Once you’ve decided to embark on a political show trial…

…in which the prosecution proceeds with charges the evidence clearly and facially doesn’t substantiate, withholding information from a judge to do so, and then looks to punish not an individual for his alleged misdeeds, but rather a narrative about continued and persistent institutionalized racism it has itself, along with professional rabble rousers (are you one of them outside agitators?) masquerading as civil rights proponents actively helped nurture and promote, with American whites (or, now, what are forever to be known as “White Hispanics”; welcome to the uberclass, George!) cast as de facto racists whenever violence is perpetrated against a person of color and, regardless of the circumstances or the findings of law enforcement, forced to prove their own innocence of mind, it really is just a short step to further perversions and absurdities, such as the prosecution asking a jury that already knows the “wrong” verdict could bring about rioting, fomented by race hustlers and a media practically orgasmic to cover such a thing, to consider the charges of “child abuse.”

That is, they are now asking the jury to take into account the media’s widely disseminated photo of a young Trayvon Martin, adding to the postmodernist surrealism of this case.

So, a quick breakdown (from memory):

1) The case comes to national attention when it is misreported that a white shot a black boy in the back.

2) The race industry springs into action, condemning the action without having the facts.  The media dutifully follow along.  Zimmerman is incorrectly identified as a TEA Party supporter by a “neutral-media” just looking to fact find, leading to threats made against another man entirely.  Obama perversely gives his imprimatur to treat Zimmerman as a pawn in a larger racial narrative.

3) When the facts begin to deviate from the early narrative, the media works to regain the footing of that original narrative, misrepresenting Zimmerman’s injuries, promoting a visual of Martin that is meant to paint him in the most sympathetic light, doctoring 911 call recordings and then disseminating them, rather than adjusting their story or admitting their intial error.

4) “White” is expanded to include “White Hispanics,” who despite having recent black relatives, are inauthentically part of an underclass / ethnic group traditionally championed by the racial grievance industry.   Thus, we are given the “white” on “black” crime, and the privileged vs the victim class.

5) Attempts are made to discredit law enforcement and their initial investigation.

6) Political decisions are made that override law enforcement’s findings.

7) A separate investigation that should have led to exoneration and the refusal of the state to bring charges against Zimmerman was nevertheless weighted with political calculus.  Zimmerman is charged with a crime there is no way the prosecution can ever prove beyond a reasonable doubt, withholding evidence from a judge to gain the opportunity to proceed.

8. The case, nationally televised, continues to show that there is no basis whatever for the charges.  And yet Americans know implicitly that there are other factors the jury is being pressured take into consideration, including the not-so-vague threat of race rioting.  So they sit glued to their TV sets, wondering if justice or political correctness and the threat of mob violence will prevail.

9.  The prosecution, having invested so much political capital into the case, ends the trial by asking the jury to convict Zimmerman of something, even if its of abusing an image of Martin that deviates drastically from the actual Martin, who was able to take Zimmerman to the ground, straddle him, and slam his head into the pavement at least 3 times.

Josef K, eat your heart out.

  1. Shermlaw says:

State v. Zimmerman is the state of our country in miniature. The result will tell us whether the people will stand up for the rule of law or whether they’ve been sufficiently cowed to allow all manner of tyrannies to continue. Most people realize that, even if they don’t wish to admit it.

  2. sdferr says:

The judge, Debra Nelson, has just rediscovered a spark of humanity within her compass and denied the charge of murder in child abuse. But to foot the depraved mind of George Zimmerman in 2nd degree murder remains a charge with her agreement.

  3. Pablo says:

Now that Nelson has shot down the murder 3/child abuse option, I can’t help but wonder if she’s forgotten which side she’s on.

  4. sdferr says:

In protest of the arrest and prosecution of George Zimmerman for 2nd degree murder, I invite anyone who chooses to walk a measured 375 feet under a timer in order to see how long that takes. Too bad, indeed, that the jurors were not permitted to travel to the site of the alleged crime to walk that distance for themselves, no?

  5. Ernst Schreiber says:

    0) a dumbass hooligan lowlife criminal thug brought his fists to a gunfight.

After that, you have 1 and 2 in the wrong order, since it was orchestrated grievance mongering by the race industry that switched on the national media spotlight in the first place.

  6. Silver Whistle says:

The judge, Debra Nelson, has just rediscovered a spark of humanity within her compass and denied the charge of murder in child abuse.

I think the prospect of removal from the bench focussed her mind most wonderfully. I will need persuading of this spark.

