Darn, I missed Obama’s Syrian speech … [Darleen Click]

Of course, TOTUS was probably having a nervous fit due to all the rewrites today as Putin used Obama like Amanda Marcotte finding a ‘customer reward balance’ on her Adam and Eve Store card.

Did I miss anything, like, important from our Feckless-in-Chief?

Ya missed it? No big deal.

Barky seemed out of touch; it’s as if he’s faking the whole damn show. ‘I’m being sincere! No, really!’

It’s as if this entire Syrian affair is a distraction. Instead of pushing the correct response, which is POPCORN!, he’s played this out as distracting ‘Look! Bunnies!’ so the REAL issues get marginalized. We’ve forgotten the Benghazi anniversary tomorrow, the ObamaCare – Affordable Care Act’s swirling of the drain. The NSA’s all-seeing, all-knowing omnipresence. The IRS is still but a tool of libtards, organized like OFA.

Obama was expected to put on a good show, but his show seemed out of touch.

More fun was the trending #ObamaBattleShipNames.…my fave? Uss CoGniTive DiSSonaNcEnce. Because that’s the tune Barky danced to tonight.

    Oh, and pinpricks.

    That was a visual I didn’t need…

I was at the twins’ soccer practice, then on homework detail as #2 had work tonight. I found the 10 year olds much more intellectually stimulating than anything I anticipated from Baracky …

  4. serr8d says:

I just caught the tail-end of the repeat. After his last line, “…and God Bless America.” I do believe he stood there and cut a fart.

    MORSE. IS. RECALLED.

****Why is this not on PW yet??****

Obama will take credit for all that is good, fine, and moral in the world and place the blame for all that isn’t and all that he can’t fix yet on his political enemies who support all that is bad and evil in the entire world.

Now consider that he is an unmitigated liar, reverse all that he says, and you will have a good picture of what he is doing and wants done.

    Transcript.

This part raises questions as to how advanced the Syrian program is.

Assad’s chemical weapons personnel prepared for an attack near an area where they mix Sarin gas.

Modern munitions have two separate components of the “gas” inside the shell which mix during flight to form the Sarin. This solves the problem of shelf life and makes the munitions safer to handle. Even Iraq of over 10 years ago used this “binary” type chemical weapon.

2004: Iraqi insurgents detonated a 155 mm shell containing binary precursors for sarin near a U.S. convoy in Iraq. The shell was designed to mix the chemicals as it spins during flight. The detonated shell released only a small amount of sarin gas, either because the explosion failed to mix the binary agents properly or because the chemicals inside the shell had degraded with age. Two United States soldiers were treated after displaying the early symptoms of exposure to sarin

Why wouldn’t Syria also? Mixing the precursor chemicals to form the Sarin on site and pouring it into the munitions is very dangerous.

Very odd for a supposedly professional military.

I didn’t miss it. Not one bit.

I watched with the sound off. I paid a local used car dealer $20 to stand in front of the TV and tell me about the “cherry” 2003 Cadillac ElDorado he has in his lot.
If I’m going to be lied to at least I want to be entertained.

Some of the genius commenters over at Mother Jones think that Arabs are not Caucasians.

That’s about what I expected, actually.

If we’re going with classical racial divides, do they suppose that Arabs are Mongoloid? Negroid? Some other classification?

It’s fine to eschew classical racial divides, but what it’s not fine to do is to have them mean something they manifestly don’t mean.

Only in a liberal mind is race important in this instance.

  12. sdferr says:

Timeliness (to say nothing of seriousness of purpose) isn’t a criterion in The Disaster’s world, so he’ll surely forgive those of us who missed something he may believe necessary.

If he would protest, we need only remind him that he missed the Iranian Green Revolution in 2009, not realizing it was significant until three years later; that he missed the critical golden hour of decision as the attack on Benghazi began, forgoing an opportunity to come to the aid of Americans under attack, about to suffer death in the nation’s service; that he missed the early and simple moment to engage and support the Syrians in protest against the dictator al-Assad in the spring of 2011, before they had been slaughtered by the hundred thousand.

But will we Americans forgive ourselves, when at our leisure we discover that The Disaster, in our name claiming justice and right, though through His Will, proposes and accomplishes an unceasing multitude of actions destructive of our polity, from the annual flood of corrupt “stimulus” to the confiscation of GM bondholders’ property, from the PACA to the tiniest EPA regulation, from the simultaneously insufficient mustering of our Armed Forces in Afghanistan with a pledge to surrender the place (come what waste of effort may) a couple of years later, to a de facto alliance with al-Qaeda in Syria now?

Sure we will, without a moment’s hesitation. Heck, such slaves are we become, we won’t even discover a need to rid ourselves of this Disaster, this ponce who scatters ruin like mustard seed. Possibly worse, many of us will declare that it is because The Disaster will remain in office another three years that the nation ought to surrender to His Will to go to war, and thus to “save face”. We wouldn’t want to lose credibility!

It’s a comedy. There can’t be any doubt at this point.

  13. geoffb says:

    Black comedy.

  14. Matt says:

Ace raised a good point last night. The Asshole in Chief said

“And so to my friends on the right, I ask you to reconcile your commitment to America’s military might with a failure to act when a cause is so plainly just.”

    vs

“To my friends on the left, I ask you to reconcile your belief in freedom and dignity for all people with those images of children writhing in pain and going still on a cold hospital floor, for sometimes resolutions and statements of condemnation are simply not enough.”

Seriously, King Putt can suck it. Suck it long and suck it hard (Trebek!). You’d think the President of the Freakin United States would be above taking a “shot across the bow” at his fellow citizens (who are his fellow citizens, even when they disagree with him) but I keep forgetting, to him, we’re the enemy and Assad and the Muslim Brotherhood are his friends. Because racism or something.

“You’d think the President of the Freakin United States would be above taking a “shot across the bow” at his fellow citizens (who are his fellow citizens, even when they disagree with him) but I keep forgetting, to him, we’re the enemy . . . ”

Actually, this can‘t be news (hence, we wouldn’t “think”), since The Disaster made this stance quite clear in His First Inaugural Address. And in his every act since.

    Classic…

I had to go look her image up on Bing to feel the full visceral effect.

  17. leigh says:

Talk about a naked appeal to emotion. He would have looked more sincere wearing the rodeo clown mask of himself.

  18. Ouroboros says:

Nuance.. That’s what you missed. Nuance.

  19. Blake says:

Commenter Dutch at Diplomad referred to the speech as “The Bray of Pigs.”

    I’m still laughing.

  20. Blake says:

I got it wrong, it’s “The Bray of Prigs.”

    Either way works.
