Is that like the Days of Wine and Rojas?
Who got naked in it?
Poor Paul Giamatti—no matter what he does, when I see him, all I can think is “W-ENNNNNNNNNNN-B C”
The star of the movie is Lowell from Wings. How good could it really be. Seriously. Lowell.
Good summary.
Funny movie.
It’s not a bad movie, but WAYYYY over-hyped. To hear the critics heaping on the praise, you’d think it was perfection on screen. And I can grant that it was well-done, but I just can’t get beyond the choice of making these two nearly completely neurotic characters the heart and soul of the film. You can’t ever really get on their side completely because one is a total jackass and the other is barely functional with his fear of the world. There’s a lot of good stuff between them, but they have such limitations that it’s like the film’s punch is handicapped from the beginning. JMHO.

If you weren’t housebound for the blizzard, which movie would you have watched?
Sorry, your “postscript” of 3 words brought the total to 8. You’ve now been voted off the island.
I’m going to have to give it another look. I bought and put it on, but never got through it. Probably because I was trying to watch Napa Valley vintage in a Boone’s Farm mood.
By the way, am I the only one who finds Sandra Oh hot in a weird way?
Nope.
Is it on pay per view yet?
Sandra Oh is kinda hot, but she’s got one flaw that’s hard to overlook. She’s…Canadian!
Oh, is Diana ever gonna hurt you.
Yes … and I’m very patient.
The worst torture you can inflict on a masochist is to make them…
…wait…
Oh, please. Completely neurotic characters is pretty much Jack Nicholson’s entire reportoire. Well, bizarre characters, with occasional forays into complete neurosis.
Turing word: born, as in Nicholson was born to play the wacko role.
“Yeah, I’d like a tuna salad sandwich on whole wheat, hold the lettuce, hold the tuna, hold the mayo and just bring me the &#^$%# toast…”
– Patience is a virtue …Unless someone’s out to get you….
wordgrinder: keep: running
Sandra Oh!! Oh!! Oh!!
esp >>> this.
OK, so I have an Asian gf, so I’m a bit prejudiced. Or wait, does that mean I’m not prejudiced? Apparently it means I’m confused. Anyway: Oh Yeah baby!!
OK that link didn’t work. Maybe this one
OK, that one not only didn’t work, it screwed up the thread.
One last try.
Completely neurotic characters? Two words: Woody Allen.
I enjoyed the movie but I found I was the only one laughing in the theater many times. What could this mean? Well, one, the movie probably wasn’t that funny, and, two, I’m probably a wine snob.
And I don’t drink any fucking merlot either!
Completely neurotic character? Guy who takes 3 tries to get his link right.
