Former-star Jim Carrey equates guns owners to hicks, guns to dicks

This whole thing being somewhat ironic because, to most gun owners, guns are merely tools; whereas to most gun owners, Jim Carrey is both a tool and a dick. Synchronicity!

Somebody really ought to find Alanis Morissette. There’s a song in this somewhere — and it almost certainly has to be better than the one Carrey come up with, filled as it is with sad, forced references, truly dated dogma, and caricaturish typecasting of the kind that — again, ironically — keeps Jim Carrey himself largely irrelevant, save for when he agrees to screw up his face or pretend his asshole is actually a working mouth.

Honestly? It’s almost as if he’s parodying a parody of some anti-gun comedian’s parody of a pro-gun rights group’s parody of anti-gun liberals. As if that last can even be parodied at this point.

It rings not only false, but somehow…desperate.

    Funny or Die?

His funny died when “In Living Color” did.

The ghost of humor past is here trying to resurrect a career by pouring the blood of dead kids its grave.

Bad move “Fire Marshall Bill,” toast again.

That was a Hickenlooper big enough to break most any U-bend.

I think that someone had made the rather cogent case that Carey is probably indirectly responsible for the deaths of more children as a result of his anti-vaccination advocacy than guns are.

Can’t wait until someone asks him about that . . .

Just made this point over in another thread:

Carrey takes a cheap shot at Charlton Heston by singing “Charlton Heston movies are no longer in demand…”

Based on the box office performance of the last half dozen bowel movements he laughingly calls “films”, it’s pretty clear that Jim Carrey movies are no longer in demand either.

At least Charlton Heston can claim the excuse that he’s dead.

  6. beemoe says:

He was trying to offend and ridicule me and instead I wound up actually feeling kind of sorry for him while I watched that.

Pathetic, I think is the word I am looking for.

  7. Ernst Schreiber says:

Charleton Heston’s not dead. He’s on DVD and Blue-Ray.

isn’t coming to American, getting filthy rich, and then trashing the culture getting a little old?

    i’m not clicking

the only jim carrey movie i ever seen is the batman one we walked out of

and then i think i saw the last few minutes of the truman show one time

that’s all I can think of

Mr. “anti-gun” Carrey is in the “Kick-Ass” sequel. If you’ve seen the original Kick-Ass, you know just how unbelievably violent it is (using guns and other weapons), and that it stars a murderous tween girl who spouts really foul language (like c*nt).

Spare me the “get rid of icky guns” talk “for the sake of children”, dude, when you’re profiting from degrading and corrupting our children.

  11. happyfeet says:

    i liked kick-ass

but i didn’t think it needed a sequel

White House: Paul Filibuster on 2nd Amendment Rights Would Disrespect Gun-Violence Victims

Indeed. I’ll bet the heartless bastard stands up and goes on for several hours about how awful gun-violence victims are, and how we have too many of them in the country already, and he hopes that America has a lot fewer of them in the future.

WHY DO YOU HATE THE VICTIMS, SENATOR? WHY DON’T YOU SUPPORT THEM, AND THE PRESIDENT’S PLAN TO CREATE MORE AND MORE OF THEM?

Fucker hates unemployed people the same way. I don’t know how he lives with himself.

    Jeff is a jackass-juxtaposin’ genius!

I know we think we’re pointing out the asininity of Carrey for his stupid vacuous video, but aren’t we also promoting him as well every time we show some of his stuff? The whole point of not watching these idiotic Hollywood liberals’ movies is lost, don’t you think?

That sounds like Tim and Eric stoner ex film student territory (tongue in cheek ironic satire of incompetent irony) though I’m sure they’d throw in some uncomfortable quasi-pedophilia gag and make it look even more ’15 year old Access Television project’ than Carrey did.

But what do I know. I still laugh at Ray Stevens and Benny Hill stuff.

The really sharp pissy stuff like Wondershowzen still makes me frown and shake my head. (No, a born again Christian muppet telling a fat kid ” Well, that’s too bad because Jesus says you’re going to hell motherf*cker!” in a bleeped pseudo-Elmo voice doesn’t make me think bad things about Christians but the people trying to pass that off as ALL Christians, or even most.)

I prefer humor that you don’t have to have four sticks up your ass just to understand. I am ashamed of the cynical twisted sticks culture has jammed up my psychic ass over the decades not proud of them.

This clever irony layers style of humor isn’t evidence of an evolving consciousness. This is evidence of wear and tear and degradation of reason, and an increase in the acceptable threshold of depravity. This is us sounding more and more like crazy ass holes who hear voices and read what was never written with greater authority than what WAS written and clearly. This is us as a people, squinting until reality goes away and we end up wanting revenge on others for things we did to ourselves because that feels way better than acknowledging what really happened.

Shit, not shot. Shit you fascist spell check shit stick…

Can’t say I’ve ever seen anything Jim Carrey did and don’t have any desire to start with this. Oh, I’ve seen a few trailers and they convinced me that I’ve made the right decision.

Jim Carrey is parodying “Hee-Haw”, which was itself a parody.

I suspect the good Senator could spend several hours answering that question.