Imaginary sons and composite girlfriends run free in Utopia.

  8. sdferr says:

Just to be clear, I don’t believe you yourself need persuading with regard to the meaning of the spark SW, since you have it well in hand (in mind), but want some persuasion regarding J. Nelson’s possession of the same as I take it? In brief, I count any demonstration of reason, no matter how small or how limited in extent or in time as an indication of the distinguishing characteristic of human beings in full as such a spark, recognized and acted upon — this would be my invoked evidence in this case. Nelson saw the lie, so to speak, and called it so.

  9. geoffb says:

The case comes to national attention when it is misreported that a white shot a black boy in the back.

There was also very early in March 2012 an animated video, not the Taiwanese one, that was put out by the Crump & Parker gang that had Zimmerman chasing after and then shooting Trayvon, who had stopped and turned to ask “why are you following me?”, from a distance of 50 feet or so. I can no longer find it online. The video was used in a “news” story as if it was the true event.

  10. Ernst Schreiber says:

Y’know? That felony murder by child abuse ploy has got to be the prosecutorial equivalent of the proverbial parricide asking the court for mercy because he’s an orphan.

  11. leigh says:

De la Ronda is actually griping to the jury that Zimmerman didn’t try to resuscitate Martin.

Owing no doubt, to the fact that in his expert opinion –and that of his crack legal staff– the statute is indefensible as it runs afoul of Justice Kennedy.

Thus does the rancid stench of the oracular Kennedy’s most recent brain fart makes its noxious way from sea to shining sea.

She sure has had plenty of practice spotting stretchers.

  18. 4) “White” is expanded to include “White Hispanics,”

When I was in college during the ’80s the school paper reported on a meeting of the student council in which a black member was objecting to all the white council members (with names like Nguyen and Rashid) ganging up on her.

It has long been a thing with what were then called “pan-Africanists” (the dark-skinned KKK) that anyone in America not black was white — even if their skin were brown, “red” or “yellow.”

  19. Car in says:

I’m kinda confused, because I know Hispanics of all sorts of different hues. I need some sort of color chart in order to identify which belong to my tribe.

Is a whiny high pitched voice, such as dear Bernie State Prosecutor uses a dead give away to ordinary listeners? Well, maybe, but it is called pleading after all.

Somehow though, I’d lay money we never hear this tone from Mr. O’Mara. He’ll find another means of drama, leaving this pitiful effort to Bernie’s sole possession today.

  24. leigh says:

O’Mara is masterful. I expect him to demolish the prosecution’s case . I wish I could be assured that the jury will not convict.

Bernie isn’t even spinning a compelling story, plus he has implied that Zimmerman is a pervert at least three times.

When those efforts failed, the Nazi’s staged the Reichstag fire.

  35. The Reichstag Fire stratagem worked for the Nazis because if anything like it had ever been done before it was before mass media could turn the event into a meme. Now not only is it a meme but it’s a meme about faking an event for political gain.

Not that the Obamarrhoids wouldn’t try — they went the Potemkin Village route with #Occupy, though it only worked for a short while. Then again, smaller test runs of the Reichstag Fire stratagem have been used in nearly all of the mass shooting incidents (“TEA PARTY LUNATIC!!!!”) since the Unicorn Prince was anointed…

Related to issues of race, etc, a friend posted this and I thought it was an interesting a horrifying read.

    http://stlouis.craigslist.org/rnr/3902373798.html

    One quibble:

There is an unutterable secret among teachers: Almost all realize that blacks do not respond to traditional white instruction. Does that put the lie to environmentalism? Not at all. It is what brings about endless, pointless innovation that is supposed to bring blacks up to the white level. The solution is more diversity–or put more generally, the solution is change. Change is an almost holy word in education, and you can fail a million times as long as you keep changing. That is why liberals keep revamping the curriculum and the way it is taught. For example, teachers are told that blacks need hands-on instruction and more group work.

It isn’t “blacks” – it is black american society. Within the black culture – education doesn’t work. Obviously. Or fails at a spectacularly high rate.

One really interesting observation – obvious once mentioned –

There is a level of conformity among blacks that whites would find hard to believe. They like one kind of music: rap. They will vote for one political party: Democrat. They dance one way, speak one way, are loud the same way, and fail their exams in the same way. Of course, there are exceptions but they are rare.

Whites are different. Some like country music, others heavy metal, some prefer pop, and still others, God forbid, enjoy rap music. They have different associations, groups, almost ideologies. There are jocks, nerds, preppies, and hunters. Blacks are all — well — black, and they are quick to let other blacks know when they deviate from the norm.

It is an interesting, and depressing, read.

Oh, don’t say, Bernie State Prosecutor! Leave the poor jurors to think it through for themselves.

  54. newrouter says:

do they have show tunes at show trials?

  55. leigh says:

Man, Carin, that is one depressing essay. Mainly because it’s all too true.

  56. Squid says:

Per newrouter’s link: if SCOTUS has ruled that Catholics can be forced to pay for murder, does that mean that hiring hit men is now legal? Or is the “privilege” of murder-for-hire not applicable toward those who really have it coming?

  57. Car in says:

Leigh, it’s true, but it isn’t inevitable. If black race pimps wouldn’t find cause to celebrate whatever they find “authentically black”, and they could properly integrate into society.

ACTUAL integration is a wonderful thing. It doesn’t mean quotas, or what we’ve done since the 60’s. It means to adopt what is good about OTHER cultures and abandon what sucks about yours. It is what has happened every time one culture banged into another.

There are only two ways it ends when you have a clash of cultures such as this. History. Read it and weep.

  58. Squid, no, but not hiring a hit man may be a taxable event.

  59. bgbear says:

Yes, depressing essay. I would just add it is true of too many urban schools and the black American culture that exists there.

It is mostly culture, not genes.

Maybe Blacks are a little less intelligent on average but, so what? Asians are probably a little more intelligent than whites but, who has had more advancements in science and engineering? Asians often build on European and American discoveries (when they do innovate, they are often Asians living in the West). There is more to it than IQ points.

  60. sdferr says:

Will Mark O’Mara tell an untruth in summation tomorrow, a lie?

If we grant that O’Mara too may lie (by omission), I can think so. For O’Mara will not say, I warrant, that Trayvon Martin was seeking to beat the creepy assed cracka’s head in as a function of Trayvon’s own inculcated racial animus, taught to him by his parents, his compeers, his schools, his every milieu of life and living. Whitey, the nigga, is out to get him and his, thinks Trayvon, to take from Trayvon his very humanity — and for this, the creepy assed cracka deserves to have his beatdown. Justice should be served.

    It sure ain’t Trayvon’s fault.

  61. leigh says:

O’Mara just needs to remind the jury that if Trayvon had indeed just been on his way home and had done just that, none of this would have happened and they could be enjoying their summer.

  62. People would be amazed the trouble I managed not to get into, just by minding my own business and going where I meant to go.

  66. I never said I didn’t think they’d try. My original comment on the subject included the words “Not that [they] wouldn’t try.”

Why is it instructive that I’m arguing what I said from the start?

  67. Benedick says:

“I should write a book, except people who need to learn such secrets tend not to be readers.”

Certainly not if it’s written in cursive.

  68. Blake says:

McGehee, crap, I didn’t mean to say or imply that you never thought the Obama administration wouldn’t try their own version of a Rechstag Fire. Rather, what I meant (I’m starting to think all I’m doing is digging) or was trying to say is that most people would argue against the premise.

Granted, I know you’re not most people. (so, going to help me out of the hole or point and laugh?)

So, how about that Hernandez character.?The Patriots can sure pick them, huh?

  69. geoffb says:

I still maintain that if Trayvon had not been on the phone with Rachel he might not have gone out to confront and attack Zimmerman. At the very least the confrontation would not have been a sucker punch to the nose but stayed verbal.

His 17 year old self couldn’t deal with having someone, a woman he knew, know he ran home to get away from a “creepy ass cracker.” He “had” to confront and beat down Zimmerman to not damage his street cred with others and his own self image.

  70. Pablo says:

“We had grown up in a state and environment where race is a way of life….We’re not from Sanford, but what Sanford represented to us was the very real problems going around this state and this country. We wanted to figure out how could we stand in solidarity, and how could we make this about not just justice for Trayvon, but using this moment and using the opportunity to honor his memory, to honor his spirit by working to bring down the various structures and the various systems that allow something like this to happen.”

I would dearly love to hear the details of all that twaddle.

*i.e. the First Amendment per the Supreme Court, protects religious belief, not action.

  76. geoffb says:

I would dearly love to hear the details of all that twaddle.

There is a piece from one month ago at MSNBC about the regional director for the CRS, Thomas Battles.

Being MSNBC they have this on the 2nd page.

In the aftermath of the shooting, hurt feelings over a string of past incidents have bubbled up, rekindling distrust over the way police and courts have handled such cases.

In 2011, then-police chief Brian Tooley was forced from office following a scandal involving a lieutenant’s son who was captured on video attacking a homeless black man. Police officers questioned the officer’s son but did not arrest him for several weeks and only then after a video recording of the attack went viral.

    Glossing over this completely.

Zimmerman first surfaced publicly in Sanford, Florida, in a case involving a homeless man. As it happened, in December 2010, a police lieutenant’s son named Justin Collison sucker-punched a black homeless man named Sherman Ware outside a Sanford bar, with seeming impunity.

Although Ware suffered a concussion, and there was video evidence of Collison’s action, no action was taken against Collison for nearly a month. Upset at the lack of media attention, Zimmerman and his wife Shellie printed fliers demanding that the community “hold accountable” officers responsible for any misconduct.

They then drove the fliers around to area churches and passed them out on a Sunday morning. Later, at a public meeting in January 2011, Zimmerman took the floor and said, “I would just like to state that the law is written in black and white. It should not and cannot be enforced in the gray for those that are in the thin blue line.”

This meeting was recorded on video. As a result of the publicity, Police Chief Brian Tooley, whom Zimmerman blasted for his “illegal cover-up and corruption,” was forced to resign.

  77. geoffb says:

but using this moment and using the opportunity to honor his memory, to honor his spirit by working to bring down the various structures and the various systems that allow something like this to happen.” –

Honor his spirit? Huh. That would involve smoking dope, sending twit-pics of handguns, and petty theft.

  79. serr8d says:

An overarching theme of Trayvon Martin ‘supporters’ is that he was a child. This child was stalked and killed by evil child-stalking gunman George Zimmerman.

Who is responsible for a child‘s welfare? Who is supposed to keep a child from absorbing and joining a street culture that promotes thug life? If Trayvon was a child (and he was still, legally, a minor) the responsible parties who failed him first were his parents. Those same self-aggrandizing sops who ignored his welfare for their own, and now seek to cover their own failings by shifting blame to George Zimmerman.

Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, failed parents, share as much responsibility for Travyvon Martin’s behavior (the drug use, the fighting that got him kicked out of school, the thug behavior pattern that got him killed) as George Zimmerman. They failed to properly raise and nurture their child.

  80. Car in says:

To lay blame on them, serr8d, for who he was at the time of his death would mean you expect them to be good, attentive parents.

Which is obviously beyond the pale.

  81. Ernst Schreiber says:

Jesus serr8d, the parents here are victims. You can’t go about treating them like white hispanics.

They failed to properly raise and nurture their child.

They were just keeping it real. You have no business criticizing their culture when you can’t even understand it! Raaaaacist!

  86. leigh says:

“If it hasn’t been proven, it’s not just there,” O’Mara said. “You can’t fill in the gaps. You can’t connect the dots. You’re not allowed to.”

  87. Car in says:

They were just keeping it real. You have no business criticizing their culture when you can’t even understand it!

Right. AA parents are different culturally, and judging them by white standards is rasssist. Reminds me when I read this in that essay I linked:

One of the most immediately striking things about my students was that they were loud. They had little conception of ordinary decorum. It was not unusual for five blacks to be screaming at me at once. Instead of calming down and waiting for a lull in the din to make their point — something that occurs to even the dimmest white students — blacks just tried to yell over each other.

It did no good to try to quiet them, and white women were particularly inept at trying. I sat in on one woman’s class as she begged the children to pipe down. They just yelled louder so their voices would carry over hers.

Many of my black students would repeat themselves over and over again — just louder. It was as if they suffered from Tourette syndrome. They seemed to have no conception of waiting for an appropriate time to say something. They would get ideas in their heads and simply had to shout them out. I might be leading a discussion on government and suddenly be interrupted: “We gotta get more Democrats! Clinton, she good!” The student may seem content with that outburst but two minutes later, he would suddenly start yelling again: “Clinton good!”

Years ago, I was reading some pro-teacher, John Dewey education pap that teachers had to teach black children differently, because being LOUDER was their way. Part of their culture. They yell, jump up and down, etc, so teachers had to find a way to accommodate their “ways” into a new teaching method.

Yea. Got it. They cannot be expected to LISTEN or talk/discuss things in a white way. It’s a black thing.

    I denounce myself.

  88. leigh says:

That’s such nonsense, Carin. Not you, the idea that blacks are loud and incapable of being disciplined. I found the white trash kids I lived around in Pittsburgh to be just as bad. We lived in a mixed race neighborhood and there were several white kids who were just as obnoxious as the black kids. Swearing, yelling all the time, no manners at all and, they stole. I forbade them to come in the house. I’ve found this to be more of a class thing than a race thing. The problem is the almost total immersion that most lesser educated and less affluent people have with persons who behave like thugs, do not value education and are impressed with unearned wealth. I’m sure you ran into this attitude a lot in Detroit.

Conversely, my middle son’s best friend was a black child whose parents*, while of modest means, were big on discipline and manners. His favorite teacher to this day was a black woman who took no nonsense from any of the kids and was every child’s favorite teacher, presumably because they knew that she would take no shit from them or excuses from their families. Unfortunately, even though my son and some others were part of a terrific enrichment program that the Pittsburgh public schools offers, the environment at the school itself became too unsafe for me to feel comfortable with him attending the school after the third grade. We withdrew him and enrolled him in our parish school. He still saw his friend at baseball practice and games, cub scouts and the like until his family moved away.

We have loads of trashy white kids here in OK who could be interchangeable with the black kids in that essay.

    We’re doomed.

*Note: mom and dad were together and married!

  89. Car in says:

That is the problem, and the fallacy of identifying something as a “cultural” trait. Saying it’s a “black” thing, and we just need to understand their culture and work around it.

What would be the response if this behavior were merely identified as being rude? Being rude is a black thing?

I don’t think there is anything inherently cultural about the behavior – it’s just FLAT out bad behavior, that’s reinforced by society that identifies it as authentic.

It’s nothing more than a rejection of Western decorum, to the nth degree.

  90. leigh says:

    Exactly.

  91. Squid says:

It’s enough to make you wonder whether paying ignorant uninvolved uneducated high school dropouts to produce more ignorant uninvolved uneducated high school dropouts who will produce even yet still more ignorant uninvolved uneducated high school dropouts was really such a good public policy. Regardless of relative surface pigmentation levels.

(By the way: when I argue about appeals to personal liberty and dignity having resonance with most Americans, this segment is one I’m willing to write off.)

  92. Car in says:

The problem with writing “them” off is that they are capturing more and more people within their snare. Thug life, you know how we do, yo.

I think the problem may be on display when the Zimmerman verdict is read. You ignore that at your own peril.

  93. Squid says:

Okay then, how would you reach out and convince the O!Phone brigade that having six kids by five daddies and “raising” them to skip school and blow their hardworking, responsible, patriotic crooked, privileged, undeserving neighbors’ money on sneakers and smart phones is no way to live?

  94. Ernst Schreiber says:

Short of removing the perverse incentive structure? I don’t think you can.

  95. The same drives that make it possible to domesticate animals also exist in Man. As long as there are those who wish to turn people into livestock, people will become livestock.

  96. bgbear says:

I suppose if some people want to be subjects and be ruled that is their choice, I just wish they would not drag the rest of us in with them. Can’t we just give them their own state or something?

  97. Squid says:

As long as there are those who wish to turn people into livestock, people will become livestock.

I wouldn’t have a problem with that, if it were only a matter of those involved. The problem is that the “ranchers” are picking my pocket to buy cattle feed, and they continually let their herd wander loose through my neighborhood to fuck up my property and my peace of mind.

  98. geoffb says:

The CRS and Thomas Battles are no doubt up to their necks organizing the organizers of this new POS.

  99. Ernst Schreiber says:

Rush mentioned this Daniel J. Flynn piece over at the Spectator’s blog today. I agree with the overall sentiment, “[c]ivilizing men out of existence has come at great cost to civilization[,]” if not his rather uncharitable description of Zimmerman’s girly-manness.

I imagine if Mr. Flynn ever found himself on the pavement with a young barbarian on top of his chest pounding away, he might just make some rather unmanly sounds of his own.

  100. leigh says:

Kudos to Geraldo or the Stopped Clock Award, anyway.

Geraldo says those six women on the jury would have dropped Trayvon sooner than Zimmerman did and called it self-defense.

  101. Squid, that’s what happens when people become livestock. There’s no avoiding it.

The only solution is to deal with the ranchers as vermin, lest they treat us all as livestock.

    Oh. Wait.

  102. geoffb says:

    Rancher, the model.

  103. newrouter says:

    a baracky/holder trifecta

  104. leigh says:

Why is the fact that the jurors are primarily white even an issue? It’s supposed to be a jury of Zimmerman’s peers, after all, not Martin’s.
