Another note: beware last minute vote changes by GOP Senators facing possible primary challenges

The permanent ruling class and its guardians know how to protect their own, so don’t be fooled by no votes on cloture by fence sitters once they realize that the requisite votes to defeat a no vote are safely accounted for — mostly from those who don’t have to worry about immediate re-election challenges.

This is how DC operates, and its scumcaked players believe we can be fooled by their calculated deceptions and cynical maneuverings.

There’s an antidote for that, however: if the GOP Senate leadership cannot hold its caucus together to fight for the American people — that is, get a 100% no vote on cloture — then we target the leadership for replacement. McConnell may in fact change his vote today; Lamar Alexander may join him. But because they were giving aid and comfort (and likely direction) to those who have been sabotaging any chance we, the people, have of avoiding being unceremoniously dumped into state exchanges and eventually, single payer care (with Congress and their buddies exempted), they are the problem, both actually and emblematically.

So it is they who will have to go first, and every bit of effort should be put into those fights.

Likewise, it’s time to express our displeasure far more vocally for FOX News’ constant GOP establishment propaganda. Rove is a failed “architect.” And he needs to be run out of DC on a sled made up of stupid stupid white boards. Or if he prefers, he can pull the sled, and Dana Perino and the rest of the Bush-leftovers can ride the thing.

But that station is doing more harm to the conservative movement than MSNBC, NBC, ABC, and CBS combined, as far as I’m concerned — just as are most of the writers at both NR and TWS.

To them, politics is a game. They play it like others play fantasy football. But they are using us as the game pieces. And I refuse to be anyone’s pawn.

Adding to my comment below, I asked the erstwhile staffer whether his boss was going to pay my premium or whether he was going to pay it, seeing as how he’s not tossed into the kettle given Congress has exempted himself.

    That’s when he hung up.

    the “weakly” standard

Ted Cruz has sparked a Republican civil war. He has done the bidding of the GOP fringe, in a self-aggrandizing crusade. And while he has enhanced his own position in the conservative fantasyland he seeks to rule, the practical effect of his quixotic campaign to defund Obamacare has been to elevate the president and jeopardize the 2014 elections for his own party.

The GOP’s “fringe,” according to a poll out this morning, consists of 76% of the party.

Inigo Montoya was last seen looking up “fringe” in the dictionary.
