Reportedly, the GOP establishment is not at all happy with Ms Palin’s hyperbolic rhetoric

I can’t be the only one who finds it ironic that RINOs with mushpits for souls simultaneously dismiss and denigrate conservatives while working feverishly to usurp and co-opt the “conservative” label for themselves.

X

What could have been. But, you know, what would our liberal friends say were we to suggest Palin is anything more than a deluded, self-serving populist snowbilly? I mean, as it stands, we may disagree politically with the liberal opinion shapers, but there’s no denying their educated pedigree.

It simply isn’t done. We’re some of the good ones, you see. Which means we’ll get to be eaten last.

  1. What do our liberal friends ever say that any sane conservative would listen to?

  2. Libby says:

This is one of the reasons I think Palin is great – she’s just as happy battling RINOS (as she did in her own state) as she is battling the Left. It’s not by accident that she was such a strong supporter of Ted Cruz.

  3. mondamay says:

While I may not always agree with her methods/judgement, she has accomplished more than anyone else.

It’s just a shame she (apparently) drives certain right-leaning female polemicists to jealous madness.

  4. McGehee, I find Mickey Kaus to be an honest liberal worth reading. But he is the exception that proves the rule.

  5. Gulermo says:

“Which means we’ll get to be eaten last.”

Has to be said; Eaten is eaten, whatever the order du entree.

  6. The words “honest” and “liberal” are incompatible. I would say that Kaus is an honest man with a slight tendency to flawed reasoning.

  7. Ernst Schreiber says:

Credentialed isn’t educated necessarily, anymore than book smart is intelligent. So my advice would be to tell our liberals friends don’tt be pissing down our backs and telling us it’s raining –and that they aren’t our friends.

  8. Ernst Schreiber says:

    They call them “liberaltarians” sometimes.

  9. Ernst Schreiber says:

also, edit my 1:41 to read “and that they aren’t liberal and they sure as hell aren’t our friends.

  10. Spiny Norman says:

I’ve always thought Sam Nunn fits in that category. Interestingly, many of Obumble’s supporters were vigorously promoting Nunn for Veep, but he went with the Guaranteed Impeachment Insurance™ of Slow Joe. Did Barry feel threatened by Nunn’s (now obviously) superior intellect?

  11. Ernst Schreiber says:

More likely Nunn didn’t want anything to do with Obama.

Same thing they’ve been saying for the last 5 years. Fuck ’em.

Sarah Palin may be a $3 Cabernet but, she is authentic and people think she tastes good. It is the wine experts that are the opportunistic phonies.

  16. Libby says:

Palin is fearless, willing to say things that establishment Republicans wouldn’t dare say in polite company.
She also has a knack for distilling complex issues into understandable concepts, such as capturing the essence of Obamacare – government-controlled health decisions + rationing – into a single phrase: Death Panels.

  17. cranky-d says:

We sure dodged a bullet when we let them get rid of Palin.

    You betcha.

You mean like how we’re about to dodge another bullet by letting them help us to “solve” our hispanic problem with comprehensive immigration reform, right cranky?

  19. Danger says:

    “What could have been”

What about what could still be Mr!
Lets knock off all this talk of being the hunted/eaten (first last or otherwise) when hunting is OUR TURF!

  20. cranky-d says:

Exactly, Ernst. We all know Hispanics are natural conservatives. The media tell us so.

Sorry. “Science” tells me I still have a handful of years before I “mature” (being an inferior male and all). I intend to make the most of it.

I’m all for backing Palin to the hilt, though. There are worse things than being genuine, pretty, and right. She obviously scares the Republican leadership as much as the Democrats, and for even more reason: without help from the media to caricature and distort her, she could take the party away from them like Reagan did.

    – Take away the free shit list and the whole cult movement would be yesterdays news.

    – I hope Palin uses this choice timing to stick it as deep and hard as she can to the GOP Rino club.

Well, since they’re already on display in the Unicorn Prince’s trophy room, I’d say that ship has sailed, TW.

  32. Spiny Norman says:

    geoffb,

    From your link:

Coy Tolonen, who lives in an unincorporated area of the county stated “We’re starting a new group…We don’t feel neighborhood watch is sufficient, and we don’t feel the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is sufficient.” They’re posting fliers that read “This is a Glock block. We don’t call 911.” Of course, the authorities “have cautioned against vigilantism.”

    Ha!

  33. cranky-d says:

In the beginning, everyone helped to enforce laws, because there wasn’t even the notion of a police force in existence. Then a police force was created, presumably to help enforce the laws so the average citizen wouldn’t have to. Now the average citizen isn’t allowed to.

    Meh.
