Portrait of the artist as a crazed lunatic Kos diarist with passive agressive homicidal impulses

Is a progressive jihad in the offing? You be the judge:

We need terror. We need horror. We need the streets running awash in rivers of blood of these thugs and criminals and zealots. Activism didn’t prevent 60,000 deaths in Vietnam. All the activism of the Civil Rights era has gotten African Americans precisely nowhere. Segregation may not be the law of the land anymore, but it’s still the de facto state of America.

When y’all want to start throwing molotovs and sniping from windows come and talk to me. Until then, I will be content to retire, be a hermit, and laugh at everyone.

Sure, that’s one way to go.

But what if—and I’m talking hypothetically now—what if, instead of, y’know, molotov cocktails, we just concentrated on getting you on a regular regimen of Quetiapine and Clozapine?  And maybe just a dash of Haldol?

Because then the streets would be awash in, like, unicorns and giant sunflowers and gnomes in edible panties.  And that’s so much more pleasant than bloody rivulets, don’t you think?

I love it when these poindexters give away what a sheltered existence they live with statements like this.

    Dear “Raybin”,

You mess with the US (or Illinois) Constitution or its People or Property by armed force and I (and the rest of the ILARNG) will stop you.  You may die, you may be wounded, you may just be captured – but you will be stopped.  Howzabout just knocking such foolish talk while you are still alive and in one piece?

  6. The_Real_JeffS says:

My life is falling apart at an equally alarming rate, and yet I feel like doing nothing to salvage it.

STOP SUPPRESSING HIS PATRIOTIC DISSENT YOU NEOCON CHICKENHAWK!!!11!!

  8. What stuns me—but shouldn’t—are his defenders crawling out of the Kos woodwork.

On another site, yesterday, a couple of idiots made remarks about violence against ACLU lawyers. They were jumped on with both feet; while most of the people there don’t care for the ACLU, they realize that violence isn’t the way to solve political differences.

  9. Tim P says:

And these are the folks who are against war, right?  Pantywaist pubescent angst masquerading as political ennui, that about sums up today’s extreme left. If the shit ever really did hit the fan, this quy would be curled up in a fetal position sucking his thumb.

But hey, on a deeper level, if I dare use that word in relation to this little tantrum, it’s reflective of the left in general. Lacking anything of relevance to contribute, except the same tired ideas that have failed elsewhere, they just call us all stupid and ineffectual, unlike the author who ‘gets it.’ Just like the knuckle dragging red staters who re-elected chimpymchitlerburton. They hope to bypass the electorate with activist judges, but that’s not working anymore either.

So in a final hissy fit of infantile rage at not getting their way, they show their true contempt for us all and wish our blood to run in the streets. Why a revolution! A dictatorship of the proletariat! How new!

The problem is all the author and by extension, his fellow travellers on this intellectual chute to nowhere are really showing is how selfish, imature and totalitarian they really are. They are willing to kill to get their way. Well, they’re not going to fight or kill, it’ll always be someone else, but they’ll be right behind them to pick up the pieces.

It turns out that he and his cohorts embody what it is they claim to hate. Therein lies the deep self-loathing and hatred that is the basis of today’s extreme left.

He finally is unable to restrain his self-pity and then gushes,

See what I’m talking about?  I’ve gone from cynicism to hatred to sadness in a few paragraphs.  I’m a broken shell of what I used to be.  Like Humpty Dumpty, I also doubt very seriously if I can ever be put back together.  I’m dissatisfied and miserable beyond measure and no amount of medication, therapy, or vacation seems able to change that.

Pobrecito! What a long strange trip it’s been, indeed.

I have no problem listening to and debating with serious men and women who think differently and who genuinely wish to try to change things by trying to sway the electorate, but this is drivel.

    How pathetic.

  10. MarkD says:

Libs are good at talk and letting somebody else do the heavy hauling.  Their idea of a conflict is name calling.  Escalation means calling a lawyer. I don’t think Major John has too much to worry about.

  11. Farmer Joe says:

Hey, I understand this guy. I’ve been depressed. I’ve dispaired for the society I live in. I’m glad I didn’t have the Internet to make a fool of myself on back then.

  12. Russ says:

Well, technically, violence effectively applied does tend to settle (at least for a while) political differences.  Fortunately, there are other methods to use before reaching that last ditch.

