No shame: Obama’s sequestration was “designed as budget threat, not budget strategy” [Darleen Click]

Dem Dick Durbin says so, quite matter-of-factly — as if Obama’s duplicity in July 2011 is, really, no Big Fucking Deal.

interesting that the threat as food stamp understood it was aimed squarely at our national security

  2. sdferr says:

It doesn’t do to display shame when one is trying to bamboozle people. They might catch on, and that would be counterproductive.

  3. leigh says:

ObaZma would do well to remember threats can backfire.

  4. Dave J says:

It is all he and his team have, threats….it is the Chicago way. The only strategy that they come up with is to threaten those of differing opinions….Be advised that any downside related to sequestration will be the fault of the republicans and mostly the Tea Party.

Remember Durbin’s defense for the ‘rats striking of the words God and Jerusalem from the party platform:

Bret, let me just say, I chaired the platform committee for two Democratic conventions. We produced the most unread document in the history of American politics, to suggest that this document and the insertion of two words here and one word there, now defines politics in America suggests to me that you’re not focusing on the real issues that American care about.

Like the cornered actor, playing the “I’m just an actor card.”

These freaks are something to behold.

  6. leigh says:

Big deal. Everything is already the fault of the republicans and the TEA Party.

  7. Obama and congressional Democrats weren’t bargaining in good faith? Who could have known?

This is not news to anyone other than the low information crowd, who is busy watching Kim Kardashian and don’t care.

The rest of us figured it out four years ago when “fundamentally transforming the country” became “I won”.

    Well, last November “we lost”.

Dreaming of a savior in 2016 requires the faith of Danial. I struggle…I really do…

  9. happyfeet says:

at this point the fascists are probably pretty keen for their vanquished Team R foes to believe fairly ardently in the myth of salvation

especially as opposed to getting Other Ideas

Dream of simple, yet sure competence, Lee. It’s easier that way.

    To dream, the impossible dream…

Darleen: I prefer to call him ‘King Barack The Unready’ but, then again, I’m a conservative, which means I’m medieval in my thinking.

  13. Ernst Schreiber says:

The OE unrædan means “ill-advised,” which fits, but also absolves him of responsibility, implying as it does that things would be better if only our petulant child-king listened to the right people for a change.

Dickie Durbin, the OTHER Senator from the Outfit.
