Thoughts that should keep you awake at night, 6

If John Boehner knew about the Benghazi emails in March and yet was still refusing to call for a special committee with subpoena power to investigate what it turns out were the murders of American heroes, left alone on a rooftop to die, that our government could potentially have prevented — against the protests of many in his own caucus, most notably Rep Frank Wolf — he is 1) either far too cowardly to remain Speaker, 2) a Democrat, or 3) featured in a series of photos in which he’s  naked save for a pointy party hat and doing upside down margaritas with the stars of a Tijuana donkey show.

And Rep Issa, who has noted his investigation is not targeting either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, was right there beside him wearing a teenage girl on his face.

While Hillary Clinton has stated publicly that she was not involved in that editing process, criticism of the former State Department chief and much-discussed possible presidential candidate has been a strong subtext of the Benghazi debate.

If by “strong subtext” they intend a line pushed by the Democrat Apparat, then yes, certainly.

  2. The normal snarky answer to a multiple-choice question such as that offered in the post, is “all of the above” — but answer #1, cowardice, is sufficient to explain Weepy’s conduct even if the other two weren’t true.

Cowardice in the face of what? Which danger is he unwilling to face?

They* always make sure they get dirt on people, especially the higher-ups. Then they use that leverage to (a) assure them that as long as they play ball, they can rise in the ranks, where they can do lots and lots of good (b) ensure they don’t upset the apple cart.

*Who’s “they”? Does it matter? I’m willing to believe that there are GOP and Dems included in “they,” as well as any number of trans-national actors ::cough::soros::cough::mb::cough::

And Rep Issa, who has noted his investigation is not targeting either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama…

I never thought I’d agree with DiFi, but when she observes that it’s hard to believe that Clinton isn’t a target after her name came up 30+ times in the course of the proceedings, I gotta say she just might have found a nugget of truth. I think Issa’s statement is trying to set the narrative that he’s just looking for the truth, to counter the Dem narrative that he’s a partisan attack dog with an axe to grind. If his search for truth happens to implicate the highest levels of State and the White House, well, that’s just a side effect.

At least, that’s what I took from the Dave Greg interview. If there’s other evidence of Issa protecting the Chicago mob, I’ll admit my error.

What was that for a Press Conference?

One questioner from each, the American and British media? And that’s it?

Have the chickens come home to roost already?

President Obama delivered a defiant defense of his administration’s response to the Benghazi terror attack, calling the revived controversy over the matter a “sideshow.”

The president addressed the issue Monday during a press conference alongside British Prime Minister David Cameron, who is in Washington this week. Obama denied any suggestion that there was a cover-up, questioning recent reports that showed a State Department official trying to water down the administration’s initial story-line on what happened the night of Sept. 11.

“There’s no there there,” Obama said

A “defiant defense” is challenging the Press Corps to truthfully call him a liar to his face. That’s all.

  7. Cowardice in the face of what? Which danger is he unwilling to face?

The same danger that acquitted Bill Clinton in his impeachment trial; the same danger that prevented John Roberts from overturning ObamaCare.

    Responsibility.