  13. alex says:

Tedious little Neo-Romantic pricks like this believe that ‘segregation is the de facto state of America’ etc. etc. simply because they need it to be true. They need some grand cause to tie their impotent little flag to, and the long tedious business of free individuals making friendships across racial lines without being TOLD to by some grand visionary like our little friend–well, it’s just not something our good little buddy Lord Byron the second can get off on. So they scream that the sky is falling because that, at least, would be exciting. Luckily, most people like this little bitch are too intensely solipsistic to actually act on these miserable wank-fantasies of ‘revolution’–though because actually participating in the boring nuts and bolts of life and the slow process of changing the world by–you know–actually meaningfully engaging in it–generally doesn’t get their rocks off so much, this is only because they take to drugs or Dungeons and Dragons or some other ways of escaping from reality. But I’ll tell you one thing–if this guy’s ever actually volunteered at a homeless shelter or a food bank or even f’ing given five bucks to a charity in his life, I’ll eat, not only a hat, but whatever other five articles of clothing I have closest to hand. This sort of ‘concern’ for humanity only comes from the sort of person who couldn’t give less of a damn about his fellow man.

  14. Sean M. says:

It warms the cockles of my black little heart that the closest the left ever got to violent revolution in this country was back in the late sixties/early seventies, and that went up in smoke (quite literally, in some cases–thanks, LAPD!)

I always get a giggle out of the ‘de facto segregated neighborhood’ schtick because all you have to do to get the babbler to stand there with his gums flapping in the breeze like a hooked carp is to ask if they are proposing to legally bust up places like Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Little Siagon, Little Italy or any other neighborhood enclave where people voluntarily live together.

Heh. I’ve got an old Tom Tomorrow cartoon that lampoons what Esther Dyson said a few years ago. She had said that writers might start giving their “content” away because the cost of reproduction had become so low. Tomorrow found this concept laughable. I find how wrong he was to be a source of constand mirth.

    Hmmm.

Frankly I’ve been expecting a new wave of leftist domestic terrorism a la SDS.

Sure it won’t go far, but they’ll take as an example the eco-terrorism of ELF, among others.  They’ll probably think they’re smart enough, they are leftists after all, to get away with it and that domestic terrorism would display for all of America how shallow and hollow Rethuglican promises of safety are.

Figure either 2008 or later.  If the Democrats take a beating in both races this sort of powerless Red Queen’s Race feeling will probably increase.  What the hell.  Quite a few leftists have found common cause with jihadists anyways.

I fail to see how you can start, or advance, a violent revolution with your (collective) head up your (collective) ass.  I would prefer to not think that I had ever seen so much insipid stupidity in one place at one time.  However, I was impressed by the Kumbayah grouphug.  Awesome.

Aside from that, what do you think the odds are that one of these doofuses could even keep a weapon clean and operating in combat-style situations?

If this is the (semi-sorta-) loyal opposition, it sure is full of lame-o’s.  I mean, with 300,000,000 million citizens (give or take an illegal or two) this guy actually thinks policy should change because “hundreds of thousands” marched, or “millions voted” (not enough millions by 3 million or so), etc, etc want it to?  It’s called winning elections, morons.

And it’s ALL that fuckin’ Bush’s fault!

  37. Mike C. says:

When lefties accuse Bush of being a dictator or Republicans of being fascists they’re projecting. Because that is what they would do if they were in a position to do so. Is there any doubt that if Raybin were king, those of us who didn’t agree with him would be lined up against the wall and shot? They’re not [little-d] democrats. They’re actually contemptuous democracy because it leaves decisions in the hands of the common man, whom they don’t feel is smart enough to make his own decisions because often he makes the wrong ones. They’re wannabe totalitarians because they’re smarter than everybody else and know how everything should be.

In instances like this, I’m always reminded of “civil-rights” attorney Lynne Stewart. While she ostensibly represents the left’s concern for civil rights and the underclass, she also reveals its totalitarian leanings.

I don’t have any problem with Mao or Stalin or the Vietnamese leaders or certainly Fidel locking up people they see as dangerous. Because so often, dissidence has been used by the greater powers to undermine a people’s revolution.

  38. Robbie says:

Here’s a comment from MediaMatters back in February that gave me a bit of a shock.

    re: Coulter:

I personally believe that, in all fairness, others should freely advocate violence against Coulter (and The FReepers). “He who lives by the sword …”, as they say. Those degenerate creeps pretty much deserve whatever they get.

Ward Churchill’s essay, which I just read, was positively brilliant. Moreover, it was something that really needed to be said, for a very, very long time. It’s not Chirchill who needs to be censured, it’s the NeoConNazis currently in power and their fawning media monkeys who deserve some righteous “comeuppance”.

As for Coulter, her bileful screed was well described a while ago as blatant racism, merely substituting the word “Liberal” for [name the minority of your choice]. Alas, I fear there is some truth in the notion that the Left has been too liberal too long—it’s time once again to get RADICAL, and give these “talking heads” something to talk about. Don’t get mad, get militant!

