“Bozell: Press are ‘Enablers’ of ‘Outright Bigotry Against Christians'”

More phony rightwing attempts at playing the victim card. I mean, honestly: a war on Christians? Are we supposed to believe that kind of pathetic neediness from the very religious, patriarchal strata that continues to dominate our culture and reify — not to mention lionize — its values through dogmatic infiltration of God into the social and political discourse?

Pshaw, I say.

Crass, opportunistic identity politicking — the kind of garbage that assures we on the right can’t simply put aside the divisive social issues and concentrate on the kind of things more popular with moderates and centrists. Like, for instance, our capitulation on raising taxes, our refusal to fight Obamacare’s implementation, our surrender on the “fiscal cliff” and the various continuing resolutions and debt ceiling fights, and our newfound love of the illegal brown man and his innate conservative, which we will nurture and bring forth from them. After, like, 1000 years of permanent progressive rule.

I blame Sarah Palin. For, like, everything.

There is no war on Christians like there is on women. Really, really, see “faith” is mentioned, sorta.

  2. sdferr says:

Dang Christian tenets keep on creeping in, despite our better efforts to blast them from sight. For instance, take the blow across the face demanding a mandatory imposition of ObamaCare taxes. Fine. Cheek struck. Now turning, take another blow across the opposite cheek waiving the imposition of mandatory ObamaCare taxes on the deserving workers up on Capitol Hill. Dagnabit. Turn again lilylivers, ’cause here comes another one and ya’ll need to be ready to absorb it.

  4. palaeomerus says:

Look Geoff, hiding your cash in your shoe is making war on muggers uh…I mean my fellow down on their luck brothers and sisters of all races, creeds, sexes, colors, religions(except Christianity), or other ethnically diverse backgrounds who are in every way my equals fully deserving of respect and support as any human being. Except for fuckin’ shitty racist sexist homophobic antisemitic spiritual raping crooks (laundry list continues) like those crazy terrorist tea party conservatives. And those turncoat white hispanic thingies I hear about more and more these days.

  5. There’s no “War on Christians”, there’s the “moral equivalent of war” on hym-singing, churchgoing, godbothering, moralizing, bible-reading, married-getting, families who’ve been living life according to a tradition and rules laid down thousands of years ago by a guy who was not only a communist, but also probably gay and almost certainly African-American, and any way those rules weren’t actually written down until AT LEAST 1800 and when they were it was by white, southern, slaveowners who hate the gays, so the rules that the cool, communist, homosexual, Arabic, black guy wrote were obviously, almost exactly the OPPOSITE of what the mainstream America thinks of “Christianity”… and isn’t Sara Palin stupid?

I know this is true because my older brother told me so on Facebook and all his freinds liked it.

    He’s 46.

Also, a truly wicked thing is that the locus of accountability is shifted from the individual actor to the group to whom he belongs. If you’re “in power” (as defined by whom?) you are guilty of all of the sins of the powerful: racism, bigotry, oppression.

Listen to this bilgewater from Oprah about being dissed by a Zurich shop assistant.

To me, it sounded kind of typical for a non-American business. Here in the U.S., the customer is always right. ALWAYS. But in other places, the shopkeepers feel free to push their own agenda despite the wishes of the customer. Maybe the assistant was told to push one kind of bag instead of another. Maybe that “more expensive” bag wasn’t. Maybe it was bait and switch. Maybe the assistant was prejudiced against Americans.

Or maybe it was racism. But how can Oprah tell the difference? I’ve been dissed by European service people while in Europe. I’ve been ignored or overlooked here in the U.S. I’ve experienced a lot of the slights that blacks cite as evidence of racism.

She went ahead and cited the “power over other people” canard, but Oprah honey, on no planet do I have power over you or Michelle Obama or Sasha and Malia or Valerie Jarret or even the woman down the street who doesn’t speak a word of English.

Get over yourself, you spoiled American.

  15. geoffb says:

Lee, that’s the same couple’s story that I linked to in the first comment but in that one the threats were not mentioned. What “The Blaze” leaves out is that the couple are Mennonite and have been in this business since 2002 there.

