been made to feel unwelcome

And as everyone knows, what a person subjectively FEELs is proof positive such an activity took place.

  37. Darleen says:

Some Ferguson looters said they did it because they feel they were owed due to white man oppression, disrespect and no jobs.

Well, I guess that proves White Man caused the looting in Ferguson.

  38. happyfeet says:

well we have a post right here where christians told these people they weren’t welcome to get married at their farm

hence the two lesbian people were made to feel unwelcome i guess

i’m sorry for them how they were treated like that but all i can do is try and treat lesbians nice

i can’t make up for other people

  39. happyfeet says:

brb I’m a get caught up with Leftovers

  40. Darleen says:

So griefer, I guess then you support The State forcing churches/temples/mosques to officiate same sex weddings?

  41. happyfeet says:

    no

  42. happyfeet says:

but people should be more nicer it’s like you said

we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God

and all those people our farm people think are so special that they let them get married right there on the farm

they’re all sinners too, same same as lesbians and gay people and benedict cumberbatch, whatever he is

sinner sinners sinners so there’s no logical reason for to exclude anybody

just bigotry just prejudice just stupidity

people should be more nicer what can i tell you

    it’s a fallen whirl

  43. I would have urged the Giffords to keep on holding real weddings at their farm.

But, they should claim the happy couples are their friends and they are letting them use their site as friends.

If, by some luck, some cash were to be left on the Gifford’s table and not be claimed…well, hey, God works in mysterious ways.

    OUTLAW.

it says they only did like a dozen a year anyways

    they were dabblers

  45. palaeomerus says:

They didn’t exclude anybody. They declined to host a particular ceremony. RTFA, griefer.

  47. McGehee says:

If sin were about logic, there would be more logic.

A homosexual uncle can provide resources and assistance without producing more mouths to consume.

  51. serr8d says:

Provide resources, eh? As long as these resources can arrive post paid.

  52. McGehee says:

…nor hands to help out, nor progeny to perpetuate whatever traits might be beneficial to the species.

Natural selection doesn’t care about “providing resources,” it cares about genes.

  53. sdferr says:

It’s simply incorrect to assume homosexuals don’t have offspring, since many do. And yet this fact has what to do with what?

For a case actual sterility, this line of polemic makes a shining example.

You are for sure a dumb ass. Let me direct you again to the last quote of the post:

The Giffords were willing to host the reception, but not the actual ceremony.

You honestly believe people in a Christian church should be sued if they don’t condone the sin of homosexuality? How about hetro’s “living in sin”? Should Christians be sued for using that term, or not celebrating their “love”?

If you don’t want to follow the teachings of Jesus then go to a pagan for a blessing. otherwise, you’re just being an asshole, which you are.

  56. happyfeet says:

i never said anyone should be sued

i said that these people need to be nice and act like civilized members of their community not some weird hate cult

  57. LBascom says:

If you’re talking about the lesbo hate cult driving Christians out of business, I’d agree. But you are not.

“Cuz you are a weird little person.

  58. happyfeet says:

why you gotta get all personal and shit it’s a fuckin holiday

  59. LBascom says:

You basically told me I’m a member of a hate cult (because I agree with the people in question about condoning what is clearly a sin to Christians), and you act offended at being called a weird asshole? Huh. Maybe you wouldn’t be so sensitive if you didn’t have so much penis stuffed up you.

  60. happyfeet says:
