“Civility comes from the top” [Darleen Click]

  1. sdferr says:

Civility is the State of Florida portraying a neighborhood watch captain as a vicious racist murderer where there is no evidence to that effect of any sort anywhere. I.e., civility is lynching for the purpose of maintaining a racialist power dynamic.

  2. sdferr says:

Civility is the prosecutors acting for the State of Florida bringing a witness to the stand (Ms. Dorival) who vouches lovingly for the fundamental decency and humanity of the vicious racist murderer portrayed by the State (and of which it has no evidence of whatsoever, from anywhere).

    Oops.

Civility is stopping the State before it suicides its case again — but rest easy, the Judge will do what she can to save the prosecution’s fiction, for the children.

I normally agree with Mr. Whittle but armed agents of the state get no slack from me. The cop who decided to exercise his discretion because Bill was obsequious and deferential is immune from the accountability that the restaurant manager demanded of himself. Just try to hold your local police department accountable for the casual disrespect they have for the public.

Most cops routinely break the law and those who don’t stand silently while their buddies in blue do so. When was the last time you saw a cop observing traffic or parking laws?

Ever notice how cops think that it’s a perk to take care of personal business while on duty? The other day I saw a state trooper pull his cruiser into a Rite Aid just to buy some flip flops.

I’ve had police tell me casually that they like to ask people why they were stopped to see if they can get them for something other than what they were planning to get them for, if anything.

So go ahead and admit your guilt. Anything you say will be used against you.

  5. “Do you know why I stopped you?”

    “You were bored?”

Usually when they let you off on a lesser they are at maximum revenue for their jurisdiction (thanks to speed trap control laws) and any fines they bring in will be stripped to the county and state so they and their supervisors don’t much care. And they need to do SOMETHING to explain to their camera or sometimes their partner that you can’t see why they pulled you over in the first place. And once they pull a ticket from the book they have to write something or be penalized though they have a few freebies. Their supervisor will want to know why there is a skip in their issued ticket numbers if one turns up.
