They also assert that the restroom restrictions, imposed by the Fountain-Fort Carson School District, violate Colorado’s Anti-Discrimination Act, which prohibits schools from denying people access to a public accommodation because of their sexual orientation or transgender status.
Transgender is a fraud. Not to say there isn’t a very tiny minority of transexuals, individuals who really make the permanent choice to be the sex opposite of their bio-sex. However, the whole [sad] transgender paradigm is little more than a Left-fueled political movement exploiting people who have psychological issues.
Just remember, kids — if you’re one of the handful of people who think you should have been born with a different set of plumbing, you’re a valued and protected member of our society, and we should bend over backwards to accommodate you.
But if you’re one of the tens of millions of people who think you should have been born with certain inalienable rights, well, you’re just a hatey racist teabagger who should shut up right now.
So, “Silence of the Lambs” is a hate film. Because Jame Gumb wasn’t really a transsexual, but he thought he was and he tried to be.
I’m feeling punished by lefties for my Catholic Christian faith, my classical liberal beliefs and my refusal to value feelings over facts.
I think this makes me part of a protected class. I should get preferential treatment and large government checks. I should also get better cuts of meat for the same price that everyone else pays, because it’s only fair.

I wish the kid well in his quest to choose his gender, but I resent his parents insisting that the rest of the world accommodate him. I’d also suggest that they stop taking him/her on TV shows if they’re that concerned about bullying and him/her not being made to feel different.
Let’s not forget that almost immediately after DADT was struck down, culture warriors like Sandra Fluke immediately started complaining that the military doesn’t accept transgenders. She also thinks sex change operations should be fully covered (i.e. free). We can expect the long march of transgendered rights through all of our institutions (look out, Boy Scouts). Should get interesting when it comes to things like college sports (Title IX compliance) and women’s only awards and handouts (is it a female-owned business if the business owner has male parts?).
And what will the Left push next? Perhaps we’ll all be cowed enough for them to start pushing for acceptance of things like inter-generational relationships (the NAMBLA kind) and incest.

A fraternity is raising money for one of its transgendered members to surgically remove his breasts because his insurance won’t pay for it.
So I have a question. I’ve heard about this thing called cutting where emotionally damaged teens and young adults partake in self mutilation. I’ve been told this is a bad thing. Why is cutting bad but chopping off your genitalia socially acceptable and not considered self mutilation? Why do doctors consider one a disease and one A-OK?
As Kathy Shaidle says, transexuals are mentally ill castration fetishists. Time to stop mealy-mouthing it.

The desire to amputate a limb is a similar disorder, wherein the part of the brain that recognizes the body as “self” is damaged, leaving the poor soul with the nagging feeling that a limb is Not Mine; if only this damned thing were gone, then I could have my life back, they think.
They go to great lengths to inflict injuries on the maleficent limb, hoping to induce gangrene so that it will have to be surgically removed, because no doctor will remove it “because it’s driving me crazy.”
Cutting is similar to bulimia, in that it’s triggered by trauma and is used as a means for the sufferer to self-medicate. People can get therapy for cutting to the point that they stop cutting. Those who want to be amputees are stuck with the screwed-up perception.
It’s not hard to imagine that the brain of a male child, in utero, might fail to receive male patterning (female being the default), such that the gender also Feels Wrong, and much anguish and torment are the result.
However, when it comes to bathrooms and locker rooms and other situations where the body is exposed, the body’s plumbing—not the person’s perception—should determine where they end up. The boy who feels like a girl has no reason to feel violated when he is among other boys in the bathroom: nor would the other boys be violated.
The problem is not that we’re being forced to play along with the kid’s self-perception: it’s that we’re being forced to ignore the physical reality of the kid’s plumbing and how that physical reality affects those around the kid.
Dress up as a girl and play with dolls? Knock yourself out. I’ll even toss in female pronouns for good measure.
But until you modify your plumbing to conform with your perceived gender, the bathroom/locker room assignment must be determined by the physical reality.

She has since grown up and gotten married and had children. I think to myself now, 30 or so years later, would they be making a fake vagina-meat penis for her, and calling her “Ben” or something?

It isn’t even genetics. From what I’ve read the suicide rate among post-op male-to-female switchers is unusually high, and one theory is that the only things they had capable of achieving orgasm got lopped off and thrown away.
Whatever confusion you might have, God made you the way He made you and that’s the best you’re gonna get.

