“EXCLUSIVE: DHS Plans Backdoor Gun Registration? *UPDATES”

From Dana Loesch, interviewing MO Lt. Governor Peter Kinder, who was able to obtain a TRO to stop the fees office over privacy concerns.

The takeaway here is that the progressives are running the entirety of their anti-2nd Amendment playbook, using all their tools simultaneously to attack on multiple fronts.

We must remain vigilant.

And — in the case of my own state, Colorado — be prepared to resist the empowerment of criminals and government functionaries that come about as a result of the weakening of the natural rights of Colorado citizens who have not committed gun crimes, and who have been trained in the proper care and usage of firearms.

I’d be very interested to see if a college campus ban on a private university withstands a lawsuit from some CCW student with standing.

I’m not a lawyer, but can’t a private institution tell you to basically “Leave your guns at the door.”? Now, a public college – seems like they would have no right to ban CC.

Scott, yes, they can. But the law here is making what was previously allowed no longer allowed. And if that’s in a private university, I’m interested how the government can tell a private university that it must disarm its students.

Most (but certainly not all) private universities get a ton of government funding.

Wasn’t that the rationale for making (e.g.) Catholic hospitals pay for birth control?

I’m a bit torn about this. The students should be allowed to carry on campus. Period.

However, if it is determined that they are disallowed from doing so and continue to do so in the name of their own safety (which I did in grad school and just kept that little tidbit to myself), they are committing a felony if they are caught, charged and prosecuted.

I don’t like giving government control over schools, so you can imagine.

Ah – I missed that – that the proposed law(s) would outlaw CC at a private college. Just seems like one more case of the government telling us of something that we can or can’t do in an area they just don’t have any business being involved in.

Only if they can put the sign up next to one saying “No n*ggers allowed.” Since 1965, no private business open to the public has been allowed to deny the civil rights of a group by refusing them access.
