Sheehan: Usama bin Laden “allegedly” behind the attacks of 9/11.

And she’s right, of course:  bin Laden’s own admission of guilt needs to be more carefully scrutinized, the very fact of his being brown and “Other” suggesting he’s quite incapable of doing anything without the aid of those earnest white liberals who presume to talk for him and the rest of the noble savages, they of the brilliant flowing robes and delicate, sand-rimmed sandals whose inveterate gentleness makes their “alleged” complicity in the toppling of the towers absurd on its face.

Sorry.  Just not buying it, Cindy isn’t.  After all, George Bush is the world’s greatest terrorist:  maybe he was behind the whole thing.  And besides, didn’t she hear somewhere that 400 Jews didn’t show up to work at the Towers that day…?

****

update:  For those of you concerned that no official transcript of today’s remark has been released, please note that this is not the first time Sheehan has questioned bin Laden’s participation in the 911 attacks.

  1. Gee, I heard it was 4000 Jews, which would translate to 400 minyanim.

  2. ahem says:

Yeah, that Osama. He’s always pulling your leg. He’s such a card…

tw: Six. Cindy Sheehan makes me six.

  3. TallDave says:

Hey, leave Osama alone.  His dissent is the highet form of patriotism.

  4. mojo says:

Well, he has to be “alleged” – he hasn’t been tried yet, by a jury of his peers, and found guilty! A mere jubilant confession of guilt just won’t cut it, even if your perp spits on the very legal system you hold up as the standard by which to judge him!

    Osams’s cool, y’know –

    BECAUSE OF THE HYPOTHALAMUS!

    SB: shall

    we dance?

  5. Drumwaster says:

“I’ve never said I speak for every Gold Star family. But I know I speak for thousands of them.”

Amazing that she speaks for “thousands of them” when we still haven’t reached that point at which we could actually use the plural. And I’d bet most of those disagree with her in every way imaginable.

SW: “several”, as in the REAL number of Gold Star families that Casey’s mother might be speaking for…

  6. Ken J says:

Cindy and her followers really can bring Americans together to oppose the war. Is there anything we Americans like more than self-pity and self-righteousness? Because if there is, I’m hard pressed to find out what it is.

    Commercial:

“Hey, you got your self-pity in my self-righteousness”.

“No, you got your self-righteousness in my self-pity”.

    (together) “Mmmmm…delicious….”

  7. John says:

I’m not sold on the authenticity of this quote.  Notice that NR didn’t link to a source, nor place the word ‘allegedly’ in context.

  8. Dorian says:

Bush (aka Shiva) needs to apologize for all his atrocities: Krakatoa, Hurricane Andrew, 9/11 and the Shoemaker-Levi 9 impact on Jupiter, to name a few.

  9. BLT in CO says:

The linked article contains a picture of Cindy in a field of erstaz crosses crouching over Casey’s, holding it and pensively scowling.

But how unbelievably staged is this image?  She’s behind the cross and cannot read the name.  The portrait at her feet is backward to her view and is facing the camera, as is she.  The sun at an angle so as to aid in composition and not interfere with the shot.

Are we to conclude that she’s truly contemplating her son’s life and tragic end?  Or more likely that she’s been positioned carefully to create a dramatic pose?  That she’s more concerned about how she appears and the imagery of her sorrow than the actual sorrow itself?

I didn’t doubt her grief before, but I surely doubt her sincerity now.  Mugging for the camera, daily press conferences, and strategizing sessions do not portray grief so much as cold calculation.

  10. Jeff Goldstein says:

    John —

Well, it’s completely consistent with other things she’s said, I’m afraid.  And given that it’s taken from a press briefing given by Sheehan (which is the source), I’m inclined to believe it.

  11. John says:

    Oh, it’s true—she’s a moonbat.

But it’s still sloppy reporting on the part of the National Review.

  12. Sean M. says:

That “confession” of Osama’s is worthless.  He was never Mirandized.

  13. welllll, john, i can kind of see your point, but it doesn’t appear that transcripts of what she said are readily available. unlike the president. WHAT IS CINDY TRYING TO HIDE!!!!!?????

  14. OHNOES says:

Must… pity, must not hate. Must pity this woman…

    “It’s no good… I can’t do it!”

Graaaaaaaagh! YOU ARE TOO STUPID TO LIVE, SHEEHAN!

Turing word “use,” as in “Sheehan is a stinking tool.”

  15. sergio says:

What did Cindy know and when did she know it?

Oh hell man, sorry. I try to uncheck those sorts of boxes. Cannot believe I kept missing that one.

  18. Jeff Goldstein says:

    No problem.

  19. JorgXMcKie says:

Last night I saw The Old Hag greeting supporters with a smile bigger than on a 20lb Halloween Jack-o-Lantern.  Grieving, yes, she is.

tw: appeared: The Old Hag appeared to be nuts.

  20. I heard today that she has also called the Iraqis fighting against our soldiers “freedom fighters.” angry

Now gee, where have we heard that one before?

  21. Huck says:

    Jeff:

Smear merchant!!!!  Oh, and notice I said, “merchant”.  And you’re Jewish…and a merchant…coincidence?  I think not.

  22. Jeff Goldstein says:

PRICK ME, DO I NOT CALL MY LAWYER?

  23. Geeze, even me, sweet and understanding beyond reasonable limits, me..is starting to really really get ticked off at this woman.

  24. Huck says:

Brilliant reposte Jef! I was going for a “Merchant in Venice” vibe.

  25. mojo says:

Better move to Venice beach, Jeff…

  27. A fine scotch says:

The quality of moonbattery is not strained

It droppeth as the gentle rain oppressing our Arab brothers

Upon the place beneath where the Halliburton cabal and its NeoConservative/Zionist masters demand we wage war for oil

(Never thought having to memorize that soliliquy would ever come in handy…)

TW – further.  As in – This thread should probably go no further.
