red pills found behind the sofa cushions, analepsis 10

Sure, the CIA has encouraged the mullahs to believe otherwise; but I have it on peacoat-clad authority that Iran is really not particularly close to acquiring nuclear weapons—though they are quite close to acquiring a series of heavy cylindrical encasements, each one forged from titanium and lead, and each one containing a large, meticulously-trained sugar beet that, in addition to being able to perfectly mimic the sound of a Geiger counter, has been painted silver and microwaved repeatedly “until it kinda sorta glows…”

    Heh:  “peacoat-clad authority.”

  2. Jeff Goldstein says:

Shhhh.  He’s still mostly covert.  Unlike, say, Valerie Plame.

  3. Tipjar Hopscotch!  Whoever lands on a comment divisible by five has to slip Jeff a fiver.  Agreed?

Turing = time, as in It’s time to turn this blog into the money machine it was meant to be!

  4. B Moe says:

I just wonder how close they are to acquiring some cylindrical objects via US Air Mail.

  5. ahem says:

Jeff: I think, in these perilous times, we’d all be well advised to play down the possible military uses of the nuclear Sugar Beet. Loose lips, as they say….

The Mangold Wurzel, on the other hand, is surely one of your less potent ballistic root vegetables

  6. mojo says:

Not to contradict the Delphine Oracle, for whom I have great personal respect, but I have it on good authority (although hush-hush and strictly on the Q.T., wink wink) that they already have a nuclear Potato.

Boy. When roots vegetables go bad…

    SB: work

I had to for that one.

  7. JWebb says:

Is it true there are already seven strategically placed, forward deployed suitcase nukebeets in various US cities?

  8. Wadard says:

It would be the best thing if Iran did get nuclear weapons, mainly because it will stop another unwarranted invasion, occupation and subsequent disaster.

  9. Wadard: How will Iran having nukes prevent Iran from exterminating Israel?  Moral equivalence is like suicide, pal; it’s the easy, cowardly way out.

  10. Is anyone else a bit worried by the tendency for leftist cant to become, well, openly treasonous?

  11. Wadard says:

MAD, Sanity, if you are picking up what I am dropping smile

I have no idea what you mean by ‘moral equivalence’. All I know is that a lot of Jews say it when running thin on arguements defending Israel’s occupation of Palestine. WTF is moral equivalence? Are you saying your morality is better than mine?

To be quite honest with you – I couldn’t care much at all about what happens to Israel in the middle east. They made their bed … they must lie in it.

Any sympathy I had for Israel was exhausted after Rabin was assasinated by Jewish terrorists and the Israeli people let these terrorists derail the peace plan that Rabin had negotiated. I thought to myself that these RW Israelis (and many Jews in the diasphora) carry on and on about Pali terrorism and how it will not affect them, yet they crumble when it is Jewish (or should I say Zionist?) that is holding everyone’s security to ransom. I suppose they can’t see the log in their own eye.

Nevertheless, since Israel has nukes, if everyoine else in the ME had nukes then deployment by any aggressor will esult in Mutually Assured Destruction, or MAD. It’s a well known concept .. I am surprised that you did not consider this before you asked the question.

Oh my god, what a worry wart? Take some valerian honey and have a lie down – just watch for the reds under the beds.

  13. Fred says:

Mutually Assured Destruction only works with sane people, Wadard.

Islamofascists are insane.  Dude, they think they get 72 virgins for killing infidels if they die in the process.  Can you process that?

They want to die.  Don’t take my word for it, though.  Read their own words.  They hate Jews more than they love the lives of their own children. That simple fact, once grasped, will also help you understand the charge of “moral equivalency” that you apparently are struggling with.

I bet I’m just wasting my time here, trying to “engage the dialogue”.

  14. David R. Block says:

Well, gee Wadard, where would you put the Jews? The Roman Empire displaced them, and now it’s not around any more. But evidently, putting them back where the Romans ran them off from simply isn’t in the cards.

    So what do you do?

  15. docob says:

Looks like wad-boy is a little “quick-triggered”. He’s been splattering himself all over the threads this morning. In a stroke of subgenius, he even pulled the old chickenhawk canard on the Cindy/Bill Jack thread.

Subgenius – brilliant!  Also a Church of Bob reference, mayhap?

“Well, gee Wadard, where would you put the Jews?”

    Answer: Into the ovens!

The mulluhs are already on record as saying they can take the hit, but that Israel will be destroyed in the exchange and that they can live with that loss.