    It doesn’t take a Weatherman …

This was the only thing I’ve seen written on the net that seems to seriously advocate violence. When Ward Churchill spoke in Saskatchewan (Canada) I went to see him and he did advocate violence – not directly of course, merely saying that sitting in circles and wearing beads was somewhat unlikely to bring down the capitalist machine. It appears that this person’s advocation of violence was inspired by Churchill.

And with the reports of partisan tire-slashing and all that in the last election, a progressive “jihad” isn’t quite inconceivable. One might argue that nazi-style intimidation tactics (in the name of anti-fascism of course) have already arrived in America.

  39. Bane says:

  40. runninrebel says:

I here you, Robbie. But I just don’t think these people are anything more than bluster and drama. The worst of them might firebomb a row of SUVs, drive spikes into the occasional tree trunk, or plant a bomb in a laboratory, but they know where the line is and they stay behind hit. If any lefty organization were to commit a domestic terrorist attack of any national consequence, there would be a pretty fierce reaction. Not even the MSM would defend them.

  41. Russ says:

Not even the MSM would defend them.

I’m not even a little bit convinced that that’s correct.

I think the Radical Left has plenty of allies in the media who would be more than happy to extend the “we must understand what we did to anger them” / “one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter” rhetoric to domestic terrorists… as long as the violent actors are of the correct political (or vice-versa) variety.

TW: question.  Why do we never get an answer when we’re knocking at the door, with a thousand million questions about hate and death and war?

  42. McGehee says:

    This part:

My mental state is collapsing and deteriorating almost daily.

…was definitely a Captain Obvious moment.

  43. Daniel says:

The Unabomber was a left-wing wacko who did his thing because of the enviroment. The MSM completely whitewashed it. They even left out the fact that he had a copy of Al Gore’s book Earth In The Balance in his Montana hovel.

Imagine if some anti-abortion nut or whatever had that book written by Rick Santorum or someone like that. You’d never hear the end of it.

  44. Dan Kauffman says:

Not good news from LGF I sure hope its someone who was just depressed and wanted to go out with a bang

    Suicide Bombing in Oklahoma

You’ll have to hunt for the news—mainstream media seems almost totally uninterested—but there was a suicide bombing outside a football stadium at the University of Oklahoma last night: U. of Oklahoma Blast Is Apparent Suicide. (Hat tip: LGF readers.)

  45. Whitehall says:

The problem of Leftist violence can easily be solved using a page from the playbook of Richard Nixon’s campaign organization during the 1972 Republican convention – Qualudes.

I lived in Florida at the time and a few weeks before the convention, the state was flooded with cheap, pharmaceutical Qualudes.  make love, not war, indeed!

This is the Bushies’ big mistake – methamphetamine – it gets ‘em too worked up.  Even E gives its users a sense of moral superiority from an excess of lovey-dovey.  Forget Haldol – where’s the sex angle with THAT?

No, flood the college towns and liberal bastions with cheap, aphrodisiacal sedatives and this liberal noise will die down to a quiet mumble but quick.

  46. mamapajamas says:

Doesn’t this clown remember the Symbionese Liberation Army, the Black Liberation Army, and all the other “revolutionary” organizations that infested our nation back in the late ‘60s, early ‘70s???

Those people failed.  The reason they failed was because they were “civil rights’ed” to death.  The judges weren’t interested in their manifestos, they were interested in who destroyed the business at X address, etc.

The members of BLA who hadn’t yet actually committed crimes quit and went into legitimate politics.

The members of SLA were all jailed.

Other groups disappeared off the map when leaders were caught and jailed… for specific crimes which they had not only committed, but actually boasted about.

This kind of operation only works in 3rd World dictatorships, where the law enforcement officers can be counted upon to arrest people for POLITICAL reasons, thus feeding the propaganda that rights are being suppressed.

  47. Whitehall says:

    Hey Mama,

Maybe a better explanation is that the 70’s saw the trust funds crash and the radical chic faction had work.

  48. Robbie says:

I was going to argue that the majority of the msm would not whitewash far-left terrorism but I can’t. They probably would – I thought the exception would be if the movement became a credible and persistent threat, but at that point they would likely preach compromise out of fear. Here in Canada General Rick Hillier described the terrorists in Afghanistan as “detestable murderers and scumbags” and there were people saying he was asking for a terrorist attack.

But maybe most of the left is not that cowardly, and an actual left-terrorist group would not have real support because they would be poking the dreamworld bubble I think many leftys have where they are the knights in shining armour “in the know” about the true state of things. Armour doesn’t shine so bright when there’s real blood on it – they would probably find it most uncomfortable that someone was actually trying to do “what ought to be done”.
