From FOXNews:
A Pakistani intelligence official said Wednesday that authorities had arrested an “important” suspect in the London bombings, while police in London removed a shattered carriage from a subway station, signaling a shift in the investigation’s underground forensic work.
“We have an important man in our custody,” a senior Pakistani intelligence official told The Associated Press. “I am not in a position to disclose his name right now, but the maximum that I can tell you is that he has some direct links with the London attacks.”
Speaking in the eastern city of Lahore, the official declined to say when the man was arrested or elaborate on his alleged links with the London bombings. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media and because of the secretive nature of his job.

Pakistani police earlier reported arresting seven people with links to the bombings.
Prime Minister Tony Blair said Wednesday he was considering calling an international conference on how to root out Islamic extremism, particularly in religious schools, known as madrassas.
Well, allow me to save you the trouble, Tony: make cracking down on the schools a condition of normalizing diplomatic relations. And try getting a handle on your country’s oft-quoted leftist blowhards like Galloway and Livingstone who insist on letting jihadists off the hook by providing them with a steady stream of excuses for blowing up civilians on buses and trains.
Meanwhile, it’s good to see the Brits taking steps that could reverse the damage done by years of “multiculturalism” as a defining philosophy of British public policy. From the Telegraph:
Charles Clarke, Home Secretary, has outlined his plan to introduce three new anti-terrorist offences including indirect incitement to terrorism […]
[…] The first new proposed offence will make the preparation of terrorism in its very early stages illegal.
The second will involve indirect incitement to terrorism. Direct incitement is already an offence, but the new legislation will also include those who incite others to take terrorist acts.
The third will involve giving and receiving terrorist training.
A full database on people who have demonstrated “unacceptable behaviour” will be compiled and include those who preach intolerance, or run websites or write articles encouraging the kind of extremism likely to encourage terrorists.
Information will be gathered from around the world to help determine whether people should be deported or excluded from the country. Agreements have been signed to make deportation easier.
David Davis, the shadow home secretary, while praising the “measured and calm” approach taken by the Government during the past two weeks, went further and called for imams to be trained in this country so they are aware of the culture they work in.
Perhaps it’s time for the US to begin considering similar measures. Or would doing so be too, y’know, preemptive…?
The Brits are profiling as well.
We should certainly model many of the things they are doing – why wait to develop the political will until after the death cult takes out a city?
Why? Because it’s the American way, MC.
Indirectly inciting? How about taking a crack at those fellows who are directly inciting first? Or do the Brits consider saying something to the effect of “Kill the kufir and declare a Sharia state in Britain” to be “indirect” incitement? Feh.
“Perhaps it’s time for the US to begin considering similar measures.”
Nah, they’re just doing jobs Americans don’t want to do.
Oops, wrong talking point…
It’s only a tiny minority.
And they haven’t killed too many people here yetwe’re not even into double digits!

I think the Democrats in this country should be trained to be aware of the culture they work in.