    Call any vegetable.

    Call it by name.

    Call one today

‘Fore you get off the train.

    Call any vegetable

    And the chances are good

the vegetable will respond to you.

  18. docob says:

Just a little bit. I don’t claim to be a member of the Church or anything.

  19. gail says:

None of the root vegetable in my acquaintace would engage in such duplicitous activity.

  20. TEHRAN 14 Dec. (IPS) One of Iran’s most influential ruling cleric called Friday on the Muslim states to use nuclear weapon against Israel, assuring them that while such an attack would annihilate Israel, it would cost them “damages only”.

Of course the source is only the Iranian Press Service and they are only a mouthpiece for Iranian government, so don’t listen to them.

What little waddie can’t seem to grasp is that when one of your actors is mad, MAD won’t work.

  21. McGehee says:

When, oh when, will we address the root (vegetable) causes of terrorism?

Is it because we use too much stick and not enough … carrot?

  22. Lew Clark says:

What you fail to realize is the many peaceful uses of enriched, weapon’s grade, uranium.  Why there’s, uh well there is always…..  I’ll get back to you on this.

Actually, theoretically, you could use highly purified uranium as the fuel in a neclear power plant.  But it is so dangerous that only crazy people try it.  Can we say Chernoble.

The only rational reason for Iran’s pursuit of weapons grade fissionable material is WEAPONS.

We can argue whether they are 10 years or 10 minutes away from “the bomb”.  But, there is no argument, they want the bomb, they will have the bomb.

So we’re left with the “Fram Oil Filter” question.  Do we stop them now, or do we stop them later.  And that mechanic dude says, do it now, cause later is a lot more costly.

  23. Farmer Joe says:

Nevertheless, since Israel has nukes, if everyoine else in the ME had nukes then deployment by any aggressor will esult in Mutually Assured Destruction, or MAD. It’s a well known concept

One which the left was against when it was being employed here, of course.

In any event, MAD doesn’t inspire quite the same level of confidence when one side feels that’s it’s glorious to die for one’s cause. One doesn’t get quite as sanguine about the defensive intent of a side that prays weekly for their god to “shake the ground” under their enemies.

TW: “Students,” as in, of, like, the world and stuff.

  24. AWG says:

Are you saying your morality is better than mine?

    Yes.  Absolutely and unequivocably.

    Next question, please.  LOL

  25. ahem says:

The Leftist position is openly treasonous.

If you doubt that, try imagining what they would do if they were openly trying to subvert the efforts of our government. Wouldn’t differ much from what it is now, would it?

  26. If you doubt that, try imagining what they would do if they were openly trying to subvert the efforts of our government. Wouldn’t differ much from what it is now, would it?

Well, they could be committing acts of violence instead of just fervently wishing someone would do it for them.

  27. Wadard says:

I never said anything like that so don’t try and take the arguement in that directionm, or you will come short. Put them in Mesopotamia if you like, or Egypt, or Syria – the land belongs to the Romans who defeated them in 60 someting AD, and the inheritors of the Roman Empire – the Franks & Ottomans. The Jews had their rebellion, and lost. Only fair – spoils of war, buddy. I am just anticipating the next part of your arguement which goes – the the occupation of Palestine past the green line is legit because the Arab countries lost the territory in the 67 war and it is the Palistinians that should leave.

What I said was .. whatever the relations Israel has with it’s neighbours has been well earned. They made their bed .. they lie in it. A universal truth. I include the good reations with Egypt that Israel enjoys in that observation.

As for whether MAD works or not – I don’t really care – my reasoning is that it will stop the US invading Iran for their oil and as such is a legit defensive strategy. Let’s face it – there were no WMD in Iraq. Any fear about Israel being nuked is a red herring put up by folks that want only Israel to have the bomb.

SAD fukka id that is what you think I said. That is what you want to think I said to satisfy your sense of persecution perhaps, but it is not what I said. My orig. pt. is that the world is a safer place if Iran has nukes.

  29. RS says:

    This is … fascinating

    Better than premium cable!

  30. Wadard says:

    glad you like it. ciao

  31. Let’s face it – there were no WMD in Iraq.

Tell that to the Kurds who are still suffering the after effects of gas attacks.

(And if you knew before hand, why didn’t you let anyone know? Every damned government in the world—including Saddam’s!—thought he had a weapons program and stockpiles. How dare you sit on your absolute knowledge and let people die!)
