Why did it take a until last week before anyone in the White House would admit it and toady Robert Gibbs started making excuses?
Within 24 hours of the 9-11 anniversary attack on the United States consulate in Benghazi, U.S. intelligence agencies had strong indications al Qaeda–affiliated operatives were behind the attack, and had even pinpointed the location of one of those attackers. Three separate U.S. intelligence officials who spoke to The Daily Beast said the early information was enough to show that the attack was planned and the work of al Qaeda affiliates operating in Eastern Libya.
Nonetheless, it took until late last week for the White House and the administration to formally acknowledge that the Benghazi assault was a terrorist attack. On Sunday, Obama adviser Robert Gibbs explained the evolving narrative as a function of new information coming in quickly on the attacks. “We learned more information every single day about what happened,” Gibbs said on Fox News. “Nobody wants to get to the bottom of this faster than we do.”
Susan Rice was out on the Sunday shows doing her snarling best to Blame the film-maker.
Yesterday, at the U.N. Obama came up with the jaw-dropping statement, among a lot of other disturbing statements,

… and also continued to refuse to call Benghazi a terrorist attack.
Whether deliberate cover-up or blatant incompetency, the Media would never have let President Bush get the pass the Obama-leg-humpers are doing today.
If they knew 24hrs after it happened then they were just 23hrs 59min 59 seconds later that the rest of us.
They attacked our embassies on freaking 9/11.
With cell phone communications, why not assume the CIA or State Dept. and by proxy, the White House, knew what the people in the Consulate were telling them was going on as the attack was underway, i.e., immediately. It could even be jihadis were hollering in Arabic — as we have seen they have occasion to do when they murder in the name of their god — such stuff as Allahu akbar?

This is a case where the question is the answer. The film was a convenient distraction deployed to prevent answering the real question, namely: Why weren’t our embassys and consulates better protected on the anniversary of 911?
The administration is betting the media will tire of the story and/or other events will overtake it before they are forced to admit their neglegence.
They know that Romney made a big deal out of the Cairo embassy messages about the pathetic YouTube video, so they don’t want to separate the Cairo screwup from the Benghazi screwup by saying that it has no connection to that protest that the media told us “Romney was dead wrong about,” even though he wasn’t.
The rioters in many locations hoisted the AQ flag, burned pictures of Obama, and chanted, “Obama, Obama, we are all Osama!” Obama didn’t want to admit that they were protesting him and his approval of killing Osama bin Laden as well as the drone assassinations of various other AQ operatives (and bystanders).
Apparently in years past embassies beefed up security around the 9/11 anniversary.
Many times people of the left when they get worked up in front of an adoring audience let loose what they believe in their heart before their head can step in and censor it. They will often try later to explain it as some form of a joke though those in the audience never took it as such at the time.
We now know absolutely the Obama Administration lied. But the question the press is not asking is why did the Obama Administration lie about the Benghazi attack?

What I really loved about this episode was that they opened a FBI criminal investigation in an attempt to cutoff all new information about the attack.
Obama can’t admit it was Al Qaeda. He killed Osama, and Osama = Al Qaeda. Therefore, once Obama killed Osama, Al Qaeda ceased to be a threat. Ispo Facto.
Any admission that Al Qaeda can still pose any kind of threat would completely undermine Obama’s narrative that by his single-handed vanquishing of Bin Laden, he has in fact rid the world of Islamic terrorism. All that remains are random, justifiably angry crowds that occasionally get a lit out of hand. There is no more terrorism, and there are no more terrorists. THE END.