I explained to him that this was wrong, regardless how the child’s parents or the child felt because it was upsetting to the little girls who specifically joined an organization for little girls.
And, further that having multiple surgeries to look like a member of the opposite sex was never going to make one a member of the opposite sex. The skeletal structure, musculature and DNA profile aren’t changed by a cosmetic change that fools no one except perhaps the surgery candidate.

whether or not transexuals are “cured” by their physical transformation through hormones & surgery, at the very least they have made a permanent decision to completely live as one of the two sexes.
The gender-bending stuff, like the sad little daughter of Warren Beatty who “identifies” as a trans-man but talks enthusiastically about his/her desire to give birth is tragic. Such individuals want society to change for them, instead of having therapy to change their minds.

I’ve met a lot of drag queens and none of them wanted to actually have surgery to have their hoo-ha removed. And, if anyone ever asked, I would say that if you want to have fake boobies installed, go ahead, but keep the hoo-ha.
So, I’m with dicentra, yet again. The kid can dress up however he likes, but he has to share facilities with people who have the same plumbing.
Anything else that the parents do to further his “transformation” is abuse, pure and simple. Kids, by definition, have no clue what they are about. It’s up to parents to guide them, not indulge them.

Remember what happened to the East German women’s Olympic team, who were fed “vitamins” that were really steroids. Many of them became lesbians or got the operation, because the hormones changed their brains.
Generally, post-ops hope that their lives will finally start working, that they’ll finally “be a real woman,” but they find that very few men want to get involved with a former man, no matter the body parts or even the changed brain. It’s one thing to treat a co-worker or a neighbor as the post-op sex: it’s an entirely different thing to get physically intimate with them.
Unable to find love or happiness even after the surgery, they figure there’s nothing for it except to off themselves.
It’s a tough row to hoe. I imagine that their lives are full of angst and torment with little relief, just as schizophrenics and bipolars and people with severe OCD and those who want to cut off an arm.
They’ve been betrayed by their own brains. Few things suck worse.

I’ve met a pre-op and a post-op — separate individuals, very widely separated occasions. And no, I didn’t find out by surprise on either occasion, you horrid insinuators you.
If I were to judge I would say the pre-op was much happier, but he was at least considering having a lopitophomy someday, and his NTTAWWT activities were such, at a very risky time, I’d be very surprised if he lived to see the end of the ’80s.
The post-op? A Cylon toaster would have felt pity for him.

True that. It’s one thing to have a disorder that can be helped through pharmacology; OCD, epilepsy, bi-polar disorder and others. It’s something else again when people decide to self-medicate with steroids and hormones, as in your example of the East German women, although I assume they had team doctors who were using them as guinea pigs. Look at all of the body-builders and others who decide to pump themselves full of steroids and go into ‘roid rage.
Hormone replacement therapy is one thing. Say you’re entering or are in menopause and your MD prescribes HRT because you are liable to kill someone if he doesn’t do something to get you back on an even keel (I take Paxil so you don’t all die in a hail of gunfire), but deciding to take estrogen injections because you “feel” like a girl is dangerous and really stupid.
Find a nice therapist and learn to be honest with yourself and admit that you’re gay as Christmas, but you really, really like your penis and so do other guys who are like you. Being a homo isn’t a picnic, but it beats the hell out of being a surgically altered, hormone chomping freak who has no guarantee of being a happy girl since it’s pretty hard to keep a guy when it comes time to start sharing secrets.

I don’t see this as identifying as masculine as much as having a real issue with their own feminity. It seems to me like some therapy might be in order before we start subsidizing irreversible self mutilation.
If the person is still hell bent on carving themselves up after a couple of years of counseling, oh well.
The thing is leigh, most of the transgenders I know aren’t exactly gay in the normal sense, they are like the girl in the huffpo piece who apparently things she is a gay dude.
I know a similar person here in Athens. Lives as a boy, and looks and acts mostly like a boy top side, but is a girl below the belt and apparently swings both ways.
It is all very confusing.
Oh, I agree BMoe. I’ve known a number of drag queens who lived as women—and looked damned fine doing it, too—but had no desire to have their willy lopped off. They got the fake ta-tas and were very chic. Perfect hair and make up. Beautiful clothes. And like you said, sometimes changed it up and went out with the bisexual girls.