So, the judicially created “right” to one’s own legal definition of marriage is not enough and must include a right to have the marriage performed, for a fee, on private property. Does this new “right” hamper one (that’s actually in the Constitution) to free exercise? No problem, the latter will just have to yield.

Glad to have the additional information from “The Blaze”.

if “christians” don’t like being on the pointy end of bigotry the first thing they should do is stop being bigots

my personal rule is to do unto others as I would have them do unto me

    it’s in the bible

if errybody did this it would go a long way I think towards putting things to rights

but honestly I think a lot of them wallow in victimhood like pigs in mud

I would bet though – and this is just my persona opinion – that it’s a whole lot more fun to wallow in victimhood when it doesn’t cost you for reals monies

    but to each their own

but since common decency doesn’t seem to work maybe extending the experience of being told to go somewhere else we don’t want your filthy money to people like the ones in Grimes Iowa might could help everybody have a breakthrough to where people are just nice to each other

but I just don’t have the heart personally to execute such a plan

    it’s just not me

  20. happyfeet says:

  22. Darleen says:

Should a black photographer be forced to cover a wedding at a Christian Identity Church?

  23. Darleen says:

What if the couple that came into that wedding venue wanted to have their ceremony done completely in the nude?

This wasn’t discrimination against the orientation of the people, but a demur in participating in an event.

but for the most part they tend to be uneducated ignorant people in places like Grimes Iowa

it’s not that big a deal

all i’m saying is these mennonite bigots is gonna reap the shit out of what they sow I bet

Des Moines is NOT a hot bed of anti-gay bigotry

  44. leigh says:

If queers want to be taken seriously and mainstream with the rest of us, then they need to lay off terrorizing Christians and other people of faith for not bending to their wishes. Making people do things they that are against their religion is bullying.

“the Lord works in mysterious ways and if He sends gay people to your door what want to give you monies, you should not doubt His purpose”

They have a different “Lord” than you. Thiers is a Carpenter from Nazareth. He was sacrificed to forgive sin, not justify it.

Also, You should be more precise with your words, like bigot. It’s like if you went to McDonalds and ordered steak and eggs, and they told you they don’t do steak and eggs. That doesn’t make them bigots. However, if you are intolerant of McDonalds menu, and threaten to run them out of business because they won’t serve you steak and eggs, then perhaps it’s YOU that is the bigot.

  48. palaeomerus says:

“the first thing they should do is stop being bigots ”

    There is NO SUCH THING.

The left is not about solving problems. It’s about forming, maintaining, and exploiting them with stupid grievances through the constant unhinged, insipid, bigoted, and frankly stupid whining of self-righteous, hyper-emotional, useful -idiot concern trolls like yourself who like to tell people what to do so when they do it they can tell them something else to do.

  49. palaeomerus says:

“science is my favorite Mr. newrouter it’s really fascinating ”

Bullshit. A scientist could NEVER write something like ‘Hills Like White Elephants’. That takes a greater sort of mind. The kind that blows its own brains out after a life of philandering and trying to be hyper masculine while writing increasingly tiresome stories about frustrated but surprisingly well fed ‘outcasts’ in short, declarative sentences.

  50. LBascom says:

“gay people aren’t antithetical to christianity

you can tell cause of how gay people aren’t running around refusing to do business with Christians”

Unless they are boycotting Chick-Fil-A. Or threatening to run people like the Odgaards out of business if they don’t submit.

Actually, they aren’t antithetical to fake christianity like yours, but real Christianity is a different story…

  51. Mueller says:

Christians are easy to make fun of because they won’t cut you’re throat or sue you. They’ll annoyingly pray for you, but you can look at that as insurance and it isn’t all bad.

DesMoines, pika, is best experienced from someplace that isn’t near DesMoines.

  52. Mueller says:

    Or Madison.

  53. leigh says:

As geoff noted, the Odgaards are Mennonites who, like the Amish are non-violent and won’t seek redress from the justice system. Real fucking brave there, faggots. Picking on someone you know won’t fight back.
