Wait…
Clitoral gamepods?
I don’t guess I can get another 5 words or so?
Jude Law? I’m there.
Maybe I should give it another watch, but my first viewing of it gave me somewhat uneven enjoyment. It struck me as very disjointed (although, looking back, that was probably the intent). I think I may have fallen asleep during it.
The fish gun was pretty cool though.
Yeah. This was my second time watching it, and it almost works better after you know a few things about the plot. It’s nice to watch the film unfold from the perspective of knowing the ending to see how the clues were laid and how the internal logic holds up.
Speaking of movies, I saw Batman Begins today. Definitely worth seeing, especially if you’re a Batman fan like I am. Great acting, a great script (they managed to work in a couple of things from Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One, which was cool), and a fantastic cast.
The fight scenes could’ve been better, but this was Cristopher Nolan’s first action movie. Still head and shoulders above Joel Schumacher’s last couple of abortions. I’d reccomend it.
I used to play with Clitoral GamepodZ. The guitar player was a maniac.
John Malkovitch!
Good movie! Amusing way to put it in five words.
It didn’t get as much attention as it should have, partly because of the proximity of the somewhat conceptually similar Matrix, and the fact it wasn’t “like the Matrix” in the ways people might have expected.
I thought that it was pretty stupid. Do anything for a plot twist.
Completely disagree. It was built on an implicit twist, and in fact has to play out the way it does. It follows the logic of its own premise.
Sean: I agree with you that Schumacher made a train wreck out of the Batman stories in general.
I recently watched Batman Begins, and in terms of visual style it was just what I want out of a Batman movie…not just dark, but gritty also (none of that dry ice and black light crap, thanks). Unfortunately I’m relegated to watching DVDs produced in a Bangkok slum, so there tend to be quality issues. Like the soundtrack being mostly inaudible…and the middle third being inexplicably missing. I tried the subtitles, but those were the Cliff Notes version. Still, I enjoyed it.
Hopefully someday someone will make a film version of Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns. I’d travel abroad just to see Batman kick Superman’s ass on the big screen.
