Palin takes CPAC by storm. Again.

Talk of her demise has been greatly exaggerated, I’d say. In fact, with 7 standing ovations, she even edged out the number of standing ovations Karl Rove received — though Rove’s came not at CPAC, but largely from liberal outlets. And Mike Castle.

Jeb and the Bush parents offered Karl a very dignified golf clap, but that doesn’t really count.

It’s funny, really, that there are many top “conservative” sites and opinion outlets that wish Palin fatally gored by a rutting bull elk. Thereby taking all her stupid advocating for primary challenges to incumbents with no fidelity either to the Constitution or their own constituencies with her to her icy, snowbilly grave.

National politics requires nuance, you see. And Sarah Palin is just, well, culty. Naive. A “purist” and a “true believer.” And therefore unhelpful to getting annointed Republicans elected so that they can govern just like leftwing Democrats, thereby guaranteeing that the party appeals to “moderates” and a number of the identity groups they’re desperate to win over by aping leftwing pander tactics.

— Which is what we should all be striving for, here in the Republican big tent. Because GO TEAM!

Palin needs to eat a sandwich. Or two.

  4. happyfeet says:

the big gulp was never even part of the ban we’ve been over this before here

  5. Darleen says:

    beemoe

Obviously a Big Gulp aint making Sarah look anything like “Let’s Move” Michelle.

  6. happyfeet says:

and besides Sarah is way more of a route 44 chick I think

When the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence went underground as a subcultural political philosophy, it’s no wonder people who would adhere to them would also. Apparent political dominance, whether fashioned by mass marketers like Roger Ailes and Karl Rove, or David Axelrod and David Plouffe, or even happyfeet, needn’t be subjected to tests of truth, since appearance alone is sufficient for those purposes: whereas national prosperity, or its contrapositive, national decay, will finally be understood regardless of fashion.

  8. cranky-d says:

While I’m not comparing the two in any way, note that the GOP stalwarts, including Romney and Rove, did not like Reagan either. They don’t like anyone who can hurt their statist machine.

  9. palaeomerus says:

The GOP calls itself smart and in search of rebranding but the truth is that it wants mushroom voters who will sit quietly in the dark and eat whatever shit they are given until harvest day. How dare the voters want things or babble about punishing their congressman or governor for making hard decisions (that screw their constituents over) ? How dare they take what is rightfully Dewhurst’s and give it to a creep like Cruz ?

  10. happyfeet says:

    we can be happy underground

  11. sdferr says:

    Epicurus said as much.

  12. sdferr says:

Good to see (and perfectly unsurprising at that) that Reince Priebus is onboard the “ephemera R us” campaign.

  13. palaeomerus says:

When you got beat by ‘binders full of women’ and ‘youtube movie caused middle east blow up’ then you were never smart or moderate. What you were was stupid and timid and weak. ALL ALONG.

  14. LBascom says:

That was an awesome speech. Big Gulp blunders and BMI issues aside,,,

  15. Gayle says:

A comment over at Huffpo: “Sarah Palin makes liberals behave like high-school girls.”

    Heh heh.

  16. cranky-d says:

As a referent to Nanny Bloomberg, the Big Gulp thing was not a blunder.

  17. LBascom says:

I know cranky, that was me being sarcastic.

Some people just don’t get symbolism.

  18. happyfeet says:

    i think maybe I was doing a sarcasm too I can’t remember

  19. cranky-d says:

I’m getting old, so I don’t pick up on this stuff as well any more.

Really? Looked more like dodging the point to me.

I didn’t get the route 44 thing either. Sarcasm?

  21. happyfeet says:

route 44s would have been covered under the Bloomberg Doctrine cause of they come from a restaurant the Palin family truckster stops at often in their endless quest for clean wholesome wallyworld fun

  22. happyfeet says:

wait that might could be the Duggar family truckster

it all starting to run together

  23. Spiny Norman says:

That image is a keeper, Darleen. Effin’ brilliant.

    Tree ’em, Sarah.

  25. Blake says:

Palin took her shots at Karl Rove, rightly so.

What interests me is why the people with money would continue to throw money at Rove when, obviously, Sarah Palin has a much better track record when it comes to picking winners.

What was Rove’s percentage last election? 15% of his candidates won whereas Palin was something like 65%?

Also, it seems like Palin is developing a network of people inside Washington that are not beholden to the current power structure.

Don’t blame the Karl! It was the candidates that lost! Also the Rovester just advised the most conservative candidate that could win, and if they didn’t win it was because of the stupid TEA Party that didn’t understand the way Washington works, and who could win.

‘Cuz of the Hobbity Visogoth wakoness.

You hairy footed purists just don’t get #winning.

  27. LBascom says:

And I’m still not getting the route 44 thing.

    I blame myself. And Bush.

  28. happyfeet says:

here is a tutorial mr. lee

  29. Blake says:

lbascom, if you still have my email address, please drop me a line. For some reason, I keep losing your email address. Probably because of Bush. Or stupidity.

Anyway, Rove can’t run on his record, so, he has to rundown Palin. What does it say when Relevant Rove has to respond to Irrelevant Palin?

We can only hope Palin runs Rove out of Washington and the GOP.

  30. LBascom says:

Hi Blake, I lost your email addy when I dumped Hughesnet. I’m at the mail with the g now, and a .com. It’s mrllbascom, etc.

The wife and I were hoping to get down to this place, and I was thinking of you guys, but we’re in the middle of moving right now so it may be a couple of months.

What’s up? Shoot me an email…

  31. Blake says:

    Done.

By the way, I’m a member of the pistol club at that particular location, so, providing the club has nothing going on, I can get you in for a little shoot and move practice, if you’re interested.

  32. LBascom says:

Cool, cool. Just got a couple of speed loaders for the .357 yesterday, I’ll need some practice.

I’m interested in shooting some clays too. It’s been awhile, and shotgun shells are about all that’s left to buy out there so I don’t feel nervous shooting up the stock.

We’ll try and make it down before it gets ridiculous hot. Looking forward to it…

  33. SDN says:

You’d think with that vice-presidential endorsement thing shotgun shells would be harder to find. Why won’t those hobbits listen to Sharkey Biden?
